I only have a 1970 Winchester M94 30-30 but want a Rossi in 38/357 . My dream leaver would be a Winchester M1895 in 7.62x54 Russian

Many different pistols and calibers over the years. Many of the same ones mentioned here. But it seems like for the last few years I’ll most of the time just grab my old faithful pocket gun. My Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 380 with CT laser. Loaded with Hornady Critical Defense.

Welcome and enjoyed your post. Best of luck in your new career adventure, sounds exciting. It’s always a pleasure working doing what you enjoy.

Welcome and welcome back to the enjoyment of shooting. Having a Makarov shoved in your hand is a great way to catch the bug. You’ll have to post a pic of the 1891 Argentine if you can sometime . Those are beautiful rifles and many of us would like to see it.

Thanks, I was very happy with the deal as well. Yeah it’s got the mag safety. I’ll probably keep it the way it is. The trigger is very smooth as is. I know some remove the mag safety to get a slightly better trigger.

Very nice! I’ve been watching for one of these but haven’t seen one at that price. Well done!

Good looking collection there!

Haha, nope. Now if I can only run across a deal on a 1006

Been on the lookout for one of these so when I ran across a nice one at an out of the way gun shop For $200 I jumped on it.

I agree. But I’ve always liked oddball calibers anyway. For example it’s kinda exciting when I run across a box of 8mm Siamese at a gunshow for a good price for that one rifle I have that used it. The thrill of the hunt I guess.

A major improvement, well done.

Which would probably make it more desirable

After I bought mine I did read somewhere that the slide spring and magazine springs were thought to be an issue. That they needed broken in being overly strong. So I decided to try something. Before I even shot it I locked the slide open and fully loaded the three magazines and left it that way for about a month. When I finally got it to the range it functioned flawlessly through around 200 rounds of mixed ammunition. All target ammo, I did not try any hollow points. Wasn’t thinking about this as a carry weapon anyway. Will eventually try defensive ammo nevertheless.

Would make MacGyver proud , if he liked guns. -
I bought one of the CT Crismon Trace version and so far it’s been perfect. Speaking of hard to disassemble, try fully taking apart and reassembling an old classic original. Now that’s fun

Looking for the "perfect" property carry gun...for snakes and other critters.
Gurn replied to TennGunner's topic in Handguns
Here’s a snake story for ya. Several years back I was doing a roof on a house that was basically in the middle of a field. The old plywood was being all replaced and every sheet we pulled out had hidden under it on top of the insulation at least 3-4 snake skins. There were hundreds of skins up there. We told the owner about it and he said they have never seen a snake in the house but to please not tell his wife about what we found. Haha. I guess all those field snakes were using the attic as their headquarters. He did say they had also never seen a rodent in the house either. -
I was at the Tennessee Military Collectors Association show this Easter weekend and saw several at high prices. What a difference a few years makes. I use to see them there for $100 +- all day long. Didn’t see many of them selling though.

Wouldn’t mind trying it out but I started remodeling the bathroom yesterday. Been promising my wife I’d start this project for several years. Lol. Looking forward to the show report. Have fun! -
Smith and Wesson stainless steel autos. Have a 5906, 4006, and a 645. Would love to find one of their 10mm versions to complete my collection.

Welcome. It’s funny how people are escaping CA to move to Nashville and then many of us Nashvillians are escaping and moving out further.
