  1. Only one I see in the Android Market is the Talatap Forum App for 2.96, from Quoord Systems Limited. I can go to TGO with my browser, and everything seems to work, its just hard to see everything and zooming makes it too big, lol. Like someone else already said, some websites automatically present their interface in an easy to see version, kinda like tapatalk, but with no software for the viewer to buy and download. I'm guessing they may use a more expensive softwarre interface than does TGO...
  2. Don't be too quick to judge them. They could be legit. Those guys from Nigeria recently sent me an e-mail, telling me about a long lost relative I didn't even know I had in Germany of all places. Turns out that he was rich and had no heirs, but somehow the lawyers in Nigeria, apparently Germany uses Nigerian lawyers (who knew), tracked me down and want to make sure I get my money. Of course, most of the governments involved want to tax my new found wealth, but these sharp Nigerian fellows have discovered a legal way to transfer all this money to me, without me paying taxes on it. All i have to do is send them my bank account information with account numbers and passwords and those kinds of pesky details along with a bank draft for $300.00 and they will see to it that I get what I am due. Now how about that? Now I can start buying all those guns on my dream list finally. Seriously, though, how do they do this? e-mails I understand, but how do they do posts here? Does someone acually join these boards and then manually post this crap, or has technology gotten to where they can do it all automatically?
  3. I appreciate the answers, and it is probably my poorly phrased question that is causing me to not get the answer I seek. In an AR, the buffer assembly group is the tube in the buttstock that contains the spring and the buffer, a longish metal tubular closed ends piece that slides back and forth in the buffer tube. Thesre is a reason for this contraption, it's not for looks, lol. But the PLR 16 does not have this. Some ar style pistols have this buffer tube assembly like on the AR15s, and some do not. My questions is why? There must be some pros and conms to each idea, as both obviously sell.
  4. Can anyone educate me on the functional difference between the Keltec PLR16 style of 5.56 pistol vs the tradiotional style? What I'm looking for is info about how they work. Keltec, and a few others make theirs without a buffer assembly group, makin g for a shorter overall length, while most others do have that part, making for a much longer overall length. How do these differences affect operation and performnance. Although my experience has alwaqys been with the traditional style, WITRH the buffer assembly, apparently the Keltec style works well also. Anyone?
  5. LOL my mistake...I looked at the pics and then couldnt see them while I was typing and mixed them up. It IS the tan one that I dont like the zippers on. The black one I like!
  6. The black one in your pic I don't like because of the dual zipper...I have had zippers like that b4 nd just didn t like them. The other, the one you have, i like. Lets's meet for lunch. After I look at yours I may order one for myself. The Malaga is good, but sometimes I think the Operator would be better for work. You are right about the holster...just a couple heavy duty velcro straps sewn together, but effective. I have them in a couple of my bags, but the concealed carry pouch in the Malaga is big enough that I just carry my Bersa Thunder 9 Pro in it in just a regular nylon holster, unattached to the pack. It stays upright in the pouch and is ready for drawing.
  7. Yes the Malaga is much bigger, its more like one strap small backpack than a waistpouch. Way better than the Colussus. I've been looking at the Operator as well as the other briefcase style ones they have. I HATE buying online though and the nearest place that carries Max stuff is Outpost in Mboro, and they don't have ALL of the line, just some of the line. I'm having trouble deciding which one, lol. Does the operator have dualled side by side zippers along the top or just one? I kinda don't like the dual ones that are separated by a few inches of fabric...
  8. I worry about that too. I want to lose weight, and my Cobra Rigger Belt may then require some reworking. I don't think I could do it myself though. The Cobra is just great. ONLY problem with it is that it is so wide it wont fit thru some belt loops. But then I have a really really thick bullhide belt that will usually fit. Both make carrying a gun so much easier.
  9. I've had several of the Maxpdition line and one UTG copy. The fatboys are just too small. The UTG I thought was almost as good for a much cheaper price. If given the opportunity I would buy another UTG instaead of the max brand. That said, I still have a Versipack, I think its the Colussus that I have, that I occasionally use, but I currently daily use a Max MALAGA GEARSLINGER. Its bigger and is a single strap backpack (small). It doesnt come with the water bottle carrier, so I went down to the Outpost Armory and picked up a couple of the ones that attach to the side of my pack. I also bought another pouch that can attach to it that multiplies the capacity, but I don't have that one on it right now. I keep a couple guns, extra magazines, extra ammo, cell phone charger, knives, multitools, checkbooks, pens, a Gerber LMF Infantry knife on the side, usually a hardback book and my lunch in it and it goes with me everywhere I go. At the very least, its in the car when I go, if not actually on my person or within arms reach. They make some other ones I might be interested in, some of their attache style cases...all good stuff, but way overpriced, IMO. Bad thing is I dont see much similar to max by anyone else. UTG and the like dont have an offering for each Max style.
  10. Most people haven't put a lot of stock into the birh cert issue, having assumed that he was properly vetted. I don't know, but I do know two things: He and his administration have certainly been aware of the growing numbers of people who wanted him to produce the long form., yet he did not. His inaction and mis-statements only added to the birther's fears and claims. Second, clearly, he finally released it because of Trump. Trump was the only one of the people pushing the birther isse to have gotten a lot of mainstream media attention. I think the administration started to realize that not only was the issue not going away, the Trump factor was causing it to be MORE talked about in the media, and they realized, albeit late in the game, that the more mainstream attention it got, the more people may jump on the wagon.
  11. Thats 'cuz he's a Navy guy...all those Navy guys are strange...
  12. I agree. The Europeans saw the immigrants from the Middle east as the answer to their labor problem years ago. They let them in, almost unregulated, to do the jobs, that the Europeans wouldn't do...sound familiar? Kinda sounds like us and the hispanic illegal immigrants here, doesent it? Now they are almost ready to take over many of the countries in Europe and may well be unstopable there. We will have the same problem here, but maybe it will be a battle between the Muslims and the Hispanics here...to see who wins America.
  13. Great shop with a great crew. I've bought guns and accessories there, and will again. Dave (the owner) and Rightwinger are the ones I've dealt with there, and they are both first rate. They know their stuff and are honest.
  14. This is a good stock tip. I called my stockbroker and asked him what I should be buying. He said, "If the current administration is in office much longer, canned goods and ammunition would be your best bet."
  15. High Noon Holsters now makes holsters for the FN-45. I've only seen them online, but they look good. I like this one: Slide Guard I just really prefer to buy where I can hold, feel and try the fit in person before I buy. I bought a nice Don Hume belt slide at the Nashville Gun SHow last year from the big holster vendor thats always there. Its made for an XD, but fits my FN-45 very well. It has the slide guard like in the link.
  16. He's one of ther all but forgotten greats! "I LOVE" is another good one.

    pipe smoking

I think I have one of his pipes in my collection. I've been smoking and collecting pipes since the early nineties and have built up a collection that includes cheaper pipes like a Dr Grabo, wall the way to very expensive ones like Dunhill and Julio Vesz handcut pipes. Unlike some pipe smokers who seem to concentrate on one brand, I tend to only buy one pipe from each maker so I can have more variety in my collection. I love them all, lol, but oddly enough, one of my better smoking pipes is a cheap little Lorenzo I picked out of a bargain bin at theTobacco Road Pipe shop when it was still at Harding Mall. Its an Italian made bent billiard style, that I paid something like 29 bucks for. its a nice looking pipe and like I said, it smokes wonderfully! Only problem is that since I smoke it so much, the tenon has become loose fitting into the shank. I put beeswax on it to tighten it up, but that only lasts a little while.

    pipe smoking

I do. Been smoking and collectingfor years. Smoke different blends from tobacco shops, but favorite ready made is Palladins Black Cherry, for the taste as welll as the availability.
  19. I liked Beck's radio show year's ago before most around here had heard of him. I still like it. As for his TV show...not sure I could explain it, but someone here already did...I don't watch it much for two reasons: One I have to dvr it and watch it later and my time is limited, and 2, it is repetitive...I also think I would watch it EVERY week if it was a weekly one hour show instead.
  20. Wonder if it has anything to do with a lessened deployment tempo for some aviation units?
  21. Hwn I was in the USAF we often used the smaller targets to simulate the longer distance range because most airbases just didn't have the available real estate to build the longer ranges. I think it's a good "make do" situation. May not be as good as shooting the actual distances, but given the llimitations, it is an ok compromise for the average shooter. Snipers and those expected to shoot greater distances were trained differently, usually borrowing range time at a more suitable range.
  22. Way cool! n What price range was it, if you don't mind sharing that. If I can't find a Keltec KSG-12 when they come out, I may look for one ofthese instead.
