  1. Purchased some patches to attach behind our ears for motion sickness. We should be ok for the trip and the ship wave rolling while at sea. Friend went 2 weeks ago and said he got sick the first night out at sea, so he cautioned us. I can't take much motion myself these days. Looking forward to getting on the ship but the 5 1/2 hr plane trip to Seattle is a bugger. On blood thinners so I am hoping for no blood clots. Wife says I need to wear tet-hose to keep legs from getting clots, so I guess I will be wearing heavy stockings guys! Cain't wait for that???
  2. Thanks for the comments and encouragement guys. Little worried about the waves, however looking forward to this trip. I am truly thankful for my second chance. It is answer to many prayers. God is good.
  3. Frog, we will be going on 4 big excursions inland. Visiting Juno, Ketchikan, and Skagway in Alaska. Also visiting Victoria in Canada. Our plan is to enjoy this trip.
  4. After a heart attack my heart output had dropped to 30% and I was in heart failure. I started Cardiac Rehab at the St Thomas Hospital here in Murfreesboro. After 20 visits they retested me again on the 2 of July. My Ejection Fraction had gone up to 65% and I am no longer in heart failure. As matter of fact, my heart output percentage is 5 % better than it was before I had the attack. My Cardiologist said he had a hard time believing the results, since my windowmaker was 100% blocked by the blood clot. He looked over the results of the test 4 times. He said he could only find a very small place on the very back wall of my heart where my heart muscle shows minimal damage, and it was so small and where it is located should be in-sequential to my wellbeing in the future. THANK YOU GOD!!!!! My wife and I are celebrating my recovery by going on our first cruise. We will be sailing from Seattle to Southern Alaska and Canada. Guys I dodged a "BIG Bullet" here. Have you ever sailed on a cruise ship? I don't drink, don't gamble, and can't eat much, however will be exploring South Alaska sight-seeing just for the fun of it. Two of our four daughters, and their families, will be going with us. Life is good, again. Thank you "Father."
  5. The 22WMR will surprise you because of the added power. Long story short, I stoved-piped a 90 pound Red Bone Hound, a few years back, that was killing baby calves on a rented farm near town. Hit him right under his head, in the chest, as he was charging at me. Shot him with a 22 mag and it cleaned him out. Surprise, Surprise
  6. KLKR8, are you connected with any of the gun stores in Franklin?
  7. Moped yes, I have a Ruger Max 9. I pocket carry the pistol. If I affix a Red Dot to it is questionable if I can still pocket carry it. My thought is if I need to go to IWB carry I would choose one of my MP 9 MM 2.0's. They have slightly longer Brl and hold 15+1 rounds. From what everyone is saying the dots that come with most pistols are substandard or cheepies. I really like the MP's but are not able to pocket carry because of size. Even purchased the single stack MP 9 MM EZ and it is also too large for pocket carry, however very easy to rack the slide. This will be my arthritis choice if/when it gets much worse.
  8. I was interested in looking at what they had in Pistols with a red dot already combined. Only found 2, one was a "Rose" with Lea Mccullick name attached to it. Supposedly she endorses the 9 Mm Rose. It had a red dot and was 1100.00 plus Tax. Also looked at a Springfield Armory Hellcat w/red dot for *800.00+. What is your thoughts on Red Dot sights? I have never purchased one.
  9. Thanks Will
  10. My first grandson was born with Downes Syndrome and didn't speak for a couple years. His first words that I heard him say was Pop Pop, so that kinda stuck. Boring, however I have been Pop Pop for 30 years now.
  11. Will, where is Classic Arms located? Good price on Glock 22's. I like 40's and still can handle the snappiness of the Glock Mdl 23. Might consider one.
  12. Pics look great. Pistol looks similar to all the "Fantastic Plastics" but has added good features. Me, I am into the SW MP camp at present, and have a brace of them. Also have a Gen 5 mdl 19 Glock and Ruger Max 9. This rounds out my F P pistols so I am not interested to go into another brand at this time. The Price of the R M is right.
  13. What are you using this rifle for, or is it just because I wanted too? "Big Boomer"
  14. Just received a catalog from Cabelas/ Bass Pro. I am amazed at the prices of the lever gun prices and how high they are. I purchased a Henry Brass Big Boy 38/357 about 10 years ago and paid 729.00 plus tax and the same rifle is over 1000,00 now.
  15. I just purchased a new 3" S W 686 + which is a 7 shot 38/357 about 8 months ago. Paid 999.99 plus tax. Have shot it on several outings (approx 200 rounds) and it is solid. Owned several 7 shooters and none of them have been a problem. I like them all. Ruger is a fine revolver and don't back up off of a 7 shot. You will be pleased.

    Tumor

Praying for good result with your surgery. God is good.
  17. Just ordered 500 rounds of Winchester White Box 130 gr practice ammo from S G ammo for 209.00. Best price I have seen on that ammo in a while. Get-ye-some!
  18. I don't care what is in the papers, however I think this sets a bad president form this time forward. Governments loves suppression and secrecy. Look at what has happened since the shooting. The Families want to suppress it, but it is in the news almost daily. I feel sorry for them.
  19. Your neighbors can stop back yard shooting whenever they deem it a nuisance or annoyance under that prevision. If I wanted to shoot in my yard, on a regular basis, I would find another property. Gun haters are everywhere, and they can move in tomorrow the way property is selling today. Most of my neighbors have been here for years and they know I shoot from time to time.
  20. I purchased an SP 101 when they first came out. Really liked it but was heavy and stout. My daughter wanted a small revolver so I gave it to her. Someone broke into their house and took it. I believe they (Sherriff Dept) recovered it for her. Some of her stuff she never recovered. I really liked the SP 101. Fired about 400 rounds through it before giving it to my daughter. I am thankful they have since purchased gun safes, and good burglar alarm to add a couple more levels to their house and gun security.
  21. Hey" Will Carry", I purchased a S W M P 9 MM EZ for the same reason. Do what works for you and don't look back. I am a Ruger fan as well.
  22. Happy 4th to all you guys.
  23. UT will need to redo their coach's contract to keep him. A Texas team announced they are already after him.
  24. I have 3 Taurus 617 style 7 shot SS 2" brl 357/38 revolvers. One is blued. They are K frame size. No issues with any of them and have had them 10 years. Carry one of them every day and have for the past few years. All shoot to aim and have smooth triggers on them. One is an ultralight and only fires 38 special and is + P rated. I highly recommend later models of Taurus revolvers. The one I carry has several rounds (1,000+) through it. Is still very tight and functions well, although most of the rounds through it was 38 spl practice ammo. Have fired 4 boxes of 357 full power through it though.
  25. I am not a fan of light bullets in 9 MM. I go for the 147 + P rounds for S D, but I am not an expert by any means. In the past lighter bullets, was not as effective as the heavier in 9 MM and it took multiple hits to stop attackers. They penetrated far less than the heavier even though they were traveling much faster. Under penetration is a big factor. When traveling much higher velocities lighter bullets tend to make hollow point bullets open much faster and the mushroom is larger which has the effect of less penetration, and along with that comes the worry is they may not reach vitals. Like I stated that was with past flavors of ammo. It very well may be different now with the newer brands of ammo. I am aware that ammo has made strides in the past few years. Hornady Critical Defense has the 115-grain HP bullet and is spoken of as very effective and the Critical Duty, made for Police work, has the heavier135 Gr bullet, but is designed for shooting through glass and other barriers for Police work so over penetration may be a factor. In my 38/357 7 shot Revolver EDC I am carrying Cor Bon DPX all copper in 357 Mag simply because I have several older ones on hand. My 9's all have the Winchester PDX 1 +P 147 gr HP's. I am a fan of Hornady 147 Gr +P also. Those are what I have on hand and trust. I can still control the recoil, for now, but am getting older with Arthritis on board. Time will tell on that one. Like I said I am no expert, and you all must work out your own salvation. Heard that saying form somewhere in the past. Edited to add content; Made me cringe to see him re-holster the handgun pointed at his business area in the video. "Thats my story and I am sticking to it!"
