Storage For Tools and Cleaning Kit
jpx2rk replied to ShaggyRS6's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I keep the various solvents in small drip tip bottles that fit well inside a used coffee tub, the coffee tub lid keeps any smells down to a minimum or none. (Wife doesn't complain anyway). Patches are kept in the box along with the fold up Tipton gun cleaning rack. Rods are stored on a small rack over in the corner behind the internet router, jags and brushes in a MTM jag brush in the Tipton box as well. I have a similar set up for the range but everything fits in a soft side range bag the wife gave me except for the cleaning rods. They stay in a 2" pvc pipe with caps for travel protection, no damage in 2 yrs. I use my Bald Eagle front rest and rear bag to hold the gun while at the range. A multi-caliber bore guide fits in the range bag along with solvents in a small plastic coffee tub, the MTM jag box and patches. Has worked well for the past 2 yrs. -
Boxers are very protective of their family unit but great family dogs as well.

While I'm no legal beagle, seems like if you have a permit from the City of NY, you could transport the firearm to a gun range w/o issue. JMO. -
Effort does pay off, congrats. Great pics, thanks for sharing.

I've seen some videos of some jetski's set up for fishing, rod holders, the whole 9 yards, try google fu and see what happens. I think they were used for offshore/gulf fishing, maybe even traveled out to the oil rigs. Do you use a fly rod or regular baitcaster/spinning set up ???

I pray those rest in peace for their service.

Looking for .22 pistol/rifle competition

There is a guy that goes by the name "backstrap" I believe over on accurate shooter web site that has some RF matches -
HF has some reasonably priced ones, but quality is always suspect there IMO. You take your chances there. Most big box stores have entry level ones with a better warranty.

People may think you are an idiot, but there is no reason to open your mouth and prove it.

Try and find a car forum for your brand/model and see what they say about headlight bulbs. Some work better than others (last longer, etc). With the DRL's, the lights probably last as long in terms of hours but if you drive more during the day, the lights are on since you drive more during the day than at night. JMO. I've read where the DRL, or some of them run at a slightly lower voltage by design, and this may not be good for the bulbs. Different situation I know, but I've got some recessed lights over the garage doors at the house, they have been on 24/7 for almost 14 yrs now and I've never replaced a bulb yet. I do have a dimmer switch on these.

I have one of your cards I got from a range buddy. I'm wanting/needing some barrels threaded for suppressor. Thanks for the info on your hours. -

When I was still in the "work force", it got to the point where missing one day of work for a legal holiday on Monday for example, it seemed like that Tuesday after the holiday was hell trying to get caught up. I got to the point where I dreaded the holidays that fell on Monday, much less taking a couple days or even a week off for vacation. Sure someone else did my job while I was out for vacation, (but just the bare minimum), and then having to deal with all the related issues from a half azz job being done when I returned. I dreaded the vacations as well. Today's "management" believes that one person can do the work 2 or 3 year round since that one person has done it when the other 2 or 3 were out in the past for whatever reason. Burnout is a very common thing, but everyone needs the job/paycheck for what ever reason they have. Not many people truly "like" their job and enjoy going to work, it's just gotten to "try and survive another day". I don't miss the work force days at all, and enjoy doing things on my own schedule. LOL

Could just take a 2nd firearm to shoot while you wait for the other one to cool down. I usually take a 22RF in these circumstances, takes 5+ minutes to set up the 22RF, load it and shoot it for a few minutes, put it aside and go again on the cold bore testing. Repeat

Glad to see or read about a good outcome in these types of situations. Props to her for keeping her cool and aiming straight. She really paid attention in class didn't she. -
Nothing wrong with that,
