I bought a Country Trails grinder from Rural King after looking at many models. For the price ~$60 at the time, I figured if it lasted a couple deer seasons I would be OK with that. It does have the plastic gears so I was wary about that, but so far I have ground over 100lbs with it with no issues. I do want a LEM, but I have to have much more use for one than I do now to justify the price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Country-Trails-Heavy-Duty-3-4HP-575-Watt-Meat-Grinder-113-/381594883935

Any interest in having an area to discuss Gun/Shooting apps under Special Interest or General Interest? I use Strelok, some reloading apps and recently installed some shooting clock apps to try out and wanted to see if any others out there were using PC, or phone apps and what they thought about them. I know I have seen a few posts here and there about such programs but it's been scattered throughout the site. Or does everyone just look at the area that pertains to the activity such as Tactics and Training for a shooting clock app and Concealed Carry for posted business' apps?

Clarification David S. Mackiernan
Omega replied to David S. Mackiernan's topic in New Member Introductions
That's why I never use my real name as a screen name, too many loons out there. I don't hide it or anything, but only the ones with a need to know will know. -
In the long run probably the lawyers. That's $2,250.00 initially and the same every year, for now anyway. So if you need to register for say five years, that's $11,250 even though you have no plans to export anything. If you challenge the law, and make it a class action lawsuit then the lawyer fee can be spread out and or maybe some of these pro 2A organizations can also join in.
-
That's a pretty good price for that bundle, though I wish it had a certified rating or at least release the results of the independent testing on those plates (the video was nice to see). Most plates run around $250-$300 a set just by themselves, so for anyone just getting a system this is definitely a good deal.

Remington 700 Police 26' Barrel Scope & Mount Question
Omega replied to The Legion's topic in Long Guns
I received my Vortex Crossfire II in the mail yesterday, it will sit atop my .277 Wolverine AR with a 20" barrel. Hope to reach out and touch some yotes and a deer or two with this puppy come hunting season. It came with a hood (and a free T-Shirt) which always seemed to cost more to purchase with other brands. -
Next we will need an FFL and ITAR registration to own lathes, files and sandpaper. Me thinks TN's law AKA Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act, will soon have it's first challenge.
-
So can you thread your own barrel? Or is it restricted only if you do it for pay? 80% receivers? Form 1 suppressors? Are there any new restrictions or has this mostly been in place for some time?
-
I'm not much into external plate carriers anymore, though I have been through a few. Currently I have a NOC Concealment System which does have an external portion if you need to go from level IIIa to level IV (plates). I use SPEAR level IV plates in the carrier whenever I want to go observe some training with aerial gunnery.

Are you a Vet or LEO? http://www.vortexoptics.com/content/military_le_program If so, highly recommend their scopes. -
I may look into an elk draw, but white tail are abundant on my property so no need for that. As for trail cameras, yes there is definitely some trial and error on placement. Between squirrels, the sun and even moving branches I get a lot of blank pictures. My other problem is that even though I don't use the cameras much they do not last. A couple only lasted a year then started to shut off even though it had good batteries. It sucks going two weeks between checking only to find out they shut down right after you left.

Yea, I get it. I hate the fact that they can even do that; a Bill should stand or fall on its own merits. It should not be able to be changed that significantly (opposite meaning IMO) once it gets that far. I also hate when Bills get Riders, whose only sole way to pass is by being added to a Bill that has a chance. If it can't pass on its own, then maybe it shouldn't pass.
-
Still, even though they still think the bill passed as was originally intended, someone may still see this bill, as passed, a good reason not to continue posting. Unless I totally misunderstand the bill, a business is not liable if they do not post; correct?

I like it, I too wondered why they didn't allow CCW at these events. As for people having some common sense, well that is the issue now isn't it? But I would rather see these rules relaxed, the more this is common place the more we as a society will settle into a norm. Hopefully some of those norms will be more safety when handling loaded weapons. If I am looking for a holster for a certain weapon, I bring it along but not as my concealed carry. That way I can handle it all day long and not worry about clearing it in a room full of people.

!!! I know what our SAW gunners are going to want now.

I don't rightly care if he was just going to remove a bunion! He, and the rest have a right to travel without being impeded by anyone unnecessarily. These BLM folks need to get a life, and these brainwashed non- blacks in these protests need to get a brain. I bet most of them don't even get the grasp of the whole situation, they are just there to be included. Sooner or later there is going to be some backlash, and it won't be pretty.
-
I don't know, it seems it's pretty cut and dry to me. If you decide to leave without fulfilling your obligation, I'd be prepared to reimburse them for the time and training that went into the apprenticeship program. While they may let you go without a hassle, you may not want to use them as a reference, which will be difficult since you seem to need to include the apprenticeship program on your resume. And if they decide to collect on the debt, I'm sure they can afford the legal bills more than you can, even if they don't win.

I'll have to look at the TN specific law but the term Castle Doctrine in some jurisdictions do apply to your vehicle. Here is what one site says about TN law: http://www.gunlaws101.com/state/law/tennessee/stand-your-ground

I whole heartedly agree that culture is to blame for these situations, but on what culture we disagree. When I am pulled over, I don't disrespect the LEO, I don't try and second guess the reason for the stop. In my youth I too had run-ins with, lets say less than stellar, police officers, but that didn't make me out to hate the entire institution. Lately I have seen too many automatically start to argue with an officer even though they, the citizen, was in the wrong. For the most part No, you did not get pulled over because you were black, brown, or white trailer trash; you were either pulled over for a traffic offence, or worse yet because you match the description of someone who committed a crime. When an officer pulls you over for a traffic offence, he may not know that you just committed a robbery, car jacking, or murder and that you will not be taken in alive; He is just doing his job. When you are pulled over, you don't know that he just come off of a robbery where someone that looks like you just murdered the clerk and a couple of customers. You are armed, and in either case it is not smart to mouth off and make the situation worse, or worse yet make sudden movements triggering a response. The culture today is what is making it an us against them climate, and it's not entirely the police officers fault. I do believe that there needs to be a whole lot of changes on both sides to get the situation a bit better; but it will not be the way BLM wants it to be, and definitely not the way the Black Panther Party wants it. The numbers don't lie, it is not about race since whites, blacks and browns get killed when something goes bad during a LEO confrontation, if anything the numbers on the black side seem a bit low to me considering the crime stats. I don't see anyone but BLM and BPP protesting though; and if they were honest about the whole thing they would be protesting in the inner cities against the criminals there instead of Capitol Hill.

Apparently level IV plates and steel penetrators, maybe depleted uranium by the sound of it. Right now they are expected to engage 7.62 carrying armor wearing POS terrorists with level IIIa armor and either 9mm or .40 handguns.

**WINNERS** Christmas in July - TGO Benefactor Giveaway
Omega replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
I must say, this is a very generous gift. A big Thank You to the donor, and a Merry Christmas in July to all. -
I don't know, myself, I know what side of this fight I'm on. Are there bad cops out there, sure, just like bad soldiers, bad firefighters etc., but as a whole they do a necessary job that others don't want to do. I support them when it's necessary and call for disciplinary action or prosecution when deemed appropriate. The indiscriminate shooting of law enforcement is just low, and nothing anyone can say will make me think otherwise. Those shooters should be put down in the street like the rabid dogs that they are.

That's rough, Strelok on mine is backed up to an online service, Google Drive, but you have to back it up every now and then to keep the data fresh. Is your phone wiped out or can you access the files or sd chip?
