  1. I have a friend that's coming down to work mounted security. They should have gotten in last night or sometime today for all their pre- concert stuff they have to do.
  2. I agree. I'm not picking on TN, Sumner county or even Gallatin/ Bethpage with that comment. Just people. We we had a lady arrive today while we were working on the water. Her ride dropped her off, she claimed to be waiting for a real estate agent. I wasn't aware of a showing today, checked with our selling agent and she wasn't aware of one either. The lady, meanwhile had disappeared. The house and all the buildings were locked, she was sitting in the tall grass out by the woods. When she saw us walking around she laid down. We advised her that without an agent and an appointment she would need to leave, so she got up and walked the 1/2 mile down the gravel drive and started walking down the paved road. As she was leaving, we found she had left behind a garbage bag of food, clothes, blankets and drinks. That's when the SCSO was called. Compliments to them, an officer was here much sooner than I expected and had the lady in his vehicle. He was extremely helpful and professional, and ended up taking the lady and her trash bag of belongings away. The lady claimed she was meeting her agent to close on the house today, and the bag of stuff was so she could move in. I think the last part of that is the only true part. The house and shop are both locked and alarmed, but the barn is not. The officer said it wasn't uncommon for people to try and find rural properties that had been on the market for a while and try to camp out there. The better half is down here every few weeks to check up on things, and the realtor should be coming up to the house and doing a good walk around every couple of days now. The officer said they would have the patrols actually come up the gravel road and check on the house more often as well. He gave me his card, saI'd if I need anything to call him. All in all, a nice guy and a very positive LEO experience. As for my project, we have 2,400' of new water pipe in the ground. I need to make three more connections, leak test and backfill then I'm done.
  3. I guess. Waiting on a deputy to show up right now. May post more details after talking with them.
  4. Yeah, me too. If someone wants a house, shop, barn, land, etc just outside Gallatin let me know. I can set you up.
  5. Have to say, the humidity is miserable and I could stand for the wind to pick up a bit. Other than that, it's not too bad. We're replacing half a mile of water line at a house I have in Sumner county. It's all rock, uphill, etc. Nasty ground to work in. With a 50 hp trencher and a Case 580 we got almost 2,000' of trench dig yesterday, the last 5-600' is going to be much slower. Too steep to get the trencher on, goes under a road and through a solid rock shelf. It might not be too bad if we can follow the original line, but it's still going to require the backhoe. I have to admit, I do kind of miss living here. Not this house so much, but middle TN is a pretty good place to be.
  6. I'm really enjoying the new mobile screen. Unlike Tapatalk, it's actually reliable. The little newspaper button shows all unread content, which seems to be exactly the same as the old view new posts button to me. The only thing I miss, and there may be a way to do it that I haven't found yet, is the ability to mark topics as read without reading them. With Tapatalk I could long press them and they'd go away, not sure how to do that on the mobile skin. When you're browsing on a phone, the trading post threads can create a lot of scrolling to get past. I think I can play with the content filters and set it up so that the trading post doesn't even appear in my unread posts feed, but haven't had time to mess with it yet. That would be a huge advantage over Tapatalk. It seems possible, I just need to try it. Overall I'm enjoying the upgrade. Two small things I've noticed, with the mobile skin I can type right off the screen. The page doesn't move down with the cursor anymore. The forum also doesn't recognize the emoji keyboard. Not sure if it ever did and not complaining, just something I noticed. Overall I think it's a big improvement. Thanks David!
  7. That's what I get for trying to remember it.
  8. Created the nfa as president, and is responsible for a huge portion of California's gun control laws from his time as governor. Shortly after leaving the White House he made a speech about how nobody needs to own an AK47.
  9. "Works great, just won't feed" I've never seen those aftermarket mags work correctly. If you could find an SKS that took real AK mags it might be worth $300, but the one you pictured is a $200 gun at most in my opinion. The stock looks like a cheap ATI/ Tapco, the one I had wobbled pretty badly.
  10. Mine ended up fairly okay. I kind of like it round, actually.
  11. Agreed, the new mobile version is a big improvement. I'm still learning my way around it, but I don't miss Tapatalk at all.
  12. Both are very small and will be limited to a 4' box blade at most. The hitches may not lift high enough to transport a post hole auger, either. Pay no attention to engine hp ratings, go by pto hp. The pto is where the implement connects and where power is transferred. An 18 ho engine may only be putting 12-13 hp to the pto. I'm not overly familiar with those two models, but before buying either figure out where you can get parts and service. If you want a loader, buy it with the tractor. They can be added later, but used ones are very hard to find and new ones are expensive.
  13. Password reset here as well, but otherwise seems fine so far.
  14. Things like this make me glad I work alone. [emoji1]
  15. I think most of them are rated for 26,000 lbs. I know a lot of folks that use them as tractor sheds, heck I'm thinking about getting one myself.
  16. “I support the ban on assault weapons and I support slightly longer waiting periods to purchase a gun,” said Donald Trump in 2000 in his book, The America We Deserve. I find it humorous that a whole lot of people were screaming and foaming at the mouth over states' rights when we were talking about Obamacare or gay marriage, but they're downright eager to throw those rights away for concealed carry. Sure, let's have the federal government manage the carry process! Do you really think that suddenly states like California and Illinois are going to adopt Tennessee style gun laws? No. There will be some compromise, which means people on free states having the places they can carry, maybe even real gun registration forced on them so that the folks in anti gun states can carry. While I feel bad for folks in Maryland and DC, I'm not willing to give up any of my rights for them. They made their beds, let them figure out how to fix it.
  17. I've been having issues with Tapatalk not connecting and a few other things on several different forums lately. They released a new plugin that we installed on another forum, which caused a myriad of new issues both in the app and on the full site. Even after removing the plugin (which created even more problems) our tech folks are still struggling to get it sorted out. As a user trying to contact TT is pointless, all they do is forward the complaint to the forum owners. There's not much a forum owner can do about a problem in the Tapatalk app. Personally, I'm about done with Tapatalk. It's nice being able to access all my forums with one app, but the app is such a headache it's not worth bothering with. I may continue using it for photo hosting, but really I couldn't care less if it went away. If the other forum I visit had a better mobile skin I would just delete Tapatalk entirely. I highly doubt I continue using it on TGO, especially if the new version of the forum has an even better mobile view.
  18. I have to say, the highlight and quote feature sounds pretty nice. It would make it a lot easier to have a point by point discussion vs quoting the same post multiple times and editing out the specific parts.
  19. What about this is so aggravating to conservatives? Not trying to be funny, I genuinely don't understand why so many people are fired up over this.
  20. We had an '01 TJ for a little while. I loved my old Willys jeeps, but I have never been so glad to get rid of a vehicle as I was that new one. Guess I just don't get the "Jeep thing".
  21. I searched for "Islam buys farm in Texas" and Google couldn't find anything. Got any helpful hints, since the news story has already aired?
  22. Don't worry, we do that here too.
