When buying I always add the phrase "pending actual inspection" when negotiating a deal. Some years ago I worked out a deal for a gun on Armslist and when we met, I found it wasn't in near as good of condition as the pictures suggested. I turned it down and the seller went absolutely ballistic! Cussed me up and down screaming "We had a deal!" Well sorry, but I saw it as his fault for misrepresenting the gun. OTOH If I'm selling, have worked out a deal and someone else offers more. Sorry the other guy was here first and I'll honor my word.

For those that heard about Newsoms “28th amendment”
Grayfox54 replied to Scotty's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I've said it many times. Our schools are little more than liberal indoctrination centers. They've been filling our children's minds with this stuff for years. Well, now those kids have reached voting age. Common sense is badly out numbered. Its only a matter of time before the liberals win. -
Probably be cheaper and a whole lot less troublesome to just go get it.

On another forum I visit there's a discussion going on about brandishing. I don't believe I've ever actually heard Tennessee's definition of the term. Exactly what is considered brandishing and what are the penalties? For example: You're being approached by someone in a threatening manner. No weapon visible yet, but you genuinely feel threatened. You open your shirt to reveal your CCW and hopefully deter any attack. Legal or not?

A state that's trying to destroy what little industry they have left, their tax payer base is leaving in droves and teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. Even voters in blue states think they're crazy. Newsom don't stand a chance. -

This has been making the rounds on other forums. The general consensus is that he just wants his name in the news and it'll never fly. Newsom is testing the waters for a 2028 run. Nobody is going to take a politician from California seriously. -

I'd be real tempted to ram him and see how far he bounces.

Done and done. I hoping that the session starts, a quick vote of NO and everybody goes home in less than a hour. That would put Lee in his place.

I do believe there is intelligent life on other planets. But if they have the knowledge and technology to travel around the galaxy, do you really think they would want to be friends with us? I doubt it.

My Father was an avid bird hunter. He lost a leg in the late 60s and looked into hunting from the saddle. Hunting quail from horseback was big back then. Unfortunately, the cost of a good gun broke horse was outrageous. It never happened. I can't even guess what a good hunting horse would cost these days.

Well, there goes the neighborhood! (That's what the aliens are thinking.)

Look no further than Brownell's. They specialize in gunsmithing tools and have everything you could possibly want. Top quality stuff. They ain't cheap, but quality tools never are. I suggest you start with their MAGNA-TIP screwdriver set. Its pretty much the industry standard. Bits are available in all types, shapes and sizes, including the hex bits you need. I filled all the spaces in my box years ago.

People in Florida are Idiots -REVISED- People are Idiots
Grayfox54 replied to Snaveba's topic in General Chat
I'm afraid stupidity knows no boundaries. -
The whole thing could have been avoided if the city had just let him build his road. Why would they not? “Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.” ― H.L. Mencken

I got a e-mail from Gun Owners of America today. GOA has gotten a federal judge to issue a preliminary injunction protecting all its members from the brace ban. I'm a long time member as I suspect many others here are as well. However, I think I'll wait until this plays out in the courts before I put my brace back on.

I believe that EVs are the wave of the future. Some day that will be what everybody drives. But the technology just ain't there yet. I'd guess it'll be probably another 20-30 years before they're truly practical. Until then its just another greeny dream that they can fuss about.

I guess now along with the background check you'll have to pee in a cup.

12 gauge loaded with slugs. Put the first shot into the shoulder to cripple and slow him down. I read a book about bear attacks some years ago. Bears don't like people and generally try to avoid them. Most attacks occur when the bear is busy with something else, not paying attention and the human surprises them. Make noise when you move, sing, hum, do anything to alert the bear to your presence.

Well, y'all know me and Smith & Wessons. 17-5 17-6 Full Lug, a pair of 18-3s and a 34-1. One of my 18-3s was modified by the previous owner with a Red Ramp front sight, smooth trigger and a wonderful action job. I added a set of my favorite combat grips. I give this gun full credit for teaching me how to properly shoot a revolver in DA mode.

My favorite .22 revolver is the 4" S&W Model 18. Its a K-frame and very easy to shoot well. The 6" model 18 is also an excellent revolver. Often used for hunting and pure target shooting. Then on the smaller J-frame there's the Models 34 & 63. None of these are cheap, but they're well worth the money.

sale-or-trade Clark Custom Colt 1911 .45 ACP (SOLD)
Grayfox54 replied to RonE's topic in Firearms Classifieds
I have a 1964 Clark Longslide that's the best 1911 I've ever owned. His work is legendary. I'm sorely tempted. But its beyond my budget and too far away.
