  1. Guy N. summed it up pretty well for me. All your points have merit; and it is your organization. But...I'll go out on a limb here and add one more comment; how about the fun factor--the enjoyment derived from the board and it's membership. I orginally came here to learn a little, meet some good people, and generally have a pleasant time. Being educated and gathering information is a wonderful thing...but don't take all the pleasure out.
  2. I fully understand your comment. The 1911/9mm is a very fun gun to shoot and usually quite accurate. But a buddy of mine is having a custom 1911 frame for 38Super built. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
  3. Finished up last weekend. Mostly because my wife did 90% of it already.
  4. They are every bit as addictive as the 1911 bug. Be very cautious. I said I'd never own one. Then I acquired a G22 in a trade. That led to a G30. Now a G19. What's next? My Springfields are getting jealous.
  5. Already said better than I can, but; welcome home and thanks for a job well done.
  6. That's why those heavy, stone-age pieces of cheap pot-metal are still popular in the days of polymer guns I guess.
  7. Everyone nows Sigs are indestrutible. Whatever form of abuse did you subject this fine weapon to in order to damage it in such a fashion? Said in complete jest...They're fine guns. I've owned several. And the gun I most regret selling was a bi-tone P220 that a friend talked me out of.
  8. Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm trying to find the same type as my old one; but it seems to be out of style. It wasn't anything fancy, just comfortable for me.
  9. Not a clue!
  10. Acquired a new gen 3 G19 recently. Added Truglo sights, extended mag release and takedown lever. I'm content for now...Except now I want to work on my G30.
  11. Thanks for the headsup. I had thought about going, but it's too cold for this old fart to go to Gallatin for that little to see. I really only wanted to see about an inexpensive range bag to replace my old one anyway. But there will be another show soon.
  12. Excellent description of this movie. Ridiculous, but fun to watch for the action and the firearms. But really shows off the age of these guys.
  13. Don't worry about the age of a thread, I've done the same thing several times and don't really care. Neither should you. If it looks interesting to you and you have a comment, or if its just good information or even just fun...jump right in. It's all for learning, teaching and just having comradship with some hopefully intelligent people.
  14. TSA...thousands standing around... for your safety.
  15. Congratulations to you both. God Bless him and all others in service to our Country.
  16. Sorry to nitpick; but I believe the article said it would be a verbal report via a smartphone.
  17. That's so uncool.
  18. Sometimes I really, really hate these infernal machines.
  19. The only way to travel.
  20. For whatever its worth, recently picked up one utilizing 9mm Beretta mags. Haven't taken it to the range yet, so I'll have to let you know the results later. And no, I don't have pictures, I can just barely use this forum, let alone a camera and transfering pictures.
  21. All of the above. And if you can read that without a tear or three...and don't feel ashamed of how little we give in return for them; I'm verry sorry for you.
  22. I have a long history of being overly anal about keeping boxes from my diecast purchases and other things, so I can understand your dilemma. Personally, I am blessed to have an attached garage that can't, because of some land issues, be used for vehicles. So I have built cabinets and wall storage to house all my crap...uh, make that important stuff. And yes, I do try to keep all boxes for my gunsin the unlikely event I do sell one.
  23. .. .... I mean come on guys...I know there are no tornado's bearing down on us...but at least take a gander out the window. What??? ...and do something logical andrealistic??? Update... it is now 19 in the middle, middle, down in this little hollow between hills on my street.
  24. Beautiful!!

My compliments to the photographer. A great shot. And you got good taste in firearms, too.
