I tried a few recipes but haven't locked in on any as I don't have a dedicated can to keep trying to get one that works right with my setup, 10.5" and 16" barrels, but I do have few in a pdf I put together for the 300Blk. Here are a couple to try, work it down of course. 10.0gr of 2400 with a 220 SMK at 2.260 OAL 9.3gr of 4227 with a 220 SMK at 2.100 OAL 9.5 of 4227 with 208 Amax at 2.095 OAL

Yea, I never really liked A2s, just hate having a scope that high. When I got my first AR, during the AR depression, I ordered an M&P flattop. It took almost a year to get but at the then $800 it was a steal, now I can make two for that price. Anyway, I still have a detachable sight/handle with a scope mount which I traded for, I figured I would use it as trading fodder for AR parts I wanted later.

Can't fix stupid

Still do, I get their emails with them all the time. This one doesn't have the rear sight/handle, but those are cheap too. http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-20-rifle-length-5-56-nato-1-7-upper-with-bcg-and-charging-handle-1.html?trk_msg=1OFFJERLCTQKB1H0T5DVBOHPDK&trk_contact=FF7IP4D99HJPE49NLEIJFMQ784&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=http%3a%2f%2fpalmettostatearmory.com%2fpsa-20-rifle-length-5-56-nato-1-7-upper-with-bcg-and-charging-handle-1.html&utm_campaign=Daily+Deals+Email&utm_content=12%3a00+Email

Aging venison is just like aging beef, enzymes break down the fibers and tenderize the meat a bit. Of course you have to keep the meat clean from field dress to table, no ruptured guts or bladder, dirt hair etc. I age mine for at the minimum 4 days at 36 deg, from 34-38 is where you want it, above 40 and you may start growing bacteria. Its best if left hide-on in a walk-in cooler, but I gutted a fridge and quarter the carcass, no hide, and hang in there. The I debone and process the cuts to what ever I want, mostly some steaks and grind the rest. If using soon, you can mix your fat into the grind, pork or beef, then freeze. If not using for a few months, I mix the fat upon use. I vacuum seal mine, it lasts at least 5 years, my longest in a deep freezer, but I have used saran wrap then freezer paper and it last at least 2 years in a deep freezer. In a normal freezer it may last less, but I only keep venison there for a few weeks at time.

I'm not done, but took a week break. I process my own deer, and I like to age mine, so I wait until I'm done to try for another. If doe, looking for a smallish one, buck...something with at least 6 points or so.

I do have a way to verify current duty station, but even if it were not the case I would take a set of orders and a CAC card as proof. At 19-20, the chances of them being transferred to another duty station is slim. Average duty at one station is three years, and since this is not a basic training base they would not be transient awaiting their next duty station. As far as I'm concerned, I would have no reason to suspect that their orders were not good, just as I take for granted that a CCW permit is still good even if it was issued years before. As an aside, I wonder how an FFL treats stripped lowers? Since they are neither a rifle or a gun at that point, can an 18YO purchase one?

For many legal purposes they can be residents of either KY or TN, but most will claim the state they reside in. I always claimed TN due to my address, but have purchased guns on both sides of the state line. Same with vehicles, both TN and KY can sell vehicles to military members and give the sales tax exemption. You just need your orders assigning you to Ft Campbell and your military Id to get the benefit. I would be comfortable doing the same thing as long as I can verify both those documents, that would be enough due diligence for me.

Well Ok then, now I have to find something else not to like.

I would look for squirrels in the frames, I had a spot that the squirrels loved to trigger my camera. They are fast enough to get out of the frame before it takes a pic. Another thing is the sun, when leaves reflect it, it sometimes triggers the pics.

Don't feel bad, it took me all week of gun season to finally drop one, a button buck. First two days I seen a few but they just didn't give me a shot. Weather was probably one reason, another, for me, was that my food plot was overgrown with tall grass which hid/killed any food for them. Good thing they still use my draw to travel, or I would be SOL this year.

Ok, my take on it; overall not bad, I like the new contrast between the post and the quoted text in the post, makes it easier to follow the conversation. I miss the "unread content" and "mark site read" links on the bottom, it makes you scroll up to the top to select one or the other but the "back button" refreshes the unread content page so no big issue. As far as changes, I don't mind as long as it's to fix something and not to change for the sake of changing or some other aesthetic issue that does not affect everyone. Having a couple different themes is better than constant changes to the main theme IMO.

I have four different ones, all under $100, and they all have their issues which I doubt throwing more money at them will fix. Battery life, photo quality (some blurred due to movement) and trigger with branches and or the sun/shadows and short distance of trigger. But for me, I can live with all that, I only leave them out a month or so at a time right before season, and sometimes during. I am not after great pictures, what I am after is confirmation of movement, time, species, and sex of said movement. If sun triggers more pics, no issue, the card holds hundreds, blurry, no problem as long as I can tell buck or doe, Battery life usually gives me a seasons use, video slightly less so again no issue I just keep fresh ones on-hand, with rechargeable ones for the AA type. And for the distance issues, I make sure to place at funnels or trails to make sure they are within range.

A lesson about pursuit of a BG?
Omega replied to Randall53's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I don't know, I would at least make sure they were indeed leaving my premises, and if fired upon I would return fire. On the face of it I don't see the problem, but then again it is MI, so... -
Sure, why not.

I quite agree, though I was given some good information it was not what I would call training, at most I would call it an introduction. Training should be an individual responsibility, no other right requires any sort of training. I dare say some of those exercising their 1st should be required to have training instead of us, specially those inciting riots and creating racial divides where there isn't any. No, the 2nd should be treated the same as the rest, with no qualifiers.

DIY Plywood 4 wheeler rack. Has anyone done this?
Omega replied to Randall53's topic in Hunting and Fishing
1/2" might be too thin, if you go with plywood I would go with at least 3/4". The dragging part might be a good idea though, specially if steep inclines are involved. I have a skedco I used to use, it should protect the deer from any drag damage, even at that distance. Skedcos are pricey, but they make ones just for deer: https://www.amazon.com/Magnum-Deer-Sleighr-Game-Sled/dp/B001CJI7XA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480012329&sr=8-1&keywords=Deer+Drag+Sleds -
Welcome to TGO, Lee user here as well but any brand will put out good ammo. As been said, get with someone who reloads but confirm what they show you through the manual, other reloaders and some YouTube videos. As for the equipment, my suggestion is one of the turret presses that are sold as kits. It will give you most of what you need until you get to know the process and can decide what you "need" to upgrade.

Try this, if you have any questions just ask.

Did one last year, not to difficult and much less expensive.

So I got me a used travel trailer with AC and heat to replace my older one without AC, or john. The trailer is a hybrid, it has hard sides but two ends also have large doors that open to setup the tents. When shopping around, I decided on this type to reduce the size of the trailer while hauling and still having the room when I arrive. It needed some maintenance and while researching I came across a few articles with tips to use Reflectix to insulate the tent windows and floor. I got a large roll and did as instructed, but had alot left over so decided to do my hunting stand as well. Best thing I've done in awhile, the insulation helps retain the heat quite well and with the portable little buddy heater I was quite comfortable in 24deg weather. The only downside is that when it heats up or cools down it sounds like you are in a bowl of Rice Krispies. They're not too loud though so I don't think the deer will notice. They are like bubble wrap but made of aluminum, so are fragile but more flexible than cooking aluminum. It's real reflective though, so just did about 4', size of roll, and covered over the top foot or so (3' from the top with black closed cell foam board so as not to have contrast through the windows. Will update when I try out the TT tents.

Not bad at all, so far I've not had a shot, and no buck sightings.
-
Yup, nice buck. Good candidate for a mount, traditional or european maybe.

Yeah, I only have one spot I go to, but it has been productive so far. Seen a total of four today, only one let me scope her but no good angle. Did see a fox though, kinda cool watching it catch, something, then sit and sun itself. Going out again tomorrow , and all week until I get something.

War zone here too, I sure hope they weren't hunting deer, just heard what sounded like three or four mag dumps on full auto.
