  1. Welcome to TGO. Good to see one more good guy in Memphis.
  2. That's nice. I'm pretty interested in doing a 9mm build next year. Let us know if you have any issues with the mag block. What magazines are you using, by the way?
  3. Despite what you hear about in the news regarding big data breaches, the single most common way people have their identities stolen is through their mailbox. The second most common is through your glove box. You likely have some local meth heads either looking to steal identities for their next fix, or worse, they're acting as mules for organized crime in return for their particular vice, and aren't smart enough to realize it. So often when we are dealing with identity theft, it's really hard to hold a person accountable for the crime. One of the most frustrating things I see when walking into a courtroom is a victim coming in with a big stack of papers detailing everything they've had to deal with, and regardless of what happens in the courtroom, they leave a victim. More often than not, it doesn't make it that far because most local police departments don't have the skills or manpower to track the perps down, so they avoid even taking a report on something that will wind up contributing to unsolved crime statistics. The moral of this story, is it sounds like you may have the unique opportunity to help everyone out by getting some bad guys off the street. If you get pictures with a trail cam or similar, I know some guys who would be awfully interested in busting some mules and making an example of them. Location is everything with the camera, don't put it in the mailbox, but close by with a good view would be ideal. Good luck.

    Pocket Holsters

That Kramer hoster is good looking. I use a couple of Robert Meco's holsters (link mentioned above). His quality is great. I've been using one for about a year with no signs of wear.
  5. Sorry to hear that. You'll be in our prayers.
  6. Welcome from Nashville. Hope you decide to stick around.
  7. Nice work. You should be proud to carry that!

Be careful not to get caught with picking tools on your person. A lot of jurisdictions view them as burglary tools. It's a great skill to have, though.
  9. That sounds like experience talking. I am always paranoid about this happening, as mine almost always comes part of the way out. I probably check it 5 times before I get it all back together.
  10. Sweet. It's great to know that we were able to take some of the load off someone in a tough time.
  11. Hey, that's great to hear. Thanks for posting. Let us know how the surgery went, too.
  12. Do yourself the favor of learning how to field strip your Mark III. You will have a much cleaner weapon, and will feel better about your skills in doing it. Be prepared to spend 45 minutes the first time you do it. After you figure it out, it's easy to repeat. There's nothing difficult, it's just a little tricky. The key to it all is the hammer strut must be in the correct position to get the mainspring housing to close. Follow the manual and you'll get it right. I see that you are in Nashville, if you have any problems, PM me know and I'll be happy to show you how to do it. http://ruger.com/products/_manuals/markII.pdf
  13. Morton's: 8oz. filet creamed spinach hashbrowns go with the bacon wrapped scallop appetizer - with the orange chutney sauce they serve it with, you'll want to lick the plate. I personally prefer the key lime pie, but for the chocolate fans, the molten chocolate cake will ensure that they have to wheel you out of there at the end of the night.
  14. Kegger's right. The barrel has a hole in it where the gas port sits. You could theoretically plug the one hole and drill another, but it would be cheaper and easier to just get a carbine length barrel.
  15. You shouldn't have any issue. Military brass is a little thicker, but in a 700 you shouldn't have any problem shooting quality milsurp ammo.
  16. I'm definitely in. I'll probably wait for the DVD set, though. If I were to get HBO, it better come with a bottle of vodka and an unemployment application.
  17. I'm sure it has changed. I always used to love eating there, but always thought what a cool place it would be if someone really spent the money to restore it and use it to it's fullest extent. I'll definitely check it out.
  18. Was Libby Fryer the lady that operated the place when it was the Townhouse Tea Room? I used to love to got there for lunch when I worked downtown. That lady was not to be crossed - but the food was good. I'll have to bring the wife there when we get a night out.
  19. If you've really got time, it will cost a lot less today than it will tomorrow. I know a couple of the private institutions in Middle Tenessee are raising their tuitions by as much as 10% a year over the next 3-5 years. I'll second what jack said about appropriate counseling. As a college degree seems to have become the latest equivilent of a high school diploma, you need to either go economically, or really spend some time making sure that your future earnings will be enough to pay off you student loans. I know that my wife will never offset her student loans that she got at Vanderbilt while earning her masters (with a lot of scholarship built in) at today's Williamson County pay rates. She says all the time that if she had it to do over again, she might have skipped it. That's not to say that you should skip it, just make sure that you are either really committed to the idea, or that you can justify the investment now for earnings in the future.
