  1. That's where I got my screen name. I love that movie. Check out the scene where Kong is listing out the survival kit contents. It's classic.
  2. A friend ordered these just before he deployed to the desert. Scrapyard is owned by Dan Busse, who is the brother of Jerry Busse (Busse Combat). The knife is an absolute beast. Made from SR-101 steel (58-60 on the Rockwell scale), .333 inches thick and 13" long. The first thing I did with it was chop on a 2x4 (in my defense the 2x4 was looking at me funny) and it went through it like a really heavy, sharp knife cutting through a stick of wooden butter. I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with this one but it's too hardy not to use. I'll find something...
  3. I shoot mainly at ORSA, and when I go to ORSA the plinking range is my favorite place. The irritation has been searching the recycling bin for plastic bottles to shoot at and cardboard boxes to post targets on. As a solution I built this. I'm into it for about $20. It's made of 3/4" PVC (2' and 1' sections) and all the joints are friction fit. I can pull the top off of the base and lay it flat into the back of my truck for transport or disassemble the whole thing. The four one foot sections sticking off the side are for hanging bottles or whatever to shoot. Critiques welcome. Oh, and the $20 investment did get me several extra sections of 2' and 1' pipe in the highly unlikely event I ever accidentally shoot one of the posts. 4. I had a great time guys. Thanks for letting me hang out. Sorry I missed out on lunch but the family needed some time today too. Looking forward to the next one.
  5. Okay, I've met a few of you guys but I'd like to meet the rest. Where do you all meet? Also, for Magiccarpetrides, if you're coming you can go ahead and bring that GSG and I'll take it off your hands for you. You know you're going to sell it eventually...
  6. 80% is the number I've heard, although I couldn't tell you where I heard it. I'm hoping to find a decent deal on one of these at the Knoxville gun show this weekend.
  7. Very nice.
  8. That's a beauty! I personally like the Browns more than Wilson or Baer.
  9. the knife bug. I've got it bad. I went to Smoky Mountain Knife Works the other day and ended up with an ESEE-5. Now I want, no I need, a Busse FFBM. How am I going to feed my gun addiction and a knife addiction??? Anyone have a spare Busse they want to get rid of really cheap?
  10. My four year old son and I just had a 15 minute discussion on the best way to defeat a zombie invasion. I've never been more proud. If only I could get my wife on board now...
  11. When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was a story about Nancy Pelosi.

    GSG-5

Anybody shooting one of these? If so, how has reliability been? I've got a Sig 522 but I've liked the MP5 styling of the GSG. Wish I'd bought one before HK sued and the prices went up.
  13. Those look fantastic. I've got some Sarge's on my CBOB too.
  14. I likey.

I love my 20SF. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Very versatile, great for reloaders. Good for home defense or hunting. Did I mention I love mine?
  16. Thanks for the advice everyone. It is a live round. My big concern was whether or not the rimfire primer would detonate with prying pressure. I tried doing a little bit of research and couldn't find anything conclusive. I'll work on it tonight.
  17. I had a round jam in my Mark II this morning. Fully seated and stuck. I think I could pry it out with a jeweler's screwdriver, but that seems like a bad idea with a rimfire. Anyone have any suggestions?
  18. Craig, I carry a Glock 36 in the summertime and a Dan Wesson CCO in the wintertime. The Glock (like most Glocks) is a tank. It shoots anything I put in it and begs for more. My CCO is slightly more picky, but it carries nicely and has been a very reliable gun. Both are carried comfortably in Crossbreed Supertucks, but I also have a C5 Leather IWB and OWB holster for the CCO. I love them both for what they are and would not get rid of either of them.
  19. I'll try to get some pics if I get down there again. Here's their website too- ukurova Av ve Spor There are some pics of the shop in there.
  20. Yeah, Pop's is still the place. I broke down and got a new flight jacket and will probably pick up one of the gun rugs before I leave. The prices are just too good to pass up.
  21. This place is on the alley, a couple of blocks before you get to Pop's. May be the same place. I think I've talked myself out of it. I don't currently shoot skeet/trap and I think the $750 they're charging could be better spent back home.
