  1. Seems pretty straightforward to me. Shouldn't influence anyone at all.
  2. A well armed man. Not sure...but I might reconsider my carry location on that pig sticker though.
  3. You really can't go wrong with either of these, imho anyway. Over the last couple of years, I have gravitated to the 9mm 1911s. Super sweet shooters.
  4. Yes buddy...Congratulations on the fine Python. Now sell me that 38Super at a deal! For me, that is. lol
  5. Thanks for the reply, brother. I thought that was on of her grips. Absolutely love her work. I haven't checked lately, but I have heard a rumor that Esmerelda has stopped making her grips. Sad if true. The lady had soul and spirit that came thru in all her work. Cheat? No, I disagree. As we/I age, holding a steady sight picture, as well as seeing it...gets harder and harder. 12/15 yards is about it for me as well with a pistol. Could do better I think with a carbine and some scope. But haven't been able to shoot anything other than 9 carbines in years. If we ever get out of Nashville, I hope to be able to do as you do. It must be wonderful to have a personal range. Kudos for your shooting situation.
  6. WOW! That's quite a load of firepower for one session. lol I'm very envious. I've gotten away from that. 1 or 2 is about all I take anymore. First all the weight of multiple pistols and ammo is getting to me, and secondly, my old body just can't seem to take the trek and standing anymore. Dad shot 1911 pretty much all the time, but I liked his 9mm more back then. However, in the last decade or so, I've really taken to the 1911s and the big .45. I think dad would approve. Getting old and unsteady really stinks! BTW...what's the pistol in your injury pick? Is that one of Esmerelda's Celtic Cross grips?
  7. I can't really disagree with you, but on the basis of the T120 and the CZ75...I'm still open to discussion. lol I've bought pretty much on "like" and "feel" criteria for the vast majority of my pistols. I can't really say I've bought an "investment" firearm more than once or twice. I really don't have the money to do that, I just like having and shooting them. That being said, I do have several items that I'd say are purely defensive purposed; and the others just range toys. But few have any real high$ value as an investment. I have a couple of Smiths that might qualify under that, but not bought for that purpose. I was around Smiths growing up, and just like the pre-lock revolvers. LOL I guess I could say that about all of them. Back to the OP's original question...I'd prefer a CZ in most cases over the Tristar/Canik pistols. Not a set in stone rule for me though. I'm very fickle in my pistol tastes. After re-reading the original post, I see that hughd did specify the CZ75 as being the pistol he was comparing the T120 with. So I have modified some things I said, and added and deleted a comment or two. In short. Yes...CZ75 first, and the Tristar T120 later. But not written off completely. lol
  8. I have several Czs. Poly and steel frame models. No complaints about any of them. I don't shoot 1000's of rounds thru them, but all work reliably and are great shooters. Of course the steel frame guns are softer shooters, but the weight makes carry with them a difficult proposition for me. The smaller models like the 75 compact, the RAMI, and the PCR are really nice size carry pistols. As for the TriStar 120, an early Canik model from what I understand; I have no personal knowledge. I'd like to have one to try. The current Canik models like the TP9 series...I absolutely adore! I have a TP9sa and an SFx model. Great pistols. Ergonomics are great(for me, anyway), the trigger is wonderful. Has a short and very audible reset "click" making double-taps or sting fire super easy. I'd have a hard time saying which of the TP9 or the HKVP9 or the Walther PPQ is the best. All meet the comments I made above, and all are great range and house guns for me. You mentioned the T120 being 120 less than the CZ. Price is important, that is true. In the current market, I probably would go with the CZ Looking a bit, I found the T120 on classicfirearms.com for 360. Gun Broker has starting prices around that, and Bud's is 379. Seeing all this, I'm very tempted to go for one! lol
  9. Now you fit right in with Jeremy Clarkson! lol Longtime fan of those 3 wacky lads.
  10. So sorry to hear this. A sinner's humble prayers for you all.
  11. I can understand that!
  12. Members Mark from Sam's Club. Yeah, probably from China. But at around 14 bucks a pair, and good sturdy material. Wearing them now. They wash out nicely. Has a good feel to them.
  13. From what I can tell, the G96 1054 seems to be the same manufacturer as Lou/Lone Wolf's product. But not sure totally. Just got attracted by the pricing of 6 bottles for 19.95. No real need for a new product, just interested. Guess I'll stay with my current regimine of Hoppes #9 and Balistol.
  14. So what will you do now? Serious question here. I cannot say I'm real impressed with the way this has gone for you. I had given a little thought to buying one. I liked the feel of the Spectrum, but your results may top the interest I had for it.
  15. Good morning guys. Got another email this morning from Lone Wolf Survivalist. I have a question for you about this product. The G96 Synthetic CLP. Lots of claims on it, both written and verbal from the site. Sounds like the latest wonder product. And yes I'm curious about it. Anyone ever use it? I have CLP, but if I'm reading this correctly, this product is not from the producers of CLP, just a copy, synthetic version. Any comments on this? Thanks for looking.
  16. Hmmm. Don't place this. I'll look it up.
  17. A Shield or a Glock 43x. Yeah, I know...I'm being a jerk. Just not been a fan of the 238/938 pistols. But as to your situation, check their site for all the various models and see what strikes your fancy.

    Glock 48?

I guess the reality is that I'm just not willing to spend 500 for the 43x. With my Shield 9 and 45, I have a lot tied up in them. Very little return on selling them. So little that I'll keep them unless absolutely must sell them.

    Glock 48?

I've had the opportunity to check the 43x and I am impressed with it. Enough so that I'm considering a purchase...and this from a hardcore Shield fan.
  20. Crap. Somewhere in my stash, I have 5/6 boxes of the white box bulk packs. Guess I'll be searching tomorrow.
  21. Yes, know where you are placing your bench, and the closest sizing you can make. That will make your project much easier and will look better. When I started benches/tables in my garage...I had a lot of salvaged cabinets from an office building. They were heavy, very heavy. Not all of them were the same size. So I had to do a bit of cutting and even adding a board to the bacs of some to make everything mate up. But to me, most importantly, make it work for you. Get your height and top depth so that it meets your size. Not too short or tall, nor too deep as to make it difficult to sit and work. Good luck, sir. And have fun with it. Really. It should be a fun build and give you much satisfaction. Measure...neat idea. lol You have no idea how many sides became leg posts and top braces for the top decking before I settled down and really paid attention. I tried to cut exact and had a lot just a wee bit too short. So I learned if you're not a pro...cut long and then shorten it to fit.
  22. You have good taste in handguns. Really fond of my PPQ. The trigger and reset on them is just amazing. I liked the 9mm so much that I bought a 45 PPQ. It wasn't a mistake, but I've found that I do prefer the 9 version. Should offer it for sale of trade, but just haven't gotten around to it. As for me, the personal favorite "plastic" guns just have to be the PPQ, Canik TP9SFx, and the HKVP9. Of course the uber dependable Glocks are in the mix as well, but the others are just more fun at the range.
  23. Would love to own either of these cars!
  24. Adaptation and reuse. I love it.
  25. That's an wonderful find! Would love to have it myself. But wife would kill me for bringing it in. No floor space left in the garage now.
