Great gesture, and any local toy drive for kids would appreciate those a lot.

Have a buddy who gets him some every year over here in E TN, Watts Bar lake IIRC. Glad you had a good trip.

I would go with the Ruger based on the upfront cost, as you plainly stated "you THINK" you will shoot it/them more in your mind. IF you do shoot it (22 LR) more, then go for the S&W if the Ruger does not scratch all of the itch you have. You may end up with 2 quality 22LR's, but I can't see a down side of that from this side of the table.

I think it's "purdy".

Welcome back. TC area is a good area to live. Enjoy.

I'll throw the 17HMR out there for discussion. I have a 17HMR based on the reading/research I did back when I was looking. Numerous comments about the 17HMR is more accurate than the 22 mag but I don't have a 22mag to be able to compare the two. 17HMR ammo is $10-12/box of 50, but is fun to shoot just like any other rimfire cartridge is. 17HMR is capable of taking out foxes, groundhogs, etc., up to 150 yds according to numerous comments/posts on different forums. Comments indicate head shots are common on squirrels, and pretty much required due to the vmax type bullets do a lot of damage with body shots.

It's all about the stock price, stock holders, and market share. And YE bonuses for the top dogs there. Nothing more.

With all of the "fitness apps" available, it is not a big surprise IMO. Every app wants/asks for permission to "share" data, and some non-identifying data has to be the same, they find that "same non-identifying" data bit, and they have your profile. Then the targeted ads start.

There are a couple meat processors in Madisonville, one is Keith's on Hwy 411, and Morgan's on Hwy 411 as well. Both are almost within spittin' distance from each other.

Guess I'm a noob at this, just one in house and he's holding another one for me now. LOL

Definitely in the oven if that's your choice, but I'm not willing to try that by any means of the imagination. Granted, if you are hungry enough, lots of things look appealing, but I've never been that hungry and hopefully never will.

How 'bout some baked skunk??

IF the gubberment says it's safe, then it's safe......right???

I had to have the windshield on wife's Ford CMax (about 40 acres of glass on this model), and it cost me around $500 at Safelite in Knoxville about 18 months ago or so. Took 'em about an hour at their shop somewhere in west Knoxville, in some business park off of Lovell Rd IIRC. I had a $1000 deductible then so my wallet hurt for a bit.

Yeah, the "faithful" will follow them anywhere.

Years ago when we lived in the land of mickey mouse (Orlando surburb), wife started feeding a few of the backyard squirrels some pnuts from the store. Thought it was fun and they were cute how they would "sneak" up to get one from the pile she put out for them everyday. One day she ran out of pnuts, squirrels got PO'd in the worst way. Tore the screen (chewed a hole in it) on the screened in porch, ransacked the patio furniture, knick knacks, etc., would hang onto the screening material and chat up a storm at us (cussed us out really). Pretty funny until I busted one with a pellet rifle and left it out in the yard. No more squirrels around our house anymore. Wife wouldn't go outside for a week or two, and felt bad because she neglected the squirrels. I felt bad because I had to fix the screening material. GL with your endeavor.

Babes and their toys...........................................

Guess I should go to AZ then. I've never seen anyone like that at my gun range. -
Just something to consider, I had some wind damage to the overhead door on my detached shed used to store my boat/mower/junk/etc.,, on my HO policy a couple years ago. Cost to replace the door was ~$1150, and my deductible was $1000, so I went thru my HO insurance. They paid me for the $150 but now I have a claim on my "record" and it does affect your ratings when you go shopping around for new insurance. While my insurance rates have gone up just like everyone else and I bitch about it, I can't change carriers as easily now. I also have two auto accidents (neither were my fault) in the last 30 months, so the insurance companies see that as well. I just went thru the process of comparsion shopping for home and auto, and could not change insurance companies/get a better deal due to these claims. IF you think you might change/shop around in the future, this claim for the windshield repair will be out there, and will affect the quotes you receive. Looking back, I wish I had not filed the claim for $150 on my HO policy for the door repair. The cars yes, because of the damage amount, but not for the OH door. FYI

I'm seeing improvement, they looked like they actually wanted to "play to win", vs play to keep from losing. They played 4 full quarters of football today, and it was fun to watch Pruett get a flag for argueing with the refs. But the refs needed several flags thrown against themselves. They don't need to be discussing "bowl games" yet tho.

I belong to a couple firearm related FB groups, (LEE reloading equipment & a 17HMR group), and they have constant warnings about no selling of firearms within those groups. Some posts are deleted by the mods or by FB monitors, and it may/may not ever show up again. Most posts I see are about issues they are having, or their latest purchases like show and tell. I've posted some rifle cases for sale in the marketplace, got a message on my FB page from "them" that my ad did not meet their guidelines, the pictures were of gun cases only, no firearms pictured, and plainly stated no firearms were included. I even stated there were numerous other ads exactly like my ad of gun cases only, and they finally relented, but it was a hassle. I'm on FB only to keep up with family and friends, etc.,(the social aspect) but I don't do any "research" on anything on FB. I just google it and then look for websites that I know would be related to what I'm after. If it's a business, a FB link may/may not show up, and I may click on the link to see what I see, but I would not make a decision on the FB link. Sometimes, friends will post something but it does not show up for 1-3 days before I see it, wife says the same thing about her friends, and they DO NOT discuss firearms. Mostly knitting related projects, and pictures of kittens and puppies. FB restricts the information in lots of different ways to all members.

Gonna take some big hands to work that lever action, even just to grip it, but then where or how do you grip it with the lever/thumbhole/slight suggestion of a pistol grip set up.

Fireants are fairly common in E TN, least in my neck of the woods.

Zippo lighter restoration - Vietnam War repair
jpx2rk replied to ironsniper1's topic in General Chat
Zippo's are pretty tough items. I've got my 1st one from high school, or there abouts. If I put some lighter fluid in it, it would probably light right up. Sometimes you got to use a bit of force to get those corroded items apart, I wonder if the lighter was his fathers, uncles, etc, or just one he got some how.
