  1. I don't. After looking at some of those pictures...I feel ill. I'd rather see the Kentucky Conan again than some of those.
  2. Gets worse evey time I see it.
  3. Mikey, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know that you already miss her and will continue to do so until you're all reunited. My prayers are with you and your family.
  4. A Cold Steel K-Bar. Should be a good one. Looks very interesting. I'll check my sourses as well.
  5. My condolences. I've had that scenerio. You rarely win with them.
  6. Very goodlooking work.
  7. Very nice Kimbers. I have a Pro Carry II and a Raptor II, and would like to try a 9mm version next.
  8. Is the Kimber a 9mm as well? I've been really thinking about a 1911 in 9. It's sounding better and better all the time.
  9. Laughing. Crying. Laughing so hard I'm losing my vision. That's Great!!!!
  10. I confess. I didn't know either, and I should. My father-in-law has several Nambu's. Sherman? Don't remember the armament.
  11. OUCH!!!

    Kahr CM9

Erik88 and OhSoot have viable points and I hope that is the case. I have a K9 and it is a fine weapon, and although its not too much larger than the PM9, I wouldn't mind downsizing if the quality and performance is the same.
  13. For those of us with small to medium hands, I beleive they really do offer a better grip choice. But I think it is the particular gun. its' width and girth, as well as the individual that makes this worthwhile. In short, the interchangeable backstraps are a sales gimmick, but they do serve a purpose for some of us. Case in point, I recently bought a Storm PX45 SD and found the smallest backstrap to be a better fit for me than the medium and large. The Storm had the largest on when I picked it up for the first time and it really felt too big to hold comfortably. After changing it out, the fit was very much improved. YMMV
  14. Once again...Absloutely beautiful work.
  15. Yes, but you do it sooooo well.
  16. Ok, I'm second-guessing you and your observed gun habits. When you get ready to sell...can I get in line for this?
  17. I've been having the same issues as well...without my reading glasses, I can see the target clearly, but fuzzy sights. Reading glasses help the sight alignment, but then I get a blurry target picture. As already suggested, look into new glasses first. Laser surgery isn't for everyone. Looks like I'm going to be in tri-focal lens' now. I'll let you know if they work for me.
  18. I bought a used Litewight Loaded Operator about a year ago. Blue, 4" model. It had seen better days..scuffed and neglected. Even so, it shot well and accurately. I have put maybe 500 rounds thru it since and has never failed me. Of course a good thorough cleaning was performed and I had a Local shop's smith check it over for me. Are you getting new or used? Either way, Springfield makes good weapons...from mid-range entry level 1911's to some really nice custom guns that can run into several thousand ++. Just check it over, and if you're like me with only a rudimentary knowledge of wear levels and indicators...have a good gunsmith check it out. Hope this helped.
  19. Ammoman.com. Prices include shipping, to your door. Have bought several thousand rounds from them without issues of any kind. And they won't say it's out of stock after you order. If you want good service, good name brand quality ammo, check out the site.
  20. Beautiful gun. Had a chance to buy one a couple of years ago, didn't; and have regreted it ever since. Good shooting to you.
  21. NRange Gun Shop 1008 Lavergne Circle. 615-431-2132 It's a bit far out, past the Saundersville Road Exit off V/V Pkwy. But as stated, nice people and a smaller shop than G&L of Hendersonville. No range partions, but the shooting distance is longer. G&L distance is 27 feet I'm told, and NRange is 45. The people do seem to want your business and make you feel wanted there, more so than the G&L atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, not criticizing, just comparing.
  22. Very nice. I really like the Kimber slide serrations and the cuts on the forestrap. I seem to have been bittten by the Kimber bug, or in this case the snake, lately. Just picked up a Raptor II. Haven't had it out yet, but I did go by Eastside Gun Shop and have John Wall check it out. He gave it a clean bill of health with one reservation--a possible need to re-arch the extractor. I'm going to run some rounds thru before starting mods on it.
  23. That's just cruel. You know the slingshot is higher velocity.
  24. Hey, Caster. Yor're too late. Phil Valentine started talking about stockpiling incandescent bulds several years ago on his radio show. Made references then to storing up light bulbs and weapons on his "compound'' and doing blackmarket sales until the tree huggers and the lite police caught up with him. But I'd bet that two industrious guys like you could corner the "Blacklite and Fuzzy Elvis" poster market.
  25. Hopefully mandatory use of cfl's will go away soon after. Some of them do put out great amounts of light, but some of us old geezzers don't like to read by them. Pages of print look funny and I get headaches from the lighting.
