  1. They make .50 air rifles that some people deerhunt with.
  2. I passed that one along to him. Not been able to get him on the phone to discuss things though. If I had not just dropped waaayy too much on car repairs right after paying for renovations, I might think about that ine.
  3. Retirement is not something I can even hope for. Yeah I have a 401k and stuff, but it takes ALOT to live for even 10 years as retired. Well unless you live on a very low cost life with no medical issues. .
  4. Yep. Ways fun trying to pry details from someone who wants you to help them. So far no info coming back to me. So I am waiting until I get more details.
  5. Always hard to see the young ones go.
  6. That means that the link is not a direct link. Imgur made it harder to find recently. If you pull up your imgur account in the app and copy the url for the image. Paste it into Safari or Chrome and it will open on the web at the imgur mobile site. In Chrome you can press and hold on the pic to choose 'Open image in new tab'. Then in that tab, just copy the url displayed in the address line. Not sure how to do that in Safari though. I did these steps to get the url for this image.
  7. I never understood why he bothered even taking it out of the box
  8. @Erich Yeah, I am trying to get more details, but he is being slow to respond and I have not had a chance to call. @BHunted yeah if the price fits, I would suggest something along that lines. I saw a 1933 1911a1 for sale somewhere that caught my eye. Too rich for my peasant blood though. The unit price range will probably be the key factor
  9. Out of the blue my Dad asked me for help to locate a Colt 1911 Government Model.45 for a friend. Particulars have been pretty limited so far. I am trying to get more details second hand. I have Googled looking for online retailers. I am not a 1911 expert, but I know a bit. Just difficult to narrow down search results with so many options in 1911s Anyone know anywhere that is better than others to find a deal on one? Thanks
  10. I call yote...
  11. Something like this is what I carry my ar-7 in https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123656746342
  12. Good reason to use latex gloves when field dressing. The worst thing I ever had was a fungus infection in my lung from ...get this...working in the dirt. I was helping during flood cleanup in Missouri. The doc swore I had TB or cancer. Just good to remember we are fragile creatures susceptible to all kinds of nasty stuff mother nature has floating around.
  13. Welcome. I am just over in Johnson City. I agree Pal's is a local treasure...
  14. Started this at the first of the month, but have been swamped. Still important to consider. This month is a good time to look over your plans. Even if it is just some flashlights, candles, a Coleman stove, and some extra canned goods, you would be better prepared than 90% of people. With winter around the corner it is good to know you don't have to get out in the bad weather. Of course some people take it much further.... I neither condone nor condemn either stance. In case you want to know more, here is my post about it. http://leveledsurvival.com/2019/09/01/national-preparedness-month-2019/

  15. I speak from experience. My aunt bulldozed her own Mom's house because she was mad at my Dad about how things were finalized from the 'estate'. That is after having my Mamaw sign a bunch of checks over to her a little while before she passed. Greed is a nasty thing. Hopefully yours works put well one way or another.
  16. I was just joking.... Yep family and friends can easily become enemies when money is involved.
  17. Yep, you just doomed yourself. Lol
  18. I am sad our best one closed. I have more time to shoot in the winter when there is no yard work. I can shoot outside, but shooting in the snow can suck.
  19. Heck, just give me a Ma Deuce and we'll call me good...
  20. Maybe that should be 'SOB 808'
  21. My parent's lived in Love Addition before building a house. My Dad still does work for Carl Ownby. My Papaw worked for the Sheriff's Department for about 30 years. He used to talk about pigeon shoots at the courthouse. I remember picking up seed at Temples feed store. Lots of good memories and very few of them involve the tourist traps...
  22. Nice! Work would never let me keep that at my desk though. Lol
  23. No.. No I don't really. I figure talking to the average kindergarten class would be more enlightening than most politicians.
  24. I cannot afford to lose any money I might have invested in guns that might fall under this. Beyond rights, that in and of itself keeps me opposing this
