A 5.56 pistol that takes AR mags... USA made with the ability to clear the pistol range, I wanted one of these for a long time. Congrats on your fun gun!
-
Wow! I've never shot a 10 round 50 yard group with a rifle that small. That's incredible! Gorgeous pistol, thanks for sharing your pics with those of us who can't shoot one.

Wasn't the .357 Magnum made longer than needed so it wouldn't fit in non-magnum pistols? Personally I'd prefer something more along the lines of a Kel-Tec PLR chambered in 357 or 44 magnum. But I'm a little biased as I'd have to run a string through the trigger guard connecting my thumb and trigger finger in order to shoot this hand-Coonan. IF this pistol can handle Buffaloe Bore type loads I can see the appeal. Probably see the shock blast too!

jdavis, my 2nd gen G19 would love a new slide stop lever. My love handles have polished the original one to a shiny silver. Thanks, Kevin

The Glock is much more versatile as a weapon. The Lightweight J-frame is easier to carry in a normal size pocket from what I've read. As far as worth, is it a brand new G27?

Above the magwell is a dimple on each side. Most stamped AK's have them except for most WASR's and Saiga's. I believe it is there help keep the magazine from rattling. My Surefire's and Saiga factory mags are perfect fits. But my R reworked Galil mags visibly rock back and forth. They still function on the limited amount that I've shot them so far. I realize your question was just answered, but this is the first time I've sat down today. So even though you haven't "done" much to it I bet your conversion will go a little smoother... Dang those dimples look awful sexy though!
-
You even have a dimpled Saiga, I know that makes alot of us conversion owners EXTREMELY jealous. Very nice set of EBR's.

I prefer to see flames coming out of the barrel. However, IF, I do think one set of flames at the muzzle end does look cool. BUT you may only carry a Glock with flames if your ride also has them.

I owned a well used Kel-Tec Sub 2000 9mm Glock magazine model for a few months. Put around 300 flawless rounds through it using Glock factory and KCI magazines. Mostly Winchester white box, but I did shoot some 90, 115, 124 and 147 grain hollowpoints just to see what happened. I was able to wear out the torso of a silhouette target at 50 yards. The sights worked well for me at quick shots but were detrimental for "target" shooting. I was impressed by the Kel-Tec and plan on buying another one.

Good buy, nice AK:) I have the Galil forearm/ T6 stock combo on a Saiga.Although they feel flimsy and look funny (to me), actually shooting them felt comfortable. I did manage to slightly melt the top of the handguard after a 30 round zombie drill. The ability to change the length of pull was helpful for my few prone shots. Let us know how your AK holds up. Enjoy shooting it!

You could also switch the front sight for a different color one. I'm considering doing that because I have to raise the muzzle after I draw so that I'm positive where my front sight is in the dark. I've also read alot about "Big Dot" front sights which also seem like a good idea. I'm also curious if you unknowingly rotate your head to the right causing your honker to get in the way of your dominant eye's line of sight.

I love my J.C.Higgins Model 34. I bought the cheapest Wally World scope and it "works" but I wish I'd bought a nicer one... You do have the narrow 3/8 inch mounting groove. Currently I just scrape chalk on the front sight but will probably invest in a quality rimfire scope in the near future. Or an adapter for my Eotech In optics I believe that you get what you pay for. Have fun shooting your 50+ year old rifle!

My 2 pistols are a 2nd generation G19 and a Springfield Mil-Spec. Night sights are awesome. Put green Ameriglo's on my old G19, can't believe I left those plastic factory sights on there for 14 years. If you check around you can probably find a shop that will install them for free. Of course... then your 1911 will want some and they will cost moolah to get installed:)

What a nice family photo. I'm not sure why you guys claim 1911's are addictive, I've had one for over 5 months and haven't bought another one YET... Thanks for sharing your collection with us

Sweet 1911! I am putting a Les Baer TRS on my wish list... Can I ask why 500 rounds of Golden Sabres for the break in? Is that the only round that you carry/shoot?
-
Dry-firing(safely) changed my life! Well... Maybe not that dramatic but you will see your group sizes cut in half. Kudos for your honesty when posting your targets... Also please tell your friend that we forgive them for "limp-wristing" their G36.

Finally got to shoot my Saiga 223 at 50 yards today. Of course it was late afternoon, with the sun hanging low in the sky, at about 1 o'clock behind the target. Not to mention I have a boo boo on my trigger finger. Anyways, I opened up my brick of Hornady steel cased 55 grain FMJ-BT MADE IN THE USA training ammo. Didn't shoot, smell or frustrate me like my brick of Wolf did. Of course it did cost me $45 more for 500 rounds than my Wolf did a year and a half ago. Maybe only $25 difference currently. Anyways to the point, after rigging a shade so that only the front sight had glare, I was able to shoot a 3 shot slightly less than one inch group while resting on my Ace Case pistol bag. That is exactly the same as I could shoot my former AR with iron sights and brass case Remington 55 grainers. When it warms up I'll do a side by side comparison with my sissy AR-totin shooting buddies... Can't wait to try the 100 yard at Prentice Cooper but I don't hang targets there without a friend watching my six. Other than my canted front sight I couldn't be happier with my Russian 223.

45acp Speer Gold Dot on Sale at....
Kevo replied to Magiccarpetrides's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Thanks for the tip MCR! I was lucky enough to stumble into some WWB 45ACP hollow points and these end up being about the same price without having to drive anywhere. FWIW I tried 50 of the wally world JHPs through my almost broken in Springfield Mil-Spec and they functioned perfectly and were much more accurate than the FMJs. However, getting premium hollowpoints for wally world pricing is phenomenal! -
That is awesome! I'd love to see that sucker shoot at dusk... Of course I'd be wearing ear plugs and muffs. I was recently fondling my AK and thinking if it had a folding stock it could ride in the front seat. That sucker with a short mag could sit in your lap. Thanks for sharing your pictures!

Having owned a Glock for 14 years, I have no plans to change brands in a 9mm non-pocket pistol. However, even though all of my various shooting buddies admire my Glock's performance. Only a few have switched. The most common response after shooting my 2nd Generation G19 is that the grip and trigger feel funny. Even after I put on the Hogue Slip-on they smile and just say the trigger feels funny. Different strokes for different folks... I can't wait to try a fourth generation!

Welcome!

Wow, great job! How long did it take you?

I also have a Galil style handguard and love it. Let us know how the folder works out. Now when you bury it for a few years it will still have furniture left. All you'll have to do is stomp the bolt open and clear the barrel. WOLVERINES!
