  1. He was measuring the sheetrock against the block wall foundation. It wouldn't be free. I'd have to pay for it and they send it off to a lab to be tested. Might still be worth it though.
  2. Thanks guys. Overall the basement doesn't feel humid like many do.
  3. We're in the process of buying a home and we had the inspection today. The house has a finished basement. Part of the inspection involved the inspector probing various parts of the basement with some sort of moisture detection device that goes from 0-100%. One corner of the basement read 96% so there is obviously an issue. It also hasn't rained here in a week or more so that is even more surprising. When checking that corner of the house outside we found the downspout wasn't connected to the drain. They buried one of those black plastic tubes that are so common. So it's clear rain water is just dumping there at the wall of the home. The inspector said he wasn't overly concerned with it and felt that we could fix it by diverting water away from that area. My dad said he wouldn't let it stop him from buying the house. I've never owned a home with a basement so I'm not that experienced with this. The rest of the house was fine. It's been very well taken care of. It's a mix of brick and new hardie board so they clearly have spent money on upkeep. That hardie board isn't cheap. How concerned should I be? The type of deal we offered is a information only inspection. We can't ask them to make repairs. We either buy the house or we walk. Our realtor said we could pay to have a mold test done if I'm real concerned. In his opinion, there are two types of basements. Those that leak and those that will leak.
  4. So, how do folks feel about fast food BBQ such as Buddy's? Not sure if Buddy's is a Knoxville only chain or not, but every time I eat there I end up questioning my life choices.
  5. Tough crowd around here. I too, prefer brisket. I'll still accept any prayers you want to send my way.
  6. @Worriedman care to give us an update? Will this be a watered down version or the real deal?
  7. This shortage is caused by people that won't stop panic buying. We are our own worst enemy sometimes. The odd thing is that if anything is in jeopardy it's guns and magazines which are actually in stock most places. It's just like the time after Sandy Hook when everyone mysteriously insisted on buying .22LR.
  8. Based on what I'm seeing around here, someone will buy that box.
  9. Ah. I misread Bryan's post. Missed the "or". I'm still trying to convince my dad that the vaccine is safe. Facebook misinformation is a helluva thing.
  10. My old man is 64 and has heart disease. Any idea when he will be eligible?
  11. Yeah but they get a lot more from the liberal states than us.
  12. I would be terrified to mail a coin that valuable. Especially right now.
  13. I will say, Walther's guns won't win awards for looks but they are some of the most ergonomic made. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these. @Smith did you have to order yours online or from a local gun store?
  14. I'm really interested in this one. Are all models optic ready?
  15. Damn right I did. Say what you want about the hipsters but they make good food. I'm serious. Some of these places are just not great and it's clear people only go there for nostalgia. Knoxville people will know this about places like Big Ed's. I've been repeatedly disappointed by some of the mom n pop BBQ joints that I've been too. There are many low effort places still hanging on that may have been good in the past, but aren't any more.
  16. Unpopular opinion coming. The best BBQ I've ever had hasn't been from the old-timey traditional places where you just get a low quality bun and a slab of meat. I swear some of those "original" places have served me sides that were premade, out of a tub. I ate at Central BBQ in Memphis in 2019. It was good but it didn't blow my mind. This best BBQ I've ever had has been in Orlando and here in Knoxville. Honestly, the more modern takes on BBQ are a lot better. This is my all time favorite. The Texas Destroyer by 4 Rivers Smokehouse in Orlando. Signature Angus brisket, topped with onion rings, jalapeños, melted provolone, served on a brioche bun and smothered in 4R Signature Sauce. https://www.southernliving.com/travel/4-rivers-smokehouse
  17. Yeah I'm not sure what they issue is. Your first post had valid reasons why you don't want a red dot. I think they are neat and will probably buy one eventually but I seriously doubt it's a "need" and really more of a "want". Some people feel the need to have every latest tacti-cool item on the market and then have to justify said expense. I wonder if Jack Wilson was running a red dot.
  18. Size and quality. I went with the Samsung Pro Endurance because one of the dash cam review guru's recommended it. It looks like the price has come down a lot since I bought it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B984HJ5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_R1ADPDN6G9Q88FN72M33?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  19. Seems like an unfortunate design. I went and fondled some handguns today that were red dot ready. I was excited about the FN 509 until I dry fired it. The trigger had to be one of the worst I've ever felt. They didn't have a Hellcat in stock.
  20. I have one in each vehicle to protect us from scammers and liars. I'm impressed with the quality of this one. Make sure you don't cheap out on the SD card. It's as important as the camera. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SRQH4R7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_ET6D0WN37BCK7V5FH7PD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  21. You're saying I would have to have the slide modified on a brand new gun just so it would work with decent red dots? Why would they design it that way? How much did would the slide work cost?
  22. Have you given a review of this gun? Currently watching Hickok's video but I'm curious to get your thoughts. Apparently there is some drama with Springfield I missed.
  23. They are not sure how long you are "immune" after getting Covid. I would think that eventually it would make sense to get the vaccine. The better question is how we came to be a nation that thinks vaccines are dangerous.
  24. I hate to hear this.
