Prayers for all who are being affected by this, whether by the illness itself or one of the side effects of it. The public in general is feeling the side effects to varying degrees, some more than others depending on their situation.

Is pulling your boat to the lake, non-essential??
jpx2rk replied to Dirtshooter's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I've got a boat, but the RARE days of sunshine we get get are usually just for part of the day, so I head to the gun range for a couple hours, and to get out of the house. I did get "out of the house" yesterday, washed 2 vehicles, got one waxed, the other one gets waxed today. I was "out" in the garage so it was a different environment for a while. Any bets on another drought this July/August/Sept time frame???? I got the other vehicle waxed today, then mowed the yard, so I've been "out of the house" for the majority of 2 days, it sure helps the mind, even if I'm doing something productive for a change. I got the same email yesterday, now if the weather would cooperate. I'm really tired of being inside the house, we've had crappy weather for the most part in 2020. -
area-tri-cities Gun show in Kingsport Tn

Saw the signs for a gun show in Sweetwater for this weekend as well when I passed thru earlier today. -
Boats depreciate just like cars and other vehicles (excluding collector type vehicles). If you feel like you will use the boat more than some of the guns in the safe, try selling those guns and use the $$ for the purchase of the boat, or buy the boat with some borrowed funds, sell the guns to pay of the loan. The break out another thousand for the boat is true, but the same can be said for some/most guns as they never seem to be "finished" in some form, needs a new scope, new stock, etc.. A cheap/inexpensive gun can still be double or triple the initial cost after it's customized to your liking.

One news clip stated he had a on-going feud with a co-worker, but that was all the clip said. I read on another firearm forum the shooter had 2 hand guns, one with a silencer, but no other details. Since it was not a AR style firearm, it's not as news worthy, handguns are common place now with HCP's, etc.

I heard on one news clip that the brewery was undergoing a "restructuring", and 400 jobs would be eliminated sometime in the near future. He may have been in the first wave under the RIF.

Google says the average life span for a bald eagle is ~20 yrs, so it's a wise old bird, and probably won't tell anybody it's "honey hole" location. It's getting fat and lazy in it's golden years. LOL

My wife says I smell up the house too, even when I'm not home.

Less smelly gun cleaning solvent options
jpx2rk replied to Snaveba's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I use #9, Butches Bore Shine and Pro Shot, no complaints from the SO when I clean guns at the house. I usually clean 'em at the range except for the rimfire pistols for some reason. -
At least it moves along faster than the NFL but I haven't watch an entire game yet.

I thought the majority of SB ads failed in a big way this year, at least the game was a good one. -
What was your last/next range toy? [with pictures]

Google says a golf ball is 1.680" in diameter, so please provide regular updates on this project/friendly competition. Let us know when you guys get to the "consistent" part at 300yds ok. It sounds like it would be a blast to try with a 22LR. -
Mine had the opportunity for a free ride to college (me) but she wasn't willing to put forth the effort grade wise, so the free ride was no more. Hind sight has regrets now.

I can relate to some extent. Daughter says nothing about my gun hobby, and goes to the range with me on occasion along with the grandson. But everything else is 100% democrat, anti Trump, pro whoever is against Trump so we just don't discuss politics at all. Wife can't figure out where she went wrong.

Might consider this to mount the press, I have 2 LEE single stage presses mounted to it, easy to move, and it does break down to some extent for storage. Could store it in a corner somewhere. It fits thru a interior doorway w/o breaking it down, fairly stable as well. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1012719865?pid=629993 I would avoid the "shed" as much as possible, it'll be hot or cold the majority of the time.

Where does a Contender and Super 14" barrel fit in?

Pretty much what I figured, so I can keep my tuner and front rider plate then.

Hozzie; With the info you have about the changes and proposed changes in the ARA classes, what class do you think a stock Anschutz MPR 64 would land? Just curious?

We've got some that pass thru old pasture land behind our house on a regular basis. I see them early or late in the day when I'm out smoking on the back porch. Sometimes they are just grazing along (seldom) and then can be really moving along on their way to/from their water hole on a nearby farm. Not seen any antlers but have seen a good size doe with a couple little ones following close.

From some of the news clips I've seen over the past few years, people in the snow belts are not any better at driving on/in snow than here in TN, even tho they've had lots more practice. I learned how to drive in the snow while I had my learners permit back in early '71, family was going to Callaway Gardens for spring break, it snowed the night before we left, and dad figured I might as well learn "how" to drive in snow, on a 2 lane North Carolina mountain road. Worst trip of my life, also the quietest as NOBODY said a word until we got down into GA and out of the snow.

I've heard that saying for most of my life, but my mom would have no part of that growing up. I've done it a few times, and I've even seen her do it here lately at the ripe old age of 94.

Great gesture, and any local toy drive for kids would appreciate those a lot.
