  1. I believe that are way too many very rich and politically powerful people on Epstein's client list for it ever to become public. They will make sure of that. I'm surprised Maxwell is still alive. But she's too smart to ever talk.
  2. Next to it was a strange glowing object.
  3. Then the dog farted loudly! ( Sorry, just trying to show how the story can change directions in a hurry. )
  4. When the state law was passed it contained a provision for cities to pass a local ban against carry in parks. In Memphis you can NOT carry in any city park even with a permit. In my town, Bartlett, you can carry in parks except if a school function is taking place. It varies from city to city. You need to check local laws.
  5. I'd re-blue it. I've had excellent results using a product called Blue Wonder. But you will need a hair drier or heat gun to warm the parts before applying the new finish. There are videos on the internet to show you just how its done.
  6. This is something I've seen on other forums in the past. I thought I'd give it a try here. The game is simple. One person starts with a single line to the story. The next person adds one sentence and so on and so forth. But only one sentence at a time. Someone else must post before you can post again. But you can add to the story as many times as you want. Take it wherever you want, give it twists and turns. The whole idea is to have fun with it. Let your imagination run free. With the group we have here, this could be quite entertaining. I'll start: It was a dark and stormy night.....
  7. Nah, this is the omnipotent alien character on Star Trek: TNG.
  8. Ok, I did a little research. It seems that Q Anon is a bunch of internet freaks who deal in conspiracy theories. They are so far to the right that normal conservatives consider 'em nuts. Anyway as near as I can figure, they make a lot of noise but don't amount to squat. I doubt anybody with any sense takes them seriously. Here's a link to their web site. Take a look for yourselves. https://theqanons.com/
  9. Are you, talking about Q Anon? I've heard of them, but never really understood what that was all about. I'd like a little info on that myself.
  10. OH! That poor gun! At least it is functional and you do have the .22LR inserts so that's in your favor. I think I'd make a project of that and refinish it. Certainly couldn't hurt.
  11. Sounds to me like you're just asking for trouble. In a word: DON'T.
  12. No reason not to. The M1A is a fine rifle. I love mine. The Grand is just special. A piece of history and a pure joy to shoot. You have to understand that the Garand was designed in the 1930s. .30-06 ammo has come a long ways since then. Modern hunting ammo runs at pressures the Garand was never designed for. As I said, several makers do make modern ammo specifically for the Garand. Ammo is out there.
  13. I'm a huge fan of both the M1 Garand and the M1A. I've got 2 Garands and 4 M1As. The M1A is my choice for a main battle rifle. And I agree with Garufa that the Scout Squad is the best all around choice. The 18" barrel is the perfect compromise between power and handling. Be aware that the plain stock versions aren't target guns. They were designed for combat. Most will shoot 2-3" at 100 yards. Plenty good enough for hunting or combat. For a real tack driver ya gotta spend big bucks. However, the M1 Garand is just pure class. A true piece of history. Your best bet for that is CMP. Yeah, a few hoops to jump through, but you get a completely serviceable rifle at a good price. A pure joy to shoot. The down side with the M1 is that you shouldn't shoot commercial hunting ammo in it. Too much pressure. And the supply of good Mil-surp ammo is drying up. However, there are modern commercial loads just for the Garand.
  14. I'd also go with a pistol caliber lever gun. Preferably a 16" Trapper model. Short, light, fast and easy to handle. Plus you can top off the magazine as you go.

    FedNow

I won't even pretend to know anything about the world of banking and finance. But my gut felling is that if .gov gets involved, they're gonna screw it all up.
  16. I do remember one thing about the place. My wife and I went in there once just to try it out. We sat down, looked at the menu, made note of the prices, got up and left. That's probably why they ain't around anymore and nobody can remember the place.
  17. Why'd y'all have to bring this back up? Now ya got me wondering. There was a place like what is described in Wolfchase mall when it first opened years ago. It was an upscale place as I remember. Kinda expensive for the likes of me. But I distinctly remember it being kinda dark, rustic decor and those flickering bulbs. DAMMIT! I can't remember the name.

    Change

Our current educational system is a disaster. No child left behind, grades don't matter, everybody gets a trophy and you're so special. We have kids graduating high school who can barely read or write. They struggle with basic math and they have no comprehension of science or history. But they sure are woke! Our schools are little more than liberal indoctrination centers. School should be hard. It should be challenging. It should make kids work hard and think for themselves. Failure is the best teacher. Then they're suddenly thrust out into a real world that they're completely unprepared for. They soon discover that they aren't special and nobody gives a damn about them. You actually have to work to accomplish your goals. Some of them just can't handle it and fall into depression or worse. This has been going on for at least the last 30 years or more. Now we have a bunch of ignorant , liberal drones who vote. And that is what is wrong with this country today.
  19. It turned out to be a beautiful day today. Sunny skies, 63 degrees and a slight wind. I grabbed my stuff and headed to the range. One picture is worth a thousand words. Mozambique speed drills at 10 yards. Draw, 2 to the body, 1 to the head., reholster and repeat. Not bad for a decrepit old man. All in all I shot about 300 rounds. Not even the slightest bobble. I didn't even notice the heavy trigger. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with it. Looks like I have a new gun in the carry line up.
  20. Neither. Its all cheap crap. I spent my life turning wrenches. Only buy quality tools. Your knuckles will appreciate it.
  21. I just used a wire brush on a bench grinder. Quick and easy.
  22. As I've said many times before, every cop I've ever asked has told me that the most common stolen gun report that they do has the weapon stolen out of a vehicle. Vehicles are not very secure. While I agree its the thief's fault. You shouldn't give them the opportunity.
