I belong to both. Despite its current problems, the NRA does have clout. They also have some serious internal problems that have gone on for years. King Wayne long ago got much to into playing politics and became our own worst enemy. Honestly, I hope he ends up in jail. Hopefully, the NRA will come through these troubles better for the experience and regain its glory. Omega is right about GOA. These guys are bare knuckle fighters and don't back down or compromise. If GOA was as big as the NRA, we wouldn't have to fight for our rights. Maybe the NRA's current problems will help GOA grow. I strongly recommend them.

New York Attorney General files suit to dissolve the NRA

I keep my NRA membership current. As stated, they are the big boys. But also because my gun club requires membership. However, I won't give them one cent extra. I've opposed King Wayne and his cronies for years. Its long past time for him to go. But he and his cronies are so entrenched that every effort to save the NRA has fallen pretty quickly. Hopefully, this time he'll finally get what's coming. And hopefully, the NRA will survive under better leadership. I'm also a long time member of GOA. They actually fight and have challenged many bad laws in court on a regular basis. If they had the membership and money of the NRA, our rights would be much better off. -
I love seeing our heritage passed on to the younger generation. I went to the range for a little while Thursday afternoon. The only other people on the handgun line was a father and his daughter who I guess was about 12 or so shooting .22 pistols. The girl was really enjoying herself.

King Wayne got too caught up in playing politics. Instead of fighting the crooked politicians, he became one. -
In that one video that appears to be taken from up high in a building, if you look closely at the bottom of the smoke cloud, just before the explosion, you will see fireworks going off.
-
As I understand it, things started off as a fire. The fire set off a large shipment of fireworks and that's what set off the fertilizer.

I saw a story about this on the local news last night. It seems that most of these seeds are herbs of one kind or another. However, they still warn against planting them and you should contact .gov if you get any. So far, nobody seems to know why people are getting these. Its strongly suggested to be very cautious.

Certainly not what I expected. I thought the receiver would come apart. Crazy, rich kid with way too much time on his hands. I envy him.

WADDAMINUT! Do men actually watch the Hallmark channel?

Yep, Bon Lin Middle. The school is open M-F. But the students will be in split shifts. I don't know all the details, but this is what the parents voted for. I just go by what my son told me.

Our schools are supposed to open Aug 17. Honestly, I'm worried about my daughter-in-law. She works at one of the middle schools as a Special Ed administrator. Although she's not often in contact with the children, she does work with teachers every day. They're come up with an interesting system which was voted on and selected by the parents. Half the kids will go to school on Monday and Tuesday, the other half will attend on Wednesday and Thursday. Only staff will be there on Friday. They are taking every precaution, but I still worry. She and my son just got married back in May. I like her and certainly would hate to see her get sick.

CTD is notorious for price gouging. Any time there's any kind of shortage, CTD will take what they have in stock and jack the price way up into the stratosphere. No knowledgeable gun person will do business with these pirates. Yet, they find fools to buy whatever they have. BTW: they're also known to charge outrageous shipping. Often charging separate shipping on individual items in the same order.

Most of the coins are in pants pockets, purses and sitting on the dresser. People are staying home. Those that do go out often pay in cash with paper bills. Most don't use exact change. Businesses are still having to make change, but very few coins are coming back in.

I've watched a bunch of his videos over the years. RIP.

I think its government related as all the test sites are listed with contact info on the City of Memphis Covid-19 update web page. But the actual test site I used belongs to a local church sponsored low income/charity clinics. Christ Community Health Center. They have about a dozen clinics doing free testing all around Memphis. This one just happened to be the closest one I could get into. However, there are also quite a few other places in the Memphis testing system too including many other clinics and hospitals. Close to 30 in all. However, there is no common data base to access that I know of. They are very private about the info requiring you properly ID yourself before giving you the results. They ask full name , address and birth date when you get the call. I think test results are covered under HIPAA. If you call the main testing phone number, they tell you to call the specific clinic where you were tested. Good luck with that. I tried to call for my results twice and ended up on terminal hold. "You are caller number 65 in the que, please hold." Yes, you can go to a private doctor to be tested and get your results back much quicker. But you will have to pay for the test. I don't know the cost and not all doctors will do them. Likewise they say if you test positive to call your doctor and NO NOT go to his office until he gives you instructions. They don't want infected people sitting around in waiting rooms. BTW: if you are scheduled for any type of medical procedure, no matter how minor. Many Doctors will insist that you get a Covid test before they will do it.
-
Probably. They have the testing procedure down pat. You can register by text, they will give you a window of when and where to be, Stay in your car. As the line moves along you can be checked-in, your paperwork pulled and all this can be done without so much as rolling down your window. Once you pull into the tent, the actual test only takes about a minute and then you're on your way. I got tested about 2 weeks ago. I showed up at the designated time and place and there were already 50-60 cars in line ahead of me. However, once testing started, I was done in about 45 minutes. The problem is that so many people are being tested, that the labs are seriously backed up. What was 3 days to get results is now much longer. It took 8 days for me to get mine. BTW: Negative.

Shelby County was actually running on the negative side for the last couple of days with no new cases. Then today BOOM! 229 new cases. 5439 active cases total with 262 deaths. Must be Monday.
