  1. I normally have a bad-ass immune system.  I mean, I never get sick.  Ever.  This year I opted not to take the flu shot and OMG what a mistake that was.   This past Sunday I started feeling kind of achy and tired.  Monday morning I left work about an hour after I got there because I started feeling really bad.  It went downhill from there really fast with Monday being mostly stomach related problems and then Monday night it completely went south with fever, chills and my sinuses felt like they were on fire.  I spent Monday through Thursday laid up in bed.  I really don't remember much about Tuesday or Wednesday as I slept most of those days away.  And by slept I mean I was in bed around the clock, alternating between shivering so bad my back hurt and burning up so hot I couldn't get cool.   Late Wednesday my fever finally broke and Thursday was mostly sleeping to recover.  Last night was the first real sleep I've had in four days.  Thankfully I'm pretty much past the bad stuff now and just recovering.   So... anyone else had this crap lately?  I think this is seriously the worst flu I can remember ever having.  I won't make the mistake of skipping the flu shot ever again.  Granted it's no silver bullet but the years I've taken the shot if I caught anything it didn't last near this long and wasn't near this severe.   Oh, the doc says this was the Type-B flu.  Apparently Type-A is even worse.  I guess it comes with demons that torment you over open pits of fire or something.
  2.   While you were getting worked up over it, did you bother reading my first post or what?  Because at no point did I say this is a rule here.  It was a proposal seeking others to join me in the effort to rise above petty behavior.   Go back and read it again.  :bored:
  3. The way that T-Bird is mangled shows she was absolutely flying when she hit you.  I go back to my previous statement: That makes me mad as hell.
  4. Did you read the thread or just reply?
  5. Nice to see so many wheelers here.  :)
  6.   They're not just useful for press checks though.  They come in very handy for one-handed manipulation during "injured shooter" drills.
  7. I'm very glad you guys are OK and frankly cannot help but be angry at the deceased for putting so many people at risk if she was indeed preoccupied with her cell phone when she struck you.
  8. Greatly prefer them.
  9.   I-40 West like that is probably one of the EASIEST commutes you can find for those working in downtown Nashville.  The problem is there really isn't much out that way in terms of common amenities or must-visit venues.  Most of the folks out there either travel down SR-840 to Franklin / Cool Springs or just stick to the things that are local to them for entertainment.
  10. Nice.  Can't wait to see the finished product!
  11. The student population in the Antioch area schools is largely black and Hispanic from what I've seen.  There aren't many Jethro Bodines running around that part of town.
  12. Look for some that use the band that go around the back of your head / neck instead of over the top of it.  Peltor makes several, as do other manufacturers.    That being said, If you really want to treat yourself right, invest in some custom molded in-ear protection.
  13.   This.  I get so tired of people being told that they should worry about over-penetration.  If i had to chose between expansion or depth of penetration from a projectile, I'd chose the one that went the deepest every time.
  14. Learning scales is your best way to begin improvising solos and such.
  15. Shoot an email to tgoadvertising-at-gmail-dot-com and we'll get you the info you need.  Thanks!
  16. This thread really went places.
  17. No need to bump it... that was turned off to conserve server resources.  The error is just a vague message instead of stating you don't have permission to view it.
  18. Still waiting on Tim to become a Vendor here.  Lord knows he's gotten enough business from TGO.
  19. It's been discussed here before somewhere but the basic gist is I have no way of customizing Tapatalk like that.  We only get the fields they give us since it's a 3rd party application and has almost no settings on my side to configure.
  20. So very sorry to hear about your injury.  Perhaps there are ways that you can still enjoy the Trail after you heal, either by volunteering some time to do trail repair, or teaching others, etc.  I've learned that when life closes one door, it generally opens another.   Keep your spirits up!
  21. Back to the subject at hand, among the various handguns I own are two XD-S's.  I carry one as my pocket gun and my wife carries one as her primary.  We've had zero problems out of them from about 500 rounds each so far.  Certainly no light primer strikes.  For a small .45ACP it is, in my opinion, the best thing going right now.   That being said I would not choose it as my primary simply because I prefer something a little bit bigger for extended shooting (ie practice sessions) and I prefer something with a larger magazine capacity.  If I were going to pick a .45ACP as my primary it would be either the M&P 45 mid-size with the 4" bbl or the HK 45C.  I do in fact have the M&P 45 mid-size but it tends to stay uncarried in favor of the M&P 9mm instead simply for weight savings and larger magazine capacity.  Which takes us back to the notion that with modern defensive ammunition there really aren't too many compelling reasons for me to choose a .45 over a 9mm, but the additional capacity in the same size frame does give me a compelling reason to carry the 9mm if given the choice between the two.   My logic is a bit screwy perhaps and it almost seems contradictory to what I just said when I explain why I chose the XD-S for pocket carry.  For that particular application I once again weighed caliber vs. capacity and came to the conclusion that in a pocket gun where I was going to be deficient on capacity anyway, I might as well carry the largest projectile possible.
  22. Open trigger guard??
  23. My daughter would love that Lilac.  I had no idea those were even available yet.
  24. So which PPQ did you get, Mike?   Is it the new V2?   I've been sorely tempted to sell off something and pick up a V2 in 9mm.  Posts like yours really make it hard not to scratch that itch.
