Just thinking out loud about an additional solution.... what about a heavy steel desk with file drawers filled with papers (maybe even some armor added to the back of the drawer)? Take cover behind the desk with a trained handgun ready to pop the shooter if he comes in her room. Seems like that might be just as easy or easier than retrieving a heavy vest from a closet. ust a thought...

Good point. Another concerning thought is what limits a state to 21? Could a liberal legislature raise it to 30, 40, etc.? I get their thought process I guess... to keep high school aged kids from buying guns, but it just seems like a backdoor infringement on the 2A to me.

If I could only have one, it would be a G19. I carry my G43 90% of the time, but if I had to make a choice, I’d keep (and carry) the G19. I’ve used my G19 in 3gun before and for concealed carry, and It’s proven it’s usefulness as a fighting and/or carry gun to me. The G26 with G19 mags is not a bad choice either.

So at what point does raising the purchase age become “infringed”? I guess they could just circumvent the 2A altogether by raising the minimum age of purchase to 90. slippery slope and all that.

Yeah, I’m really excited about it this year. I should have the time off to hit the woods that I haven’t had in recent seasons. I will also be using a Reminton 1100. It’s an older one that doesn’t get used much, so I’m looking forward to bagging a turkey with it. The fixed full choke 30” barrel throws a tight pattern with 3” Nitro Turkey #5’s. I like a box call the best. Using a Cody box, Cody slate and a couple of mouth calls. I just got a new vest from Cabelas! If the kids go with me, I’ll probably use the Double Bull blind, otherwise just the base of a tree. Oh, and I won’t go out without a Thermacell. I’ve already had a tick on me this year!!

Trump ended the discussion by saying they are going to look at age of purchase, background checks and mental heath. I agree that gun owners (NRA) needs to be proactive in finding a solution and one that does NOT include the 2A. We guard and protect everything, and I think the discussion should include securing the schools. A crazy should not have access to just waltz on in and kill kids with a gun, knife, truck or any other tool.
