Can't help but wonder what the Iranians picked up in China and was hauling back. Doesn't sound to much like chemicals to me, more liek nuclear stuff. LINK Highlights from story.... Somali pirates suffered skin burns, lost hair and fell gravely ill “within days†of boarding the MV Iran Deyanat. Some of them died. “We don’t know exactly how many, but the information that I am getting is that some of them had died. There is something very wrong about that ship.†The ship is owned and operated by the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines, or IRISL, a state-owned company run by the Iranian military. The ship set sail from Nanjing, China, at the end of July. He told one news publication, The Long War Journal, that during the six days he had negotiated with the pirates, a number of them had become sick and died. “That ship is unusual,†he was quoted as saying. “It is not carrying a normal shipment.†“Our sources say it contains chemicals, dangerous chemicals.†The pirates did reveal that they had tried to inspect the ship’s cargo containers when some of them fell sick — but the containers were locked.

He may have wanted to wait until he had full use and control over both his arms before beginning the beatings.... after all he is a Marine and from what I hear they really don't like to be pulled away from something until they are really done with it.

Honestly I am not trying to stir the pot... I did read where the guy posted his explanation of the situation. Which is odd considering he isn't allowing Oleg the ability to post either his rebuttal, or at the least his side of the situation. As an outsider this would make me rather wary of anything he had to say. I think I'll wait until the I can read the court transcripts.

I mention this only because it is funny to me... I'm not a member of the THR forum However I was just over there reading the "General Discussion" Section. I noticed a thread started called "Boycott" and began to read it. Last post... "Thread will be deleted in 3... 2... 1..." Then I refreshed the page showing the thread... still there. For giggles I refreshed it again... GONE! Then I would refresh the page and see what is started... Then refresh again to see what is deleted... I know, it's takes very little to amuse me but I can't help but think how I would hate to be an admin, or mod over there. Hahahha!!! It just really strikes me as funny. (and I'm not trying to be mean in pointing this out.) It's like watching a game of minesweeper! LOL!

HERE is what we use when we backpack. MSR Miniworks $84.95 (It's my brother-in-laws.) What I like... • Small • Pretty light • Easy to clean the ceramic filter (filters last VERY long) • You can screw a nalgene bottle to it to pump directly in it • Very easy to use • Comes with a little gauge that tells you when to change the filter. Little pricey, but I look at it as an investment. I want to buy my own, just to speed up getting water filtered. Right now we have four of us using it. Which isn't real bad, cause you end up setting around talking while you do it. I have seen other guys using those ultra violet pens. Those a re a little more pricey, use batteries, (can break, but then again anything can) and if you have some sediment in the water you'll still want to strain it through something.

I only pay attention to two "gun" forums. (TGO & HKpro) But I do lurk every now and then by others when looking for specific information on something. Was surprised to read about this on Oleg's site. From Oleg's Site... "In December 2002, I founded The High Road forum dedicated to the advancement of responsible gun ownership. Recently, it was discovered that in 2006, the volunteer forum systems administrator, Derek Zeanah of Statesboro, Georgia, changed domain registration to himself. After he was confronted, Derek locked out all other staff from accessing the Web server administration and would not share even backup copies of its content. After failed attempts to peacefully resolve the dispute, it has become necessary for me to initiate a lawsuit against Derek Zeanah for the return of thehighroad.org domain name and the forum database." Anybody else seen this? Weird.

Coming Soon: New look and feel for TGO...

Too bad you can't fix it where only benefactors could use it for the first month. They could act as your "beta" testers for the month and be another perk for helping fund TGO. Uh... wait a minute... I'm not a benefactor! Uh... uh... just scratch that idea. -
I find myself amazed at just how un-observant some people are.

I really am at a loss... I find myself in a strange situation when I read this thread. It is hard for me to fathom how someone I had never met in the flesh (and sadly now never will) can make me feel as though I have lost a friend. I have always enjoied his wit, as well as his knowledge. It was always a joy to look through the "new posts" and see where he had added his comments. I seemed to have a smile on my face when I would "click" on those threads first. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, and his friends. I am truly sorrow for your loss. -Mike

Need advice on soft AR case
creeky replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I have an Olive Drab one from Tac-Force. But it holds two rifles. http://tac-force.com/dts42dualguncase.aspx I paid about $65 bucks for it at Knob Creek during the machine gun shoot a couple of years ago. Well made. Heavy duty zippers, thick canvas material, compartment on the side can hold eight 30rd. AR mags easy. Has a good shoulder strap. Holds my wife's AK, and my AR (16") just fine. I sometimes put my Savage 110 in there, so it will hold it, but is tight. No tie down straps... that would have been cool. They had 'em that only held one, for the same price. But I was looking for one that held two. I have a cheap "ACE" case that is about 10 years old if I want to carry just one. It's black, and holds five mags on the outside. Think I paid $30 bucks for it back then. Here is a really crappy picture that probably won't help much of the Tac force... more for color reference than anything else. -
I think that is the first step of Radical Muslims... get a sovereign state within countries everywhere then spread within said state like a cancer. Notice the problems in the Philippines... no real problems, then all of a sudden you have terrorists wanting a separate part of the land to be there own and to live under a strict Islamic Law. (Or at least that is how I view it.)
