  1. Oh yes, the Disciples of JMB are a quite dedicated bunch. Even though it was the Master's Padawan who had to finish it, the Hi-Power is considered JMB's crowning achievement in pistols. What I want to know is how the Hell do ya make an all steel gun look like a piece of cheap plastic? I mean look at that ugly thing. The frame looks like something molded from poop.
  2. Whatever this thing is, it AIN"T a Hi-Power.
  3. You're runnin' a little late there Dude. The SA-35 has already been discussed quite well. There's currently a thread bashing the brains out of the new FN. The Girsan has been mentioned, but is kinda background player. The Hi-Power is one of the most copied pistols in the world. Its been standard issue in more Armies than any other pistol ever made. There are millions of 'em out there made by more companies than I can remember. I don't think interest ever really faded.
  4. IDK, Maybe you should buy one. Keep it unfired, NIB and tuck it away. 30 years from now it'll be worth a fortune because so few were ever sold.
  5. No. This is what a HI-Power is supposed to look like. Not that abomination.
  6. I would, but that kind of language is frowned upon here. Tryin' to keep it civil ya know.
  7. The couch commandos have convinced the internet that going into a gun fight with anything less than 1000 rounds of ammo is suicide.
  8. Nope, nope, nope. I don't like it one bit. Ya don't go just changing up a true classic. I think FN has screwed up big time. I will be buying a SA-35 as soon as I can find one. But I want nothing to do with this new FN abortion.
  9. Well done Sir. We gotta keep the sport alive for the next generation.
  10. Interesting. According to this article, the .30 SC generates 10-20% less recoil. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what real experiences are. I genuinely believe that felt recoil is what will make or break this cartridge. https://www.fieldandstream.com/guns/federal-introduces-new-handgun-cartridge/ However, I also think that making the AOL the same as the 9mm is going to eliminate this round from its best platform. The .380 size pocket auto.
  11. The slide looks a tad bit short. Detective Model? That would explain the full length guide rod. Don't care much for that FDE color or the new grips. We'll see when it comes out.
  12. I've always considered the .32 acp to be highly under rated. Its a good cartridge with adequate penetration that's very easy to shoot well. Putting hits where they count is the name of the game. I think Federal and S&W blew a great opportunity here. A .32 caliber cartridge powered somewhere between the .380 and the 9mm, but with much less felt recoil would be perfect in a pocket sized gun. But NO! They had to go for a 9mm lite instead. I think that decision is gonna come back and bite 'em on the butt.
  13. That was my initial thought. But having now learned that recoil is equal to a 9mm, I don't think that plan will play out very well.
  14. Not much to report here in the west end. We got about an inch, maybe 2. It didn't get cold enough and the roads are pretty much clear. Kind of a non-event really.
  15. I hear ya. Having a COPD flair up myself. I ain't moving much for a few days either.
  16. Here they're predicting 4 maybe 6". Experience has taught it'll either be nothing or a foot. Either way, I don't care. I'm well stocked and have no need to go anywhere. I just love looking at the snow. From inside my nice warm house.
  17. Ya know repair estimates in weeks really isn't that bad. I remember back in the 1970s-80s when sending a gun in for factory work was measured in months. Often 6 months or more. Colt was especially notorious about saying "We'll call you when its ready" and that could be a year. Over the years (about 40 I guess) I've had to send guns back to the factory several times for different reasons. Colt, S&W and Ruger were the slowest. Often taking months. Springfield Armory and Walther were the fastest both having my gun repaired and back to me in just 8 days. It is what it is and no amount of worry or complaining is gonna change it.
  18. Once I actually looked at the gun, I realized that its not real. That's a Mattel Tommy Gun toy! Maybe she means to get the bad guys with those killer legs.
  19. .45acp! I do like 'em thicc! But lets not leave the long guns out.
  20. Link don't work.
  21. Kinda cool. But it has that "way out of my budget" look to it.
  22. I've seen a couple of other articles about it here and there on the web. Apparently its the same OAL as the 9mm. Therefore it ain't gonna fit in most of the pocket sized .380 or .32acp platforms. Its also reported that felt recoil is right about the same as a 9mm with similar weight bullets. In other words its gonna be nasty in small pocket sized guns. The ONLY advantage it has over 9mm is that you can get all of two more rounds in the magazine. Yep, this thing is gonna be as popular as the .45 GAP.
  23. I've been preaching about this for years. School isn't about education anymore. Its about pushing kids through a failed system and turning out good little drones who follow their masters orders without question and believe everything the liberal left has pumped into their poor feeble minds. People who can think for themselves are a danger to the powers that be.
  24. Could somebody translate that load of gibberish please? What the hell are they trying to say?
