  1. The local copperheads and rattlesnakes will be glad you killed it.
  2. Welcome and enjoy your retirement but stay busy.
  3. I’ve been wanting a S&W 1006. Hard to find.
  4. I love the folding bayonet on these. Very collectible rifle. A friend of mine has one of these that his father sporterised years ago. I know, so sad. He cut the bayonet off and cut the stock down. It’s still a great shooter though.
  5. Reminds me of Cracker Barrel fireplace guns.
  6. On July 4th we always have a military rifle shoot and show at Davidson County Sportsman Club. Little north of Nashville. It’s a good way for non members to try out the range and meet some of our members. Also to see and shoot some really unique rifles. We also grill out.
  7. Wow, that does look good. Doesn’t look like he did much if any buffing that would have rounded the edges. Do you know what method he used to blue it?
  8. Century used Green Mountain barrels for there VZ 2008 rifle builds. I know CIA has put out some dogs in there time but for the most part these had good reviews. Mine is very accurate.
  9. Had a chance to try it out yet? I always wondered how those kind of mounts do. Do they tend to move around with each shot so you can never really get it dialed in. Did you have the bolt bent or buy one already done? Looks good.
  10. Definitely more than $350 in parts there. Especially if some of the parts are the harder to find manufacturers. I remember driving up to the CMP North store to pick out a Garand from all those racks. I stood there for a while in awe. Think I paid about $350 +- back then. The good old days.
  11. Long time member of Gunboards and mostly a collector of WW1 - WW2 rifles from all countries. Member of Davidson County Sportsman Club where I target shoot occasionally. About the only gun show I get to any more is the Tennessee Military Collector’s Show twice a year but it’s actually been a couple of years sense I’ve even been there. My other hobbies are collecting and restoring antique radios and vintage Geiger counters .
