  1. We were at a private range recently and there is a gentleman there who is a Korean war vet, some of you might know him from Bend of the River in Putnam County. I broke out my 1911 for the first time in a long time during the handgun practice and he gave me a quick lesson over in a corner. I came in 2nd out of 6 shooters for the competition, all the rest were men. He was first. He laughed and said see? That's why I teach women, they listen unlike you guys. Later on, he got out his competition guns, I have never seen anything like them in my life. The grips were apparently made in Europe but they were carved out of blocks of wood to fit his hand. Simply amazing. That kind of color, style and grip I can respect. It was amazing to see.
  2. I just about fell out of my chair. You're the reason I have been staying away!!! So much talent GT. I love all 3 of them. Totally stunning. I gave my tattoo artist the set of knives I had you make, we finally finished my sleeve. He loved them.
  3. Surprise, we didn't fall off the face of the earth. With that being said, every wife is different. Tell her that it is common place in the southern states for wives to be accepting or encouraging of gun and whiskey/bourbon collections. It's the polite and wifely duty.
  4. It would be the best money ever spent. I've spent the whole night staring at them. These photos so do not do them justice. They're just gorgeous.
  5. You have no idea. The grip and the feel is unlike anything. I sent him a photo of what I wanted and I bought both sets because I couldn't decide. You guys would be lucky to have a pair, they feel natural in the hand. I don't know which set is my favorite, but they will both be treasured forever. I am beyond in love with both sets!!
  6. I am gonna sound crazy compared to most but I carry my g29 on my person and my 20 in my purse. 2 extra mags for my 29 and 3 for my 20. I also carry my 2 GT Kiradishi knives as well.
  7. Bob's Liquor is where I go when I can swing a trip. We have a member who works there and they have pretty much everything and anything you can think of. 9am - 9:30pm. (865)693-2483. You can always call on your way up next time and see if they have any.
  8. I only deal with mutts and I do believe this gentleman is set on a "pure bred". I would strongly urge you to do your research in the process and make certain that you deal with a reputable breeder. Sadly the AKC backs a lot of puppy mills and supports them by not cracking down on them. I'd avoid any breeders out of Oklahoma and Missouri if possible because of that. Make sure you have full access to both parents and can view the whole property. Otherwise I'd stick to my recommendation of adoption. Big Fluffy Dog Rescue out of Nashville might have a golden. My local rescue only adopts to the north-east now so. All my pups went north or went to TGO members and one went to a neighbor of TDR.
  9. Unless the lady is smart and likes percussion more! I'm just saying, it's not always strings...
  10. We used the safe house too, we ended up with a great deal although I still had to swallow a lot of tums writing that check. They delivered to us all the way out in the woods and even sadly broke a tire off their trailer. The ladies we dealt with were amazingly easy and nice and the delivery guys looked like they belonged in titans uniforms. It's hard to find someone bigger than monkey but they were. Expert delivery, to the exact spot we wanted it. And get as big as you can. Ours has become a gun safe that houses bourbon and important files as well. LOL
  11. This looks really interesting. I had a "SheBang" which was made for full size guns but it didn't do well with my 20 or 29. This might be a good solution! Let us know how it works for you after a week or so!
  12. Listen, that can happen at anytime. I'm not familiar with that one either. But I think if I get one, I'd have to get all black. I'm very curious about them and interested, but with my current AR, I don't know if the need is really there. I think it's more of a want.
  13. It is! We've been toying with the idea. I just don't like how toy'ish it looks. Buds has a great price on them online. I think almost $100 or so cheaper than buying them straight from the manufacturer. The problem is I can't find one local to hold. But that hasn't stopped me in the past when it came to rifles.
  14. No, that isn't it, although I will need to read about it! Ha! I will need to look for a link.
  15. Start with the 20 and then ask for the 40 for Christmas! My 29 is my EDC and when I put my 20 on, whew, it is a HUGE difference. But then again it's because it's OWB. I've often thought about the 40 but I don't see the need for it (for me). However, Monkey and I have been eyeing a really neat looking Rifle that shoots 10mm and THAT I DO NEED!! But I need to get my hands on one and feel it first. Or not. But if I get 1, I'll have to get 2 because of you know who.
  16. I bought a 29 for my husband and 3 days later I found one in NiB-X. This was our first venture into 10mm for both of us and we hadn't tested his yet. I still bought it. The guy at the store thought I was nuts, but I did. 2 years later it's still my EDC. Every gun I have ever bought, I've only held it, never shot it, except for my 590a1. Guess which one I regret? LOL Turns out I am not a fan of the $800 Mossburg.
  17. So this was released today. If you liked the first one, this one looks like it will be just as good if not better. Also, there's a slight Matrix reunion and I'm excited to see how that pans out!!
  18. I want. I need. I love. So beautiful! Amazing job done, I'm sad it isn't mine!
  19. I can't find one. I'd did give me G&L and NA as two Ruger distributors but that's it. So I'll be patient and wait. I guess it's grocery shopping and baked ziti time instead.
  20. I'm really stuck and I only carry my 29sf. However, I really like the look of this A LOT. I think I know what I'm doing today now. We've been stagnant lately and haven't bought anything new and we do not own a Ruger. I think it's time to take a look.
  21. I'm not one to racial profile, but he for sure does not look Hispanic in my opinion. Those features a very dark. Could be a bad camera angle, or you've hit the nail on the head.
  22. I gotta say, my first EDC was my 29 and still is to this day. I am LOVING the all grey 20!! Poor Monkey might need to let me get one!
  23. It's actually called WIC (Woman, Infants and Children). It's for single women or women in low income relationships to help feed the kids. If a mother breastfeeds her coupons double because there's a stinger need for good nutrition because of the breastfeeding child. Otherwise it's coupons to cover formula. As a teenager I would go with my mom who worked for MSU to deliver them to mom's who had just given birth. It's why I didn't ever have a child as a teenager. I helped deliver WIC coupons to girls my age. As for the EBT part, what comes first? The chicken or the egg? Until you elect officials into office who truly want reform, we as the middle class will continue to support broken programs. But unless you live a perfect life on the up and up, you really shouldn't give two seconds of thought to someone else's business. Might as well get a Facebook for posts like this one. My single mom worked her butt off and we had government assistance which back then was food stamps before everything became electronic. But I guess she was terrible because once or twice a week we'd get pop and Burger King or Little Ceasars. @LINKS2K is 100% right in his posts. To judge someone from a tiny window, makes you no better.
