I got this one, the way I figure if I'm looking for something in the dark, I may want to shoot it. http://www.opticsplanet.com/sightmark-photon-xt-4-6x42s-digital-nvriflescope.html

Optics and upgraded triggers are two things I believe can be made less expensively, with all the automation and CNC, but it would not be conducive to sellers of those items. But you are right in a sense, optics are better than irons. I just dont believe in buying optics that are worth more than my rifle. I still make sure I can hit with my irons, but all my rifles do have optics.

I would rather be well trained, I don't compete so don't need anything super duper. I can put a magazine into an 8" plate through a VTAC shooting barrier with any of my carry guns, and can close that from a bench. With my rifles I can do the same through the barrier and can put a round where I want in a deer. Nice triggers are great, no doubt, I just don't need one. As with your analogy, I would take the Honda and have enough money to get cross country, if I take the Ferrari, it would stay in the garage while I save up enough to pay for the gas.

I've posted here about this same thing before. If I'm doing a build, I may get a polished trigger, such as PSA's, but I haven't messed with any of my handgun or other rifle triggers. Now, my Kimber's trigger is much nicer than my Glock, but it hasn't kept me from using the Glock more.

I don't know, there have been integrated barrels for sometime. I know that 10/22s have had some for almost 20 years.

Not I, not much into crowds. Keep your head on a swivel, you will be unarmed in a high crime area (DC) and probably be lots of protesting going on, especially in non-ticket areas.

TN Lost Reciprocity With Washington State

I realize that, just commenting on the acceptance part. Federal properties don't accept state CCW permits. -
TN Lost Reciprocity With Washington State
Omega replied to 300winmag's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well, sort of. Driver's licenses do have National Reciprocity, for driving, and State Id, in all 50 states. It's only Federal Facilities and Flying, do to TSA that this will affect. I would be comfortable falling under the States Reciprocity CCW enforcement rules like they do Drivers Licences, just because TN allows 18yo and over doesn't mean a reciprocity state needs to. Just like now, a sign has Force of Law here even for CCW permit holders from other states. -
Ha, yea. I considered editing it but I only do that if nobody has called me out on it, or if it doesn't change the post much.

Yea, good catch. But they just reported that its back up., just linked to an old article. http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/politics/2017/01/13/bill-introduced-eliminate-permit-requirement-openly-carry-handguns-tennessee/96538976/

Marines get groundbreaking, unstoppable new rifle magazine
Omega replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
As with many things, there are some politics, even in this. http://kitup.military.com/2012/05/army-stands-ban-unathorized-pmags.html http://www.guns.com/2012/05/26/us-army-improved-magazine-pmag-ban-tan-is-the-plan/ I remember the whole CLP vs Militec-1 when I was in, even though boots on the ground gave the thumbs up to Militec-1 vs CLP, the DOD still banned its use. Luckily for us we had a good stock, sent for free by the mfg after NSN requisitions for it were changed to CLP. Idiots! -
Good for him, wonder if it will hit the mainstream media though.

Umm, pmags have been in use in the Army, at least in SpecOps, for years. They even have a National Stock Number, which was in use at least 3 or 4 years. The MC is just now getting these? While this case, if what was written is true, seems to be a cut and dry case of poaching, I worry that bigger fines may mean that TWRA agents worry more about fines than actually protecting wildlife. But to blatantly shoot a deer on someone else's property (across a road?), then drive onto said property is just asking for it.

Will do, but first send me $50 dollars, I'll take paypal, for the processing fee.

Just reported the same to TGO David, it's a SPAM message from a bot probably. Edit: If you reply they will probably agree to cut you in on the winnings, but first you have to send them your account number, you know, so they know you are serious.

Yea, hopefully the HPA will pass and supersede it. They always leave you in a catch 22.
-
I figure if they are removed from the NFA then they would possibly be like the 80% lowers, or 100% if you have the skills. Heck if you want to push your luck, TN allows you to make them if they are kept in TN.

Welcome, but be careful, we are addictive. Soon you will be buying a parcel of land and digging in for the long haul.

You have a lens crafters near you? They can get Oakley brand prescription lenses, maybe others. -
If flying to Ft Lauderdale, would you take your carry piece with you?
Omega replied to musicman's topic in General Chat
I just take what I carry, if the thieves are smart they will avoid taking bags with weapons. A camera or even laptop goes missing, they will look, but pretty much tell you you're are SOL. A weapon goes missing, at an airport and I am sure all hell will break loose, and I am sure they don't want the increased scrutiny. Besides, unless you get what you train with, you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. If you have to do that make sure to get some range time with your new gun. -

I would not change anything I would normally do. I would check with the airline, just in case they change their rules though.
