  1. I know, they came and went in a flash but other sites still have them. https://www.knifecenter.com/item/BO110190DAM/boker-tirpitz-folding-knife-damascus-blade-aluminum-handles-with-walnut-inlay There are some that were made from Leopard tank barrels! https://www.knifecenter.com/item/BO084D/boker-leopard-damascus-i-folding-knife-damascus-blade-aluminum-handles-with-ziracote-wood-inlays I am beginning to think one of these would make a great anniversary gift to my wife - lol!
  2. Not a problem if non-vaccinated isolate themselves and thus put in the effort to reduce transmission. Therefore, don't complain if there are restrictions (no sports events; no planes; no cruise ships, etc) placed on those who made such a choice. I'm sure we can all agree that folks need to accept the consequences of their choices.
  3. Interesting how some folks like to take positions on things no one ever said - lol. The vaccinated can still carry COVID, and but with the vaccinated, critically, the transmission rate is dramatically reduced . Indeed, that is the whole point of stopping the communicable diseases. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-00450-z https://theconversation.com/can-vaccinated-people-still-spread-the-coronavirus-155095 Nothing is perfect, but we need to do our best to stop the spreading, not just prevent the infected from becoming extremely sick or dying. And to the point: if people don't want to be vaccinated, fine, but that choice should not supplant, interfere, or enhance risk to the rest of society which made a different decision to be vaccinated, overwhelmingly. Honestly, we all want this to be over as quickly and painlessly, but it takes effort from everyone.
  4. Actually, the vaccinated are still at (a lower) risk and non-vaccinated carriers are what allow diseases to both continue, mutate and become more virulent. This, in turn, reduces the effectiveness of vaccines.
  5. Made from salvaged armor from the Tirptiz. Damascus steel make me drool: https://www.bladehq.com/item--Boker-Tirpitz-Damascus-Knife-3--15797
  6. As it should be. You have the right to make decisions for yourself, but not for everyone else. If you don't want to be vaccinated, fine, but please consider that others don't want to be exposed and risk their lives to the ramifications of your choice. Moreover, it's a public issue that impacts the health care system for the rest of us, which is a major problem We've pretty much defeated the Plague, Smallpox and Polio through vaccination and precaution. This should be no different.
  7. The .357 is a more versatile gun imho and single-action is all you need. I agree with @Garufa I hike all over the freakin' place way too much and the only bears remotely concerning to me are those in the GSMNP because they are so desensitized to people. The ones I encounter everywhere else are running scared. I do keep a look out for hogs and weirdos, though.
  8. Awesome for you! I can't wait, personally. In a couple of months, we'll be rocking' and rollin' again!
  9. That should give you an idea of the scope of the issue at it's worst in the past. Like everyone else says: add a dehumidifier! Mold can be active in high humidity areas, not just from water seepage. We have a walk-out basement and added HVAC returns and a dehumidifier and never had a problem, though there we some signs of past intrusion. And of course, I am super vigilant with gutter maintenance.
  10. Congratulations on getting to this point; home searches are nerve-wracking. Poorly functioning gutters and downspouts can be a real detriment. Are there any signs of past water damage/stains or recent repairs/paint in the area?
  11. Yep. I'm going hiking tomorrow, but, our part of the state is not really impacted. Newfound Gap in the Smokies doesn't even have snow! I always check the web cam up there and it is quite balmy and wet right now: https://www.air-resource.net/grsmnfgap/
  12. Have you handled a Colt Trooper? It's sorta' a blue-collar Python.
  13. Inclusivity and education are huge factors. Indeed, the continued talk about "good guys with guns" and armed protests with militia is a losing proposition because it is translated as quite threatening to many people. Many folks don't want to live that way. Do you want people on your side? Help them and their causes - don't work to subvert issues that are near and dear to them. Stay clear of negativity. Quit demonizing "liberals" and others you may perceive as opposition. They merely have a different opinion and indeed, opinions can and do change (but not if you antagonize or marginalize) Be understanding and empathetic to those suffering the consequences of gun violence. Work to include others and teach folks the fun of shooting sports. I suggest finding ways to create "free" 2nd Amendment camps to bring in new young people and teach them safety as well as new skills. The Second Amendment belongs to all of us, like it or not, and it's best not to congregate in just one tent. That's my two cents...
  14. We've got ice cleats, two dogs and a pile of wood that is split and ready. Yesterday I took a nice icy hike. It was pretty slick but we had the woods to ourselves. Hope everyone else stays safe and warm!
  15. That's about the rate/term we just got. Essentially, we knocked 5 years off the loan for ~ the same monthly payment.
  16. Yes, not an equitable outcome over the presumed $200 loss. Then of course, there's the down-grade of living arrangements (how does the penal system deal with 95 year old murders who are so far off their rockers?).
  17. https://www.titusvilleherald.com/news/article_4b20dffd-f392-5f13-b5b0-fb30899ac44f.html Yes, there is tragedy all around with this story, but, obviously the man wasn't thinking too clearly. He just had an original 1911 Govt confiscated because he was worried about a supposed $200 theft.
  18. Pill City, Bearden and the Fellini Kroger on Broadway are fun stops on the "Keep Knoxville Scruffy" party bus tour.
  19. When I met my future wife, she had a red Bronco II and a pair of red Wranglers that both fit her quite well The Bronco II went 220,000 miles without too much problem (except transmission rebuildS). Much like my Forester, the short wheel base made it a very nimble and capable off-roader. We ended up selling it to someone who wanted to set it up for hard-core 4 wheeling. I will certainly give the new Broncos a look when the time comes.
  20. Yep, you are correct. Apparently TN and FL actually allow for sinkhole insurance, but, it may be limited to only catastrophic coverage. Thanks!
  21. UCF went undefeated in his first year there; perhaps he can bring the magic with him.
  22. Yeah, sinkholes are considered earth movements and are usually not covered by homeowners insurance.
  23. You can draw a lot of attention while carrying a concealed baseball bat...
