  2. Thanks, yea he was pretty heavy for around here. Boy did he have an odor if you know what I mean. I say it's a two an a half year old. The one I saw Sun. looked to be about the same size. But it was only a quick look as he seen me before I seen him. lol
  3. Here's a little 8 pointer I killed Saturday morning at about 8:15. Used my TCA .54 CAL. Renagade.[/img] If I had passed on this one, somebody else around here would have taken him later on this year. I saw another one very similar to this one Sunday morning. I had gotten down and was checking out what little was left of the gut pile, and he saw me before I saw him.

    I don't have a drinking problem, I drink, I get drunk, I fall down.
  5. I have a few that I would like to get bloody this year. Not in any specific order, two rifles I got from my father in law, a Savage pump in .35 remmy, a Marlin 45-70, a new to Puma .357, and my .41 mag. Ruger BH. And some of these will have to take a doe being that we can only take 3 bucks this year, and I have already killed one Sat. with the ML. Will post picture of said deer this after noon.

They look great, and we all have to start somewhere. Nice start.
  8. Welcome aboard, and congrats on your first purchase. Ruger makes some good firearms, I don't have any experience with the SR's. But I do own a few Rugers. As was said above they can be addictive though.

  22. 240 gr. has served me well in the past. Year before last I shot one at about 65yds. knocked him flat on his a$$.
  23. I have several other choices, but a couple of years ago I bought a .223 bolt gun, for varmit hunting. One evening that deer season I was sitting in the barn and a young deer walked by at about 75, 80 yds. Shot it right behind the shoulder with a 62 grain copper jacketed hp, I think it went maybe 15 yds. The bullet didn't exit but was right inside the skin on the other side.
