  1. That is where the boating accidents come in. They can have all the records they want, but I have no duty to keep track of what happened to those purchases. In the future, I am sure you can't buy one even privately without the risk of getting yourself arrested by an informant, but all those past purchases are in the wind as far as I'm concerned.
  2. No pic, but I got my doe Monday after Sunday's rains. I decided that the all night rain would keep them bedded, and should have movement the next day. Was worried about fog though, as I was driving in Sunday night, it was bad in some spots. She came out about 9:30, at the top left corner or my property, looked right at the shoot house so I thought she would bolt. But she kept coming, I must of got tunnel vision because after I dropped her (bang-flop) one called about four or five times from somewhere in the back, then I see another come out and started walking toward the dropped doe. She too looked right at me, but either didn't see me or it didn't spook her. She hung around for about 10 minutes, and seen another walking around the woodline too. So there must have been at least three doe, and possibly a buck which didn't show himself. Anyway, done for the season unless another friends requests one.
  3. Which puts Knox County at a .89% death rate, or .95% if you use the other table on the same page, which begs the question, why the difference. https://covid.knoxcountytn.gov/case-count.html Edit: TN 2018 stats put Knox County at 10.3% death rate, no data I could find for 2019 or 2020 so far. https://www.tn.gov/content/dam/tn/health/documents/vital-statistics/death/2018/TN Deaths - 2018.pdf Edit again: Knox County had 263 drug OD deaths in 2018. https://www.tn.gov/health/health-program-areas/pdo/pdo/data-dashboard.html
  4. Which is why I would use a CB radio instead. A HAM Operators license is to use the range of freqs required to operate the radio, same if you wanted to broadcast on any restricted frequency like AM or FM, and that is to keep one from stepping on another.
  5. Haha, so you are equating learning how to read and right to gun training? So what minimum level of classes would you propose we have before being able to post on the internet? I can speak Spanish too, so do I get to post on multilingual sites too? I agree, people do stupid things, and I've always argued that we need to get rid warning labels to let nature take it's course, not add more labels or laws.
  6. When I, and many here I suspect, got my first gun (at16), I had 0 training. No internet, no YouTube videos, and no friends to show me. I got through it, and haven't accidentally shot anyone, nor myself. Yea, did some questionable things as a kid, some gun related, that now I'd never consider doing, but that was growing up back then. Thing is, we have tried to be a nanny to all by mandating this and that, which should not be the case for ANY right, imagine needing training and licencing to exercise your 1st amendment right, people would go nuts, and arguably, you can harm more people exercising that right.
  7. Got any in blaze orange?
  8. Ummm, thanks for agreeing with me??
  9. What price were they offering them for? I have been buying lead at around $1 a lb, plus shipping, and every now and then I'll grab a better deal. I would love to get in on a boat keel, or x-ray room demolishing gig, I would be set for life..well for a long time anyway.
  10. Count me in that too, way too much fear and misinformation being doled out by the media and "experts" all the while they don't practice what they preach. I'll go on record as saying this is a hoax, not so much the virus, that is real and we are losing some good people over it. But the reaction to it, I do not know the real reason for this, but "Flattening the curve" is not it. When the numbers of total US dead comes out, unless manipulated like the election, it will show no significant increase in 2020 numbers vs 2019 or 2018. Preliminary numbers already show this, only like a 1.5 percent increase, which has happened before, due to population increase and other, non China Flu related reasons.
  11. Been a long time since I watched any old movies, this was one of the good ones. Hopefully the statue doesn't get on the lefties radar.
  12. Nah, 55yo, 69", 230lbs, survived 3 parachute mishaps, one broken plate, a couple UXO, and a few near misses. I've learned from an early age that I was mortal, but besides hiding in a basement for the rest of my life (It would get me there too), there's very little I can do to prevent my demise. Don't get me wrong, I'm not stupid, like going around licking toilet lids, I do take basic precautions, but just don't believe those in power have my best interests in mind. When those that place these restrictions in place start to follow their own guidelines, then, maybe, I'll begin to listen.
  13. Sometimes, you just have to make the choice.
  14. I'd call that my last resort, keep running chkdsk/r to see if it can get through the issue. When it's running, it's trying to repair any issues it may have. It also marks the bad sectors so they won't be used again, sometimes it looks to be "stuck", but it's still working. If you have an indicator light, it blinks when the hard drive is being accessed, as long as it keeps blinking, even if it's just now and then, let it keep running. The good news is, more than likely the HD is ok, just a software issue. Dell puts a hidden partition on the hard drive to recover the pc, which Dell will happily charge you for if you send it to them. Here are a couple of links which may get you through a complete factory restore. You WILL lose any personal data on it though, so use it only if there's nothing you need on your HD. https://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/access-recovery-boot-partition-windows-10/ https://www.minitool.com/backup-tips/factory-reset-command-prompt-021.html
  15. If you're so worried, get a temp job at an old folks home, they'll hook you right up. The way I look at is is this; We were born with an expiration date, and if you believe in destiny, then a manner of death too, so why waste time worrying about it.
  16. I believe so, most antivirus programs have a rescue disk of sorts.
  17. I have plenty of unregistered weapons, but I did want to get an 80% AR lower just to see if I could do it. I do not have the skill to make one from a 0%, otherwise I would want to do that. For me, it is not about having a registered or unregistered weapon, it's just because I can if I choose to. The only thing that stopped me, so far, is that weapons were available much cheaper than a DIY.
  18. He has a key, but it's for the Dell OEM version. Call Dell, they may be able to help with that part. What did chksdk give you? Any message? Bad sectors, unable to access etc. Run: Chkdsk/r so it will repair any; if it's running the scan, your HD may be ok, just may of lost or damaged its allocation table or registry. http://winwi.net/how-to-fix-file-allocation-table.html
  19. Do you get a [C:] prompt? if you do run chkdsk to see if you can recover the disk. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/chkdsk You can also try going to your settings pre-boot: https://www.prosofteng.com/support/mediatoolswipe/changing-your-pcs-boot-device-priority/ There you can change where to boot from, it may not be allowed to boot from USB.
  20. Create, or have someone create a rescue disk for you, boot from the disk and run a diagnostic of the hard drive. Also, when you boot up, listen for and count the beeps, they mean something. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000124349/understanding-beep-codes-on-a-dell-desktop-pc
  21. Seems that now no matter if you get it or not you will still be mandated to wear masks and isolate yourself, sooooo, yea no shots for me. Can I stop wearing a mask after getting a COVID-19 vaccine? https://newschannel9.com/news/nation-world/can-i-stop-wearing-a-mask-after-getting-a-covid-19-vaccine
  22. Yea, I have had to put down a few, two on a piece of property that was vacant for years next to my house. When one got hit, and the local LEO had to call in and get permission to dispatch the deer, he had to shoot twice, I don't recall what the round was, but it was a shotgun and looked like some kind of small shot instead of slug or 00 buck. So the next two times it happened I just used my Glock .40 to do it, faster and no permission needed. On Hwy 149, going to my hunting area, I have had to do it a few times, don't know what hit them but they were left alive, so had to pull over and go back to dispatch them.
  23. I don't know, sounds like they may have had a reason. Seems her ip address wad used to access an emergency communication system to send out an unauthorized message. And, notice it was just regular LEO, not a swat team with helicopter support as in Gen Flynn's case. https://www.tallahassee.com/story/news/2020/12/07/agents-raid-home-fired-florida-data-scientist-who-built-covid-19-dashboard-rebekah-jones/6482817002/ "Ms. Jones refused to come to the door for 20 minutes and hung up on agents. After several attempts and verbal notifications that law enforcement officers were there to serve a legal search warrant, Ms. Jones eventually came to the door and allowed agents to enter," Plessinger said. "Ms. Jones' family was upstairs when agents made entry into the home." Of course non of that is shown in the video.
  24. Much depends on how active the deer is, if you can, place it at the base of the neck hitting the spine, right where the head meets neck. It puts it down quick, but be prepared for a follow up in case you miss the spine. If it's up and about, or very active, then I go for the heart area, just behind the leg, there are many vitals there that will do the job.
