  1. Well, it's probably too soon ... But has anyone received any of their rebates yet?
  2. LOL. I feel your pain! There's a thread on here somewhere about this same issue. I did the same during/after the Black Friday sales and I am still waiting for my refund cards... eventually they'll arrive, eventually... But they don't make it terribly easy either.
  3. Another SG Ammo satisfied customer here. I'd recommend signing up for their newsletter as they run frequent specials. https://www.sgammo.com/ For Self Defense/Carry ammo I tend to use Bone Frog Gun Club. If your choice is listed "Out Of Stock" just check back in a few days. These guys sell a lot of affordable quality ammo and ship fast. https://www.bonefroggunclub.com/collections/ammunition
  4. Shared this one with my son last weekend. He's 35 and has great taste in music. That's a gift from his mother.
  5. Details man! And more pics! That's nice good Sir, well done.
  6. Prayers are definitely being sent. "F***" Cancer is right! Mine was minor by comparison. We have a very close friend undergoing chemo and is post mastectomy. She's tough and she's a fighter. Trust in God goes a long way. Prayers will continue.
  7. Thanks @Obiwan! Chris Baker has an excellent sense of humor. I much prefer his character's take vs the other numerous Shot Show vids on the web.
  8. @deerslayer Sluggish... I can see where some would say that, but heck...I'm sluggish LOL We've used @BrasilNuts G34 in the past. Huuummmm? Tamara Keel does a decent writeup in RecoilWeb. She's a shooter, not just a writer. The below is quoted from an article she wrote in Recoil. I look forward to reading her followup article. https://www.recoilweb.com/seismic-disturbance-145326.html "Leaving Range Day, this ammunition is one of the most interesting things we saw there, and not least for the puzzles it raises."
  9. You are correct my friend. Strange idiosyncrasy as I ran about 100 rounds of those through my Shield last week and they cycled great and were easy to hand eject... with my G17 hand ejection is a hit & miss kinda thing.
  10. I think you make some excellent points in this post. In Oct 2017 we ( Brad, @BrasilNuts, and I) cast, coated, and worked up some 160 gr 9mm loads. Using Titegroup we came up with some very accurate and soft recoiling loads. Our velocities ranged from 824 fps to 940 fps out of a Glock 17 and a Glock 34. (FWIW the 824 fps dropped to 753 fps in my Shield). The 940 fps loads showed signs of overpressure. I guess with a proprietary powder mixture and the proper, professional grade pressure testing equipment the ammo manufactures should have, their claims may be safely achievable. I believe some competition folks on BE Forums work with this bullet weight in 9mm and many of them are quite knowledgeable... I would like to read more about their testing and development procedures though. But I imagine they hold that info close. I wouldn't mind working with some 185 gr bullets for S&G's. But I'll happily stick with 147 gr HST or similar for a carry load. At $1.38/per round I don't think I'll be purchasing any to play with.
  11. Someone will buy it... sigh
  12. Very nice indeed! Some quality leather and you are GTG!
  13. And Vote
  14. Welcome to TGO ! Sounds like you've a solid plan! Learning iron sights first is smart. All things mechanical can & will fail...eventually. Learning med skills is a necessity and I wish everyone thought that way. Again, welcome.
  15. Gone! And to a great guy
  16. As I was cleaning up and clearing out some gear I came across a 10 round Glock magazine I had for my G21 ( that's 45 acp for you non-Glock people out there reading this! ) ... before I blew it up. A double charge of W231 (5.7 grs x 2= BOOM!), just in case you ever wondered. Again, it's a 10 round mag but I'd be happy to give it to a member of our community if they could make use of it. If not local, I'd ask you pay the shipping...USPS Priority Mail as I very rarely go to the Post Office and much prefer to just "Click-n-Ship". Just PM me and then I'll post to this thread.
  17. That link (Thanks @MP5_Rizzo!) has all the info on this I'd ever need. A gentleman by the name of Guy Neill (once worked for CCI per the thread...around 10 posts into it) offered a detailed explanation as to the "why" you shouldn't do it...obviously you "can" do it. But I wouldn't risk it. One blown handgun in my life was plenty enough. I handload pretty much all of the handgun ammo I shoot and I'll continue to use brass. And like @Raoul and @Grayfox54said, free brass is pretty much just laying on the ground these days. Several years ago Dolomite had a thread or two on improving accuracy and consistency of steel cased 7.62x39 iirc. I believe he mentioned the damage the steel cases could do to your dies. (Great thread btw) I have no idea what damage, if any, the aluminum cases may do...but the reloaded aluminum cases seem to fairly quickly corrode the barrels of some of the folks that were doing it according to the BE thread. I frequently go to the BE forum for suggestions and info when I'm developing a load. There's some helpful and knowledgeable folks there.
  18. Your welcome my friend. I have quite a few with the "Restricted" stamp on them. When the '94 ban sunset I purchased a bunch through Botach for a ridiculously low price. They were in like new condition when I bought them. I hope we never see another "Restricted" period but the future may be somewhat of a challenge.
  19. It's crazy isn't it? Since I posed this question I've been reading on some gun forums up in the NE. I've found several links to various state statutes allowing pre- Sept 1994 made Glock normal capacity mags. (MA for instance). We here in TN are currently Blessed and I hope we remain so.
  20. Here's a pic of the floorplates on the mags I have. While obviously of evolving generations these are definitely "pre-ban" . I know 'cause I'm pre-ban too! And 'cause I had these waaaay back then.
  21. Yep...I've even heard them referred to as "U" notch Glock Mags. I'll see if I can attach a photo from this article in the Small Arms Defense Journal: http://www.sadefensejournal.com/wp/?p=2730 Magazine floor plates are of two distinct types: early versions for the Non-Fully Metal Lined (NFML) magazines and later ones for the Fully Metal Lined (FML) magazines also known as ‘drop-free’ because their greater rigidity causes them to be less likely to stick in the magazine well than their predecessors. The four distinct early versions were originally smooth and then sequentially incorporated a Glock logo, insert button hole, and finally a part number ‘455.’ Later FML floor plates began with a different number ‘3602’ that was eventually omitted.
  22. They are currently going for some pretty steep prices on Gunbroker Red. Pretty steep...
  23. Thanks for the replies and advice folks. I'll tread cautiously. hipower. It's my understanding, and I trust I'll be corrected if I'm wrong... When Glock first introduced their handguns onto the world, a primary aim was towards the Military. Lore has it that the Austrian Military wanted a handgun magazine that would not accidentally drop out in the snow and be lost, therefore the original Glock magazines were what we here in the US refer to as "NDF" or Non-drop free also known as NFML or Non-fully metal lined. We here in the US clamored for a magazine that would in fact "Drop Free" and this led to the FML or Fully Metal Lined drop free magazines and the continuing evolution into the Glock magazines as we now know them. I could be totally wrong on this. But my first Glock magazine were these and/or like these. I actually cut the grips (1/2 quarter sized semi-circles on each side of the lower grip frame) of a few my own Glock to facilitate a quick snatch/grab to manually remove the magazines. I still find myself ripping the mags out when doing a hurried reload at times. Many years of repetitive practice I guess.
  24. Disclaimer: This is not an for sale ad. I promise I would only sell through TGO but listing appropriately. I actually read the stickies! The above stated, I have a few Pre-Clinton era ban Glock 17 NDF (Non-Drop Free) 9mm magazines I ran across when cleaning my basement a few weeks ago. I've used them in range training and several classes over the years and they run great... just gotta "rip them out". No biggie... but as I have a "few" G-mags I thought I'd sell these, probably on Gunbroker. Do any of you have any first hand experience or knowledge as to restrictions when selling these online if the buyer is in another state? Any links to trusted information would be greatly appreciated. There's lots of interweb conjecture available... but I'm challenged at finding reliable factual info. I am a professed technotard! For some reason I actually trust you folks.
  25. "There is no "I" in Team...but there's two I's in Idiot. Don't be one." My wife. She always been smarter than me.
