  1. I was picturing a broomhandle. Very nice looking rifle even if it is temperamental
  2. I had surgery yesterday to repair my ring finger on my left hand. Doctors call it trigger finger, a knot on the leader where it goes through the guide. A simple procedure, no big deal. I was afraid I would have to put it off after coming down with covid but I recovered in time. The stress of worry has been very trying. My step son lost his father last week from complications of the same lung ailments I have. He didn't have covid but I have no doubt that it will be recorded that he did. I don't doubt many have died from this virus but it has been blown way out of proportion. Add in the anger and tears from the abandoning of Afghanistan, worry that I will lose my job for not getting the jab. How am I not crazy you ask? I have a good wife and an all powerful God that love me through thick and thin. And a bunch of friends most of whom I've never met in person here that make me laugh and yell daily. Thank you God and thank you friends.
  3. I am sure we could find new homes for the stock of parts. I have an AR pistol in .300BO but I'd like to build another just to do it. they are a good arm to have around even if they do eat a lot.
  4. Same story with my Iver Johnson except mine has a crack in the comb. I haven't ever fired it but I don't consider it useless at all. Since I don't hunt now I guess they are all useless to some but I love them all. At the risk of offending some, I agree with the OP, I see no use for the .410 wheelguns, but I still want one LMAO.
  5. I worked in plastics for too many years, Several different factory positions until China became the manufacturing place to be. Mechanic at several places then Management at Travel Centers. Worked for a company that builds dump bodies and snow plows as office manager/admin. Now work for a large autoparts distributer as product support specialist. In other words, I've not stayed with anything long enough to get to the top or retire.
  6. I watched some of the NYC anti vax march, lots of firefighters and cops. y'all know what happens when the NYC trash collectors stop working.
  7. UPDATE; Hornady has walked back the mandatory vax saying they only meant to announce that they are making it available on site. from report by "GUNS AND GADGETS" on utoob.
  8. Fact Check: Wife got vax. Wife got Covid. Wife was very sick. I didn't get vax. I got covid. I didn't get very sick, Vax does not prevent infection. Vax does not guarantee survival, Vax needs "booster". Mrs is back to work finally. I work from home and never missed a day, Yes, mandates infringe on your right of free choice by definition. I am smart enough to ask my doctor about what I do or do not need, Thanks for calling me stupid for being able to think. I am not disappointed either.
  9. Several outlets are reporting that Hornady manufacturing has issued a letter requiring employees to be vaccinated. A copy of a letter from Steve Hornady states they will have to be fully vaxed by November 10 to keep their jobs. Sad that gun manufacturers are bowing to these over-reaching mandates. the truth is government contracts are worded exactly and any changes supposedly would call for a re-bid process. By adding requirements, the government would be in breach of contract. If companies stand their ground they would not lose the business or could sue for losses. The tyranny is real. When you threaten people's livelihood what else can we call it? Claim: Ammo Maker Hornady to Enforce Worker Vaccine Mandate - En Bloc Press
  10. I'm not normally a fanatic but this one would be mine could I afford it.
  11. 3 o'clock. barely noticeable under a t-shirt. specifically, pistol is at 3. puts the mag a little to the front.
  12. my son just received his new holster and loves it. He bought my M43 Firestar and size 2 fits very well. seems to be well made and looks as good as the pictures. of course he doesn't have my spare tire to reach across. lol

I'm not trying to be a snob,,,it just comes naturally. I have never owned, shot, or touched a Glock. They are not astheticaly pleasing to my eyes. I also prefer hammer fired guns. I'm not saying they are bad, I just don't like them. What David said is of high importance. A handgun should feel good in your grip. This helps with natural point of aim and control. My favorite shooter fits me. Yours should fit you. I'm not a gun nut, or a car or motorcycle nut. I'm a machine nut and my firearms for the most part, reflect that. I think the AR is ugly. But I have one anyway because I know they work.

There are many more aspects to law enforcement so those who have little or no interest in firearms figure if they pass they are good enough. No disrespect intended there, a sidearm is just a tool for them. I can use a hammer but that does not make me a carpenter, just someone who can hit a nail if I need to.

We are here specifically to pass time on gun forum. so that is not a valid point. MOST law enforcement officers are not shooters and many only shoot when they have to qualify. so again, not a strong argument. I could give some long drawn out stories of my experience in the military or some great analogies from other sports. I could quote those who teach modern combat hand-gunning or competent gunsmiths. But no need. What is most important is the shooter. One must be prepared mentally and physically to use a handgun in order to save life by possibly taking another's. In a gunfight, every possible edge gets you infinitesimally closer to survival. I'll pay my money for what makes me comfortable and go thank you.
  16. I remember RBS being washed away. Also remember downtown being flooded in 1976 or 77.
  17. This place has been on the news magazine shows a few times. The owner is now a US congressperson. She has been in the news frequently. We need a place like that in Mid-Tenn

    NEW GRIPS

no issues, I can even one hand it with my off hand and maintain control.
  19. had a hankering for a cross draw for one of my .45s. put a straight drop on my off side and couldn't reach it with my strong hand. mind you I am overweight and have had spine surgeries that limit my twisting. On the bright side, it pushed me to lose the belly.
  20. nothing I have ever seen is as awesome as the A10 on an attack run! BRRRP! and GON on a wingtip 180 turn
  21. Ah the memories! When I was stationed on Hood with 1st Cav I rented a second floor apartment that was in the flight path of choppers ferrying in and out from a foreign places. couldn't keep ANYTHING on a wall or shelf LOL. When the Apache came out I had one scare the crap out of ne as I drove the edge of a tree line. He came in at treetop level from my right oblique and I never heard him coming. Love the Hueys, once you hear one you know it forever.
  22. never seen this one though I have seen VersaCarry. might be a bit awkward with my belly, but I actually like it. this is a good price for this brand as I have seen them at twice this for a speed scabbard style. When you carry oddball guns like I do you find a lot of oddball holsters
  23. Sorry to hear that. I have both sides torn, can't stand to raise my arms some days. Hope you get that fixed before it cn't be fixed.
