Smart guns are a really stupid idea.

I don't see no hammer. And it is marked 30x19. I too think this is some kind of joke.

Nope, the tap will just bottom out. In my career as a mechanic I dealt with lots of broken bolts and screws. Screws that small are a royal PITA. Just the tiniest miss step will ruin the piece. Such jobs take a whole lot time and an ungodly amount of patience. I could probably do it, but I've had many years of practice. An amateur shouldn't even try. Let S&W deal with it. More than likely they won't even try to fix it. Too time consuming. They'll just scrap the slide and put on another. Like I said, see if you can just send in your slide and swap for a new one. That would be the quickest way.

The screw can be removed at home, but don't. No matter how careful you are, there's always the chance you may screw it up. That could void the warranty. best to just be patient and let S&W deal with it. Call S&W and see if you can just swap the slide with them. You send your bad one to them and they send you a new one. Could be a lot faster if they'll agree. In my experience, when S&W says 6-8 weeks, they're being optimistic. I'm thinking more like 3-4 months.

This is an old picture. I've added more since this was taken. 1959 Colt Commander .45acp. My EDC. CMP 1911. 1942 Colt frame with an Ithica slide. 1964 Clark Longslide. Still as accurate today as when it was made.

This ^^^^^^ If you buy used, hire a safe company to move it for you. Well worth the cost.

Nothing really. But it is a bottleneck cartridge so getting more into a similar size magazine won't work. My own pet peeve against the 7.62X25 is that sucker is LOUD!. I just don't care for shooting it.

You may be right. But it will be the public that decides if the 30SC will be successful. Not some internet gun writer with preconceived notions.

Looks like most of it missed the west end. We got a light dusting. Barely enough to show on the ground. Roads are wet, but clear. Lots of places closed for no reason.

Well, by being so vocally opposed to it before its even released, he's certainly drawing attention to himself. There's no such thing as bad publicity. So who's the shill here? For me, the make or break issue is going to be recoil. I small. pocket sized gun with close to 9mm performance but easy to manage recoil would be an absolute winner. But if the recoil is sharp, snappy or nasty, it'll never fly.

I guess after the I-95 fiasco everybody is in CYA mode. We have a chance of snow or freezing rain forecast here for tonight. Expected to arrive somewhere around 3:00 am. The ticker at the bottom of the TV is already announcing school, govt offices and business closures for tomorrow and Friday . The first snow flake hasn't fallen yet. I reckon in the morning we'll see if its a smart move or not. BTW: I did my grocery shopping yesterday. I have plenty of milk and bread.

I'd like to see actual dimensions on it and how it physically compares to the .32 acp and other cartridges.

There's been quite a bit of discussion on other forums about this. The main question seems to be why? Why another caliber? Why now, when common ammo is so hard to find? What were they thinking? Nobody seems to know. Formal introduction and much more info is expected to take place at the Shot Show in just a couple of weeks. Same to me. But I also think the .32acp is a vastly underrated cartridge. Speculation so far is that its designed for the currently popular small or pocket sized pistols. Apparently you can squeeze one or two more rounds into the same size magazine as a 9mm. I guess everything is about capacity these days. My real interest is how's the recoil? If its more comfortable to shoot than a standard 9mm or a blowback .380, I can see a market with women, elderly or disabled people. Here a higher preforming cartridge with lower felt recoil would be very popular. If the cartridge proves to be decent, I can see it being readily adaptable in most any existing .380 or .32 firearms such as the Walther PP Series. Personally, I'd like to see it in something like the Colt Government .380/Mustang or Browning 1911-380.

I find that hard to believe. When I was working for my city, every year along about November we were mounting salt spreaders and stockpiling salt and sand. Even though the nasty stuff usually didn't hit until around January or February, we prepared well in advance. Virginia may have been caught with their pants down, but surely they would have had equipment and supplies in place. If not, heads need to roll.

I saw an article where U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia was stuck in this mess. He left Richmond at around noon Monday for the two hour drive to D.C. He tweeted after 19 hours that he had been in touch with the Governor. I'm guessing he ain't happy.

I bought my older son one of these when he was about 9-10. We saw it in "Predator". I think I liked playing with it as much as he did.

Forget drinks. I wanna cookie!

All we got was a fair dusting. 75 degrees one day and snow the next. Currently 32 degrees here.

Some smart person or company should make some sort of candy/snack bar/cookie in thin. green squares and call it Soylent Green. They'd make a fortune!

Shhhhhhh! Be quiet! Maybe 2022 will just go away.
