I think this has been mentioned once but when it comes to WMD's I would assume that in 1945 we were the first ones to ever use them. The Atomic Bomb I think would fall under the category of a WMD considering how much damage and carnage they did and how many people they killed even years after they were dropped. Now with that said, Yes it did drive Japan to the peace table quickly and end WWII. The real difference is the use of Chemical weapons on people with a stone age mentality does not really work in my opinion. If we were to bomb them because of it we would be no better than the ones that used the chemical weapons because our bombs would do nothing more than kill a bunch more stone age innocent civilians. By now Assad has been able to move his weapons and filled those spaces with thousands of innocent civilians for us to kill and then parade the dead bodies all over the press to show what we did.........jmho

Corker Has Buyer's Remorse Over Obama
bersaguy replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Neither one of them will get my vote when their time is up. The Rino is long past being voted out and should have been gone long ago. Corker has not been in long but has walked in Lamars footsteps instead of his own which tells me he is a follower and not a leader so he has to go too.......jmho -

How Stupid can This Administration Get?
bersaguy replied to Randall53's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't think we will have to test them. They seem to be well capable of voluntarily showing their stupidity without any help........jmho -
I didn't know that U.S. snipers went mountain goat hunting with Barret rifles and those look a lot more like turbans being blown threw the air than a goat.......but that is jmho They can make the title what ever they want to if they don't want to let the truth out about what the video is really about....again jmho If they were hunting goats I would think they would use a more conventional rifle for that purpose.

How Stupid can This Administration Get?
bersaguy replied to Randall53's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
They began sending weapons and arms to our enemies back in the 1970's when they sent Weapons to the Afghanistan rebels when they were fighting the Russians. They also sent men over there to train them on how to best use the weapons to defeat the Russians. back then a your leader of the guerrillas in Afghanistan was man named Osama Bin Laden and the man sent to train him was non other than Arnold Schwarzkopf who later became the General in charge of operation Desert Storm. Folks, arming our enemies is nothing new. It is just now not as easy to hid their actions with all of the news outlets covering every move anyone makes. Somewhere on one of my old computers I have pictures of Arnold and Bin Laden standing beside each other while he is explaining how to use of the weapons. -
Question. My wife can't rack the slide on any of my handguns.
bersaguy replied to Will Carry's topic in Handguns
Just my opinion here but it seems that many folks don't have much faith in a 22lr or 22 Mag hand gun. Back in my younger days when I hunted a lot I killed many big deer while Squirrel hunting during deer season with both a 22lr Semi auto rifle and also a 22 mag bolt action rifle. Folks don't give enough credit to what damage can be done with a rim fire round when placed in right locations. If a person practices enough a 22 caliber gun can be a very effective self defense weapon.........jmho -
The link listed below is of a U.S. Sniper in Afghanistan taking out Taliban snipers trying to get positions to kill Americans. It does have some graphic scenes so if your squeamish you may not want to watch it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyjU7WKvO9c

Letter to the American people from Vladimir Putin
bersaguy replied to Raoul's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I get responses back from both Corkscrew and Lamar all the time but you can tell they are written by one of his flunkies and not truly coming from them. Pretty much almost form letters from two total failures.........jmho -

At this point and considering my choices carefully I almost trust them both equally but leaning towards Putin at this point...........jmho and I never thought I could feel this way about an American President in my lifetime........... :stunned: :stunned: -
Ron Ramsey Lt. Governor of Tennessee
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
In all honesty if Ramsey did make a statement like that I'm sure he only stated what millions of Americans are already thinking. I mean they do call it Obama's Arab Spring. He had his hands in Egypt and a hand in the fall of Gaddafi in Syria and it was in Syria shortly there after that Benghazi fell in Syria. I wonder now when I think about it if the people at the consulate in Benghazi may have found something out and were not able to get it out because no one was sent in to rescue then or even try..........Sure makes one think huh!!!! My head hurts, I am over working my pea size brain here....... :squint: :squint: -
I would guess you are correct because gangsters don't register their guns to begin with and those are the ones doing all the killings.........jmho

Ron Ramsey Lt. Governor of Tennessee
bersaguy replied to bersaguy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm hoping they run the story again at 10 PM. I cannot find anything on their web site about it. I bet they killed the report because of all the controversy it was causing. -
One small step for gun owners and on giant step back wards for anti gun advocates. You can bet this is going to start a lot of elected officials sweating their re-election bids in 2014 mid term elections for sure. Will be interesting to see how tones change when primaries begin soon.

Did anyone hear about the statement made by Ron Ramsey in regards to the facts that Obama seems in many ways to be helping the Militants that are over throwing the Dictators in the Asian Countries knowing many of them are a part of the same factions of Al Quada that flew those planes struck the towers and Pentagon on 9/11 and that field in Pennsylvania. Ramsey said these are the people that Obama wants to help with giving arms and weapons to. From what I gather it drew a lot of flak from the Democrats real fast. I caught bits and pieces of it on news this evening on Channel 5 but didn't get to hear it all.....?????? Did any one else hear anything about it????

I made myself a promise when I climbed off my last flight back in 1974 on my way home from my time in Service that I would never fly again. Not because of the airlines flight but because of the time I spent in the air on a variety of different aircraft while deployed that I would never fly again and to this day I have not and have no plans to in the future........... :woohoo: :woohoo:

Ok I tried to watch it but fell asleep in recliner before it came on so had to stay up to see repeat of in on Fox. A speech that lasted 15.5 minutes that had several topics covered and none of it made any sense at all. Just a bunch of half truths and nothing made any sense. Now what I did see and what he did say was that in 1997 the entire earth of countries came together under the UN and except for 7 countries the rest of the world has said that the Use of Chemical and biological weapons would be band by every nation. That is a band of these weapons in over 178 countries including China, Russia and the rest of major world power players. So why is it that 178 countries have band the use of them are all not up in arms over the fact that they were used and why is it the only our POTUS is throwing a fit over it. Where is the other 177 other countries in the UN that agreed to this back in 1997? I agree that is was a shame that they were used and used in a country that did not agree with the rest in 1997 but in his speech he did not 100% prove that Assad and not the militants used the weapons. Assad's military leaders sending radio messages to his troops in that area does not prove he fired them. It proves that his military may have intercepted a message that Chemical weapons are going to be used and his troops need to have gas masks. In all probably the militants used the weapons just to try and drag the U.S. into it to help them...........jmho

Who watches TV the old fashioned way for free and not cable ?
bersaguy replied to tercel89's topic in General Chat
A buddy of mine turned off his cable and put an antenna in his attic and he gets all kinds of channels. I have been kicking around the idea of turning mine off. He said he will put me up an antenna and I have two newer flat screen LED tv's so should not have an issue on that end. I also use Netflix for movies so except for History channel and Discovery Channel I won't miss much else. I also found out that the programs I enjoy like Swamp people, Mountain Men, Yukon Men and Gold Rush are all being put on video by the seasons so I will still be able to watch them as they release them on DVD. -
Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt pocket/purse-sized Tazer. The effects of the Tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety...?? WAY TOO COOL!!! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home...I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button and pressed it against a metal surface at the same time, I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs. AWESOME!!! Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Julie what the burn spot is on the face of her microwave. Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two AAA batteries, right? There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a secone) and then thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself againist a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong? So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, and Tazer in another. The directions said that: A one second burst would shock and disorient your assailant A two second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; and A three second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting batteries. All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch in circumference (loaded with two itsy, bitsy AAA batteries) pretty cute really, and thinking to myself, "no possible way"!! What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best. I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side so as to say, "Don't do it stupid", reasoning that a one second burst from such a tiny lil ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad...I decided to give myself a one second burst just for heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and ..... HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. WHAT THE ....!!!! I'm pretty sure Hulk Hogan ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs! The cat was making meowing sounds I had never heard before, clinging to a picture frame hanging above the fireplace, obviously in an attempt to avoid getting slammed by my body flopping all over the living room. Note- If you ever feel compelled to "mug" yourself with a Tazer one note of caution: There is NO such thing as a one second burst when you zap yourself! You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by violent thrashing about on the floor!! A three second burst would be considered conservative! A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), I collected my wits (what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. *The recliner was upside down and about 8 feet or so from where it originally was. *My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still twitching. *My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88 lbs. *I had no control over the drooling. *Apparently I had crapped in my shorts, but was too numb to know for sure, and my sense of smell was gone. *I saw a faint smoke cloud above my head, which I believe came from my hair. I'm still looking for my testicles and I'm offering a significant reward for their safe return! My wife can't stop laughing about my experience, loved the gift and now regularly threatens me with it! If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

Deer processors use to be about every where but in last several years they seem to be getting harder and harder to find. Not sure if it has become a cost factor or a time factor but I just know less folks are doing it these days. Last deer i had processed cost me 80 bucks. Work was very good but a tad costly but he is not doing it any longer and he was here in Gallatin...............
