  1. What exactly does the ordinance state?
  2. Panthers are actually leopards (bigger with spots), while Mountain lions are cougars (smaller, no spots) but they are called by different names; puma, and catamount being the others.
  3. I think that just protects hunters from being harassed by non-hunters ala PETA.  Here in Clarksville, there is no ordinance against shooting within city limits, only a noise ordinance, so many areas can be hunted if other items are adhered to; such as distance from a road or dwelling.
  4. I would get one if it was cheaper.  At over $800 they can keep it, I'll stick to a bow or crossbow...But I like the concept, and if it gets some following then maybe the price tag will come down to a more affordable level.
  5. Armed night watch or half dozen Rottweiler's may do the trick.  Heck a few 220 volt wires around the gun cases may deter them a bit.
  6. Hmm, I wonder what not being bred has to do with it? I figured it was an over abundance of does in unit L so culling was in the best interest of the herd. If not enough get bred, that signals a shortage of deer and instead of culling, then you would want to protect the ones that have been bred so less doe quotas, no? Good enough for me, but I wish they would make regs a bit more user friendly instead of having us interpret our own meaning out of them.
  7. You sure about that, not questioning you, just would like some confirmation?  I wanted to take a friend out but I thought it was for the land owner only.  I wonder what the premise is for the extra week?  I figured it was more for ranchers to minimize crop loss, specially since its only the weekdays that are open.
  8. And that is exactly what the Democrats count on.  Democrats vote Democrat no matter what, it's us on the right that divide our votes because the Republican doesn't meet all our preconceived ideas of what a Republican should be.  Don't get me wrong, I am not a Donald supporter, and I will not be voting for him in the Primary.  But when it comes to the choice of Hillary or whomever the Republicans put up...I will go Republican. I will not let others decide who represent us in the White House, I don't care if the Republican doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell in TN, I will still give my vote to them.
  9. That's just the title, read the actual statement:   "The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution has been under attack for a long time.  For some reason, people who have no trouble believing that the 1st Amendment applies to free speech as an individual right, don't accept the same for the 2nd Amendment.  Also, those who have no problem believing that the 1st Amendment applies to verbal speech as well as TV, radio, cellular and satellite communications think that the 2nd Amendment just applies to muskets!!  The founders put the 2nd Amendment into the U.S. Constitution as an individual right as a protection against tyranny, to give the people the ability to fight back against a corrupt government.  Ironically, the best tools for that job are assault rifles (machine guns) and high-capacity magazines.  These are the very firearms which are under attack the most even though they are responsible for fewer deaths each year than are hammers, knives, fists, etc.  Send a message to Congress to leave our gun rights alone!"   ---------------------------------------------  While I support the sentiment, I don't think a petition from this site will accomplish anything.  Even the White House site accomplished little, and that is supposed to be the official way to petition Government change.  They changed the number of signatures required there to keep from doing anything...I guess Boston Tea Parties are the only thing that get their attention.
  10. Seen these at Walmart as well as Rural King and even Harbor Freight check pricing to get the best deal. Not much to them just threaded to mate to both cylinders. It's not hard but there is a trick to it. First screw in the filler valve onto the 20lb cylinder, then turn the 20lb upside down, then screw in the 1lb cylinder (some say chill the 1lb first) then open the 20lb's valve and fill until it stops flowing then shut off the 20lb's valve and unscrew the 1lb cylinder. Have a set of needle nose pliers handy to jiggle the 1lb cylinder's needle valve if necessary. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Enerco-Mr-Heater-F276172-Propane-Tank-Refill-Adapter/21799898
  11. Most of the stories I read say they had laid down their arms, registered them, and many joined the police force.  Sounds to me that the Autodefensas, Self Defence Force did what the government failed to do.
  12. The bag I got packs well, I got it at Rural King but mine doesn't have that large red stripe. http://www.ruralking.com/portable-buddy-heater-carry-bag.html?fee=2&fep=117177&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=Cj0KEQiAzai0BRCs2Yydo8yptuIBEiQAN3_lFrgsgRetR9HDj9YxIB_7GWfODHxz9THIIxLGJNP4fhQaAlkP8P8HAQ
  13. Yea, I have, but those posts get dropped to the bottom quick.  I reviewed a headset some time back and it took me a few minutes to find it again.  No big issue really, most times I review products on the sites I buy them from, but like I mentioned it's a crap shoot with some sites.
  14. I considered getting that hose but many of the posts I read about the setup said it required the filter. I have one of those refill valves to refill the 1lb cylinders with the 20lb so no need to keep buying those expensive 1lb cylinders. I also got the carrying case with it, it lets me have 3 1lb cylinders which is well above what I need for one full day. If next year turns out to be a colder hunting season it will let me give it a full workout so may resort to that setup if I have issues as is.
  15. There is no way this blind can hold any heavy or light gas.  I can see light through the roof's leading and trailing edge and in parts of the floor, plus its a trap door entrance.  But that is a very good point, I would not recommend this for trailer or tents that are more air tight without a co2 alarm.  I got an alarm for my portable trailer for this exact reason, it has a propane heater built-in.
  16. Good, not that he's allergic, but that you may know what it is.  Sure would be a shame to have to give up the kid
  17. Last year during hunting season I froze, I had an original Mr Heater Heater which worked OK but it sounds like a little jet engine and uses too much gas. You also pretty much have to be right next to it to get any heat. So before hunting season I decided I needed an upgrade, I looked at the upgraded single burner Little Buddy and the Portable Buddy and decided on the bigger one due to btu ranges. Well, this whole season I really didn't need it as temps were pretty much bearable...until today. With temp at 34 degrees at noon I decided to test it out. First thing I noticed was how quiet it is, even with my hearing amplified headset its barely noticeable. The unit gives off some decent heat: the blind is 8x8x7 with non insulated 3/4" OSB walls or roof though on the floor I have those mats that lock together and the roof has tar paper and roofing tiles. The windows are single pane 1/8" plexiglass, closed of course. Been running on low for one hour, outdoor temp says 36, indoor reads 57 deg. The only thing that gives me pause, and that's with both, is the propane smell, not sure how that will effect the deer, I don't think it will be an issue since I got deer last year with the other one running but that may of been a fluke or the wind was in my favor. I'll update this as I find any other things that come up such as how long this cylinder lasts. This might be my last day hunting so it may be next season for any more pros and cons. Edit: 1640, outside temp 37 inside 58 degrees. Cylinder is frosted to about halfway up, but no sign of running out yet. Says it will get 6 hours on low, might be about right.
  18. Before I buy a product I look for reviews to see what others think of it.  Some sites are better than others, but some reviews seem to be from users that either complain about pidly stuff to others that just seem to be in cahoots with the sellers.  I was wondering if there could be a dedicated section for product or service reviews?  I think I would trust locals better, and you could also post or pm questions not covered or unclear to the OP.
  19. One year I took the kids and MIL to Sukchon DZ on Ft Campbell, to watch the Leonid meteor shower, great view with not much light out.  Got to see many small ones and a couple that really lit the sky up.
  20. So would one that shed both get logged in as a button buck?  How else do you report one like that?
  21. I just can't justify the cost.  I don't really experiment outside published reliable recipes though so never needed to ask "what if".  I think if you work wildcats or non published powders then it may be worth it, but just not for me.
  22. Combine some, or introduce them again one day when she is just out of the bath so the only product on her is the baby soap.
  23. I didn't realize I had you blocked until I couldn't see your post    Edit: for some reason sometimes my text jumps to the quoted area when I am answering posts...must be a chrome/tablet thing.  I fixed it.
  24. I hardly ever ate my MRE on night jumps (always started way too early so we missed lunch and dinner), so I saved them and would give them to the kids.  They loved the  crackers w/peanut butter or the cheese, and the dehydrated strawberries or fruit.  They still talk about it and my youngest is almost 29.
  25. I seldom block anyone to avoid their posts, the quotes always come through and I haven't had anyone pi$$ me off enough to completely block them.  I do use it as a tool though, on here and another site I regularly visit I block some because their posts are way to verbose and after reading it once...if at all, it takes too long to scroll up or down through them on following visits.  And when someone has been particularly rude to me, I block them to mark them as someone to avoid, because I don't remember them any other way.
