  1. Those are neat little knives with a lot of workmanship built into a small package. For the average consumer Spyderco makes one of similar form as well.
  2. I have also toyed with the idea of using those big magnets and mounting one over a door frame of a closet, would be out of reach for our kids for a while and super accessible. Can't imagine many folks that break in would think to look above the door inside a closet, but a small pistol safe would be easy grab and go bait.
  3. I use a sentry bio safe that also has the button option. I had an earlier version of the gun vault and it was horribly unreliable.
  4. We do have two small children and my wife does not carry so the likelihood of her being armed in the house is almost 0
  5. For those who have a multi level home do you have a weapon on both floors in a quick access location? We have a bedside pistol in a biometric safe and I am thinking of doing a similar thing on the ground level as well. For those who have done it is it 100% the exact same setup and if no why?
  6. I could be wrong, but I believe the matriarch has a smaller blade?

    Bedside Safe

I had one of the early versions of the gunvault bio and I had about a 50% success rate on the fingerprint and no backup keypad option. I would not recommend them.

    Bedside Safe

I recently picked up one of the Sentry biometric pistol safes and I have been really happy with it. https://www.amazon.com/Sentry-Biometric-Access-Pistol-QAP1BE/dp/B00EXQW672/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494013027&sr=8-1&keywords=biometric+gun+safe
  9. I had that same BB gun, it was accurate to at least 2x as far as that telescope could see.
  10. I have a reciprocating side charger from 2VetsArms. It is my only AR so no real learning curve vs a typical style. I had some gas tuning issues at first, but once they reluctantly fixed the issue it has been fine. It is unique, I will probably build up a standard upper to have on hand though.
  11. I haven't seen a minimag on a shelf for a long time, refreshing to hear it is coming back.
  12. Usually a CRK Small Sebenza Insingo, or a Spyderco SuperBlue Caly 3.5 however on the weekends I switch it up.
  13. I have two 597s and the older one has had some extractor issues both seem to work better with 7-8 rounds in the mags. One VQ extractor later and the older one is good to go for another couple years.
  14. I guess if you only wanted one caliber in the house and you already had a .380 pocket gun this would make some sense?  I can't think of any other reason I would buy this over the 9mm
  15. inhad heard mixed things about em and since I got it at a close out deal so they could bring in the new model I figured I would take a chance. So far they have been fairly responsive and didn't want me to mess with it at all once I told them the issues. Ups has been closed since Friday so I haven't shipped it back yet, but I'll keep y'all updated on what happens and hopefully a revised range report
  16. Yeah I was thinking gas issue as well.  Being the first AR I figured let them fix it, once I know everything is good I will be more comfortable tinkering.   I was using a mixture of G2, G3 Pmags and Lancer Mags. Fed 55Gr bulk loads and Win 62Gr varmint loads all with the same results.    On a better note I did find a holster for my LCP I thought I had lost so the day wasn't all that terrible!
  17. Was finally able to get out to CHMR to test out my first AR (http://www.impactguns.com/2-vets-arms-ar15-lrrp-optic-ready-223556-16in-mid-length-gas-system-2va556lrrp-851401004100.aspx) with some less than satisfactory results.  The rifle failed to eject/chamber the rounds on it's own, I could manually cycle the bolt and shoot single shot seemingly all day, called 2VA and they are willing to look at it and get it running right, but being the AR novice I didn't feel like taking it all down to figure it out and if they are willing to do it free why not?!  Overall very impressed with the range and we will see on the customer support from 2 Vets Arms.
  18. I have a magpul MOE rail section I can send out
  19. blade HQ is a decent shop for knives, used them for pre orders numerous times.
  20. I'm thinking the .300 with some heavy subsonics will give me a better HD option, I will pick up a full length .22 and .223 upper and I should have all my bases covered for a long time.
  21. They are rifle-ish....
  22. I have decided it Is finally time to step up my rifle game from my current rimfire only status and thought the AR would be a good choice given its flexibility down the road. I am going to be using it mainly for target/plinking but would be my home defense long gun over the shotguns. I am thinking of a 10.5" upper pistol build with a sig brace, and was wondering opinions on .300 vs .223. Looking at this setup with either caliber. https://www.primaryarms.com/Radical_Firearms_10_5_1_8_Quad_Rail_H_BAR_AR_Pist_p/rf10.5pistol300.htm
