A friend of mine offered a Bayard “1908” pistol to me at a nice price and I jumped on it. This one is in the less common 380 caliber. It was rusty and missing the safety toggle. I disassembled as far as I felt safe doing. There is not a good exploded view of how it is put together. At least none that I can find. Cleaned up the rust and got it cycling smoothly. For more on these interesting early autos see here.https://unblinkingeye.com/Guns/Bayard/bayard.html Will replace the safety at some point.

The grips are really nice but I’m thinking these would make it really stand out. https://www.ebay.com/itm/382964733794?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=XOfGwxkiTT-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=CsQiqgA9SsC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Fit and finish is excellent, especially for a budget 1911. I think it’s who imports them . SDS is the importer.

I showed this to a friend of mine and he said it’s for the cheapskates that want a CMP 1911 but don’t want to pony up the dough for a real one.

I have this one on my Taurus TX22 Competition and am very happy with it. Comes with adapters for different mount types. It’s not a micro footprint such as RMS-C . When I got mine it didn’t work at first and I figured out the battery tray was making contact with the + parts of the battery. So I used a little bit of plastic for insulation and haven’t had another issue. I don’t think the company is around anymore as there website doesn’t work so no warranty anymore other than eBay returns. https://www.ebay.com/itm/166398086105?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=e_obRBc7QU-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=CsQiqgA9SsC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY video review I found

I just wish you didn’t have to send in all that paperwork again but I guess they don’t keep it on file. Hopefully it gets shredded before it hits the dumpster.

I hope Outpost brings some more used guns to the HV store. I’ve never found anything worth buying there in the past. -

I’ve had several Taurus pistols and a couple of revolvers. Just bought one of the new Taurus 327 Federal Magnum 2” SS revolvers. I missed out on the first run a few years ago. This feels like a nice little fun gun. Can’t wait to take it to the range with some 32ACP ,32 S&W Long, 32 H&R Magnum and some 327 FM to try out.

The VAR barrel makes it an excellent target Garand.

Another vote for the TX22. Been with me on every range trip for the last several years. For the last several months the Competition goes along. The newcomer for the next trip will be the Compact just recently purchased. I have a feeling I’m going to enjoy it just as much as the other two.
