  1. Depending on the outcome of the election, these might be the next thing that might be hard to find.
  2. Thanks, I must have been having a senior moment
  3. Wow !!! How did this slip through the cracks. A Nashville, Tennessee, councilwoman wants those who don’t wear face masks during the coronavirus pandemic to be charged with attempted murder. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/nashville-city-councilwoman-recommends-attempted-murder-charges-for-some-not-wearing-face-masks
  4. I went through this a couple of times with them. The few times I've ordered from them since, I've called their 1-800 number and twice the person I talked to told me what I wanted was out of stock even though their website said it was in stock.
  5. She, unlike us old folks, may never need a red dot
  6. From the TWRA website: The Pygmy Rattlesnake (also Pigmy) is the smallest, and one of the least known, venomous snakes in Tennessee. One subspecies, Western Pygmy Rattlesnake (S. m. streckeri), occurs along the western Highland Rim from Stewart County to the southern border. Status in Tennessee: Western Pygmy Rattlesnake is listed as Threatened by TWRA, and considered rare to very rare and imperiled by Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. Fun Facts: The tiny rattle sounds like the faint buzz of an insect and can usually be heard no farther than 3 feet. Pygmy Rattlesnakes are good swimmers.
  7. He should have been gone a long time ago. From April of last year: National Rifle Association President Oliver North has been ousted after an alleged extortion scheme within the group’s highest-ranking officials came to light on Friday. In a statement, North told the organization he was “informed” he would not be nominated for reelection. North’s term ends Monday. The NRA’s chief executive, Wayne LaPierre, wrote a letter to the board Thursday accusing North of plotting to remove him from the group by threatening to release to the board “damaging” information about LaPierre. He claimed North, a former Marine Corps lieutenant colonel perhaps best known for his role in the Iran-contra affair, was pressuring him to resign over alleged financial transgressions. “Delivered by a member of our Board on behalf of his employer, the exhortation was simple: resign or there will be destructive allegations made against me and the NRA,” LaPierre wrote in the letter, which was published Friday by the Wall Street Journal. North continued his resignation letter by saying he believes the NRA should establish a committee to review the organization’s finances, which he said constitute a “clear crisis” that “needs to be dealt with” if the NRA wants to continue to be a viable organization. The Wall Street Journal reported that North, who became NRA president last year, defended himself in a letter to the board Thursday, indicating his actions were “for the good of the NRA.” North previously wrote a longer letter to the board’s executive committee, alleging LaPierre had made more than $200,000 of wardrobe purchases and charged them to a vendor. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/04/27/nra-chief-wayne-lapierre-claims-hes-being-extorted-by-oliver-north-hes-standing-his-ground/
  8. It's not a cottonmouth, copperhead or coral snake, so if it's (was) poisonous it could be one of these Western Rattlesnake:
  9. I've been a life member of the NRA for quite a while and after reading this thread, I joined GOA. My phone has been ringing off the hook for weeks now with the caller ID showing it is the NRA. You can almost see the hand wanting money sticking out of the phone.
  10. Your son is a very wise person . I heard that on my first boat in '64 and after many ASW operations, I became a true believer.
  11. The only good Marine is a Submarine
  12. I wouldn't touch that statement with a ten foot pole
  13. There's a lot of things to like about the 92s and very few ( I can't think of any ) things to dislike. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I picked up a Beretta M9-22 a while back.
  14. It's often been said that you don't have to outrun a bear, just the other people with you
  15. I realize that this was a tragedy and many people died or were hurt but sometimes I just can't help myself.

  19. An interesting article on the subject: Phone memory and processing To put that into more concrete terms, the latest phones typically have 4GB of RAM. That is 34,359,738,368 bits. This is more than one million (1,048,576 to be exact) times more memory than the Apollo computer had in RAM. The iPhone also has up to 512GB of ROM memory. That is 4,398,046,511,104 bits, which is more seven million times more than that of the guidance computer. But memory isn’t the only thing that matters. The Apollo 11 computer had a processor – an electronic circuit that performs operations on external data sources – which ran at 0.043 MHz. The latest iPhone’s processor is estimated to run at about 2490 MHz. Apple do not advertise the processing speed, but others have calculated it. This means that the iPhone in your pocket has over 100,000 times the processing power of the computer that landed man on the moon 50 years ago. https://www.realclearscience.com/articles/2019/07/02/your_mobile_phone_vs_apollo_11s_guidance_computer_111026.html
  20. This is probably the only thing that the Postal Service is delivering on time nowadays. State agriculture officials are urging the U.S. Postal Service to stop delivering the mysterious seed packages that have been arriving in mailboxes across the country, mailings that federal officials believe are coming from China. https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/u-s-postal-service-is-urged-to-stop-delivering-mysterious-seeds
  21. These are fantastic. The small size will pick up everything from 380 and up https://d2y5sgsy8bbmb8.cloudfront.net/v2/552efdac-f34e-5efb-872c-61334e892aef/ShortForm-Generic-480p-16-9-1409173089793-rpcbe5.mp4
