  1. Don't know the girl or the movie, but the guns seem to mocked up hollywood versions of the pre-war Colt Official Police.
  2. For a rifle I'll go with my M1A Scout/Squad. Its a good do it all rifle. Handgun, well as much as I love my 1911s, I'd probably go with a high cap 9mm just for ammo availability. Then there would be a good .22 handgun in my pack for small game and throw in a suppressor for keeping a low profile.
  3. Most people also don't know that Mariska's father was Mickey Hargitay. He was a famous bodybuilder back in the 1950s who won the Mr. Universe title. He went on to do some minor acting. Often starring in "B" Hercules type movies. He was also often seen as a guest star in early TV shows where a tough guy character was needed. But his best role was as Jayne Mansfield's husband.
  4. I see this quite often myself. It seems to occur most often with employees who are required to wear a mask at work. Especially, at store check outs and such. IDK, maybe some sort of minor rebellion against being forced to wear a mask at all. Then these folks do wear the mask for extended periods.. I guess it does get uncomfortable after a while. I know I'm ready to take mine off as soon as I leave the store. I really hate to think that this many people are really that stupid. But it is a real possibility.
  5. This right here. Its been decades since Americans could trust anything the government has said. Now they reap what they have sown. Yep products of liberalism and the ME generation. Screw your needs or opinions! Its all about Me! I think its more about being TOLD to wear a mask. Some folks are just hardheaded enough to rebel just on that alone. I wear a mask in public and I hope others do as well. So its a minor inconvenience, so what? We inconvenience ourselves on a daily basis for far less reason. Wearing a mask is common sense. But I'm afraid common sense isn't very common.
  6. As if the NICS system weren't already overloaded enough.
  7. ???? ????
  8. Good point. There have been large crowds gathering in Memphis over the last several weeks for a variety of reasons. Looks like its coming back to bite 'em on the butt. Memphians aren't the smartest people in this state. Today's numbers show 2,375 active cases in Shelby County. It doesn't say how many are hospitalized. However, adding 100 or more every day it could start to get crowded in our hospitals very quickly. I hear ya. I'm in the same boat. And after some serious health problems last year, the doctors now say I have COPD. The virus could be deadly for me. So I'm taking no chances.
  9. Shelby County (Memphis) has been steadily adding around 100 new cases per day for about a week now. The good news is that the death rate seems to be steady at only about 2%. I have to wonder just how many of the increased new cases are people who took part in the big protests that where happening daily for over a week?
  10. I've been kinda watching the daily numbers. Checking every couple of days on the U.S. TN and Shelby county. Ever since the partial reopening, they've been steadily going up. Especially after the many large protest gatherings. I'm afraid I see another total lockdown in the near future. This thing is far from over.
  11. Ammoseek.com shows about 30 or more places that have it in stock. But as Shorty said, it ain't cheap. Prices run from $0.75 to $1.63 per round.
  12. I don't spend a lot on range bags. I generally find the stuff in the $30-50 range is plenty good enough. To me the important thing is that it has enough mag and storage pockets for all the junk I want to go with the gun. Just measure your rifles overall length and pick one to fit.
  13. I've read both of those books and completely agree with you. My oldest son is diabetic. Dark stuff indeed.
  14. That's what kinda spooks me.
  15. I just recently finished the first four books in the series, so they're still fresh in my mind. Like I said the resemblance to current events is down right scary. Deleting/ changing history, hating people and historical figures with claims of racism. PC run amok. Its all in his books and then some. There's a 5th book due out soon. I had planned to get it, now I'm kinda spooked and not sure.
  16. I thought I'd bring this thread back up as the craziness that is happening these days bears a huge resemblance to Kurt Schlichter's "People's Republic" series which I reviewed just a couple of posts earlier. I mean its absolutely frightening how Schlichter's fictional dystopian near future of liberalism gone crazy is coming to life all around us. Schlichter has always said that while his novels are fiction, they are also meant to be a warning of just what might happen. I fear he is right.
  17. I love a happy ending.
  18. Interesting thread. I think I'd try to do things in this order: 1. Avoid if at all possible. Call 911 2. Leave if possible. 3. If non-violent. Try to wait for the crowd to move on or police come. 4. If violent, use the vehicle as a battering ram to make room to escape. 5. Fire only if absolutely necessary. I've never really thought about a dash cam. But now, I do believe I'll look into it.
