  1. Yes. Gunsmiths have a FFL for exactly that reason. https://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/gunsmiths.html I'm lazy and didn't read that he's in Memphis. So yes, perfectly legal to ship it person to person within the state. A "gunsmith" would have a FFL to be able to do interstate business. In that case it's legal for a person to ship interstate to a gunsmith with a FFL and it's legal for him/her to send it back directly to you. No "transfer" is necessary. Finding a shipping carrier that will do that is a separate problem.
  2. Indeed. Nice ones too. :)

    My First 308

Then I'd agree that a 200 yd zero should work pretty well.

    My First 308

Exactly. Zero it where ever you'll use it most, be that 50 yds or 500 yds.
  5. Unless it's not working properly or so dirty my hands got dirty just handling it, I wouldn't clean it.
  6.     So that would indicate it's really not that hard to do.  The bullet doesn't drop but about 6" at 100 yds if you've sighted it to zero at 25 yds, even less if you're using something like +2" at 25 yds as shown in the table.  Still a darn good off-hand shot.
  7.     You said clearly stated.... in plain English no less....          :-\

    Bus Wreck?

Stories I've read/heard this morning say the bus that crossed the median was swerving to avoid a car that pulled out in front of, or cut-off, the bus.  A terrible coincience that it clipped the full bus coming the other way.
  9.   Right.  And they're not using a belt sander from a hardware store, they're using a $100,000 machine that's adjustable 0.001" (or less) at a time.
  10.   Exactly.  If the rounds cycle and are accurate in your gun, that's 99% of it.    That said, I think I've got 3 different 9mm HP's in 3 different pistols at the moment...  124gr Winchester in the Ruger, 115gr Hornady Critical Defense in the Shield, and 115gr Federal (?) in the S&W.    I don't use +P ammo because I don't think any of my guns are rated for it and I just don't see the value.
  11. Hey man, nice shot.  :)     And as stated in the original article, the comments here are pretty funny.  http://kxan.com/2014/12/01/chief-on-austin-gunman-hate-was-in-his-heart/
  12. Belt sanders are for big stuff like mower blades, Spots' bowies or an ax They're also only for those with lots of practice. A belt sander removes metal really fast, even with a fine grit belt. It also can get hot enough to alter the temper of the blade. I'm sure there's people out there who can sharpen a pocket or kitchen knife with one, but I wouldn't dream of it.
  13. It's been like that for 3 years?!?!? I agree it looks like a spider or other such critter bite that's gone septic, but for 3 years? That's just bizarre. I think I would've gone to the mayo clinic or cdc more than 2 years ago.
  14. Right. Unless it's pitted really bad or flaking, it could probably be resurrected.
  15. Driver won't be charged? 😕

    Bus Wreck?

That's horrible. And what is it with school bus wrecks these days?
  17. Pricey for sure at $1850.   Wonder how they "maximized the accuracy" given that the bullet diameter in typical bulk ammo varies significantly.
  18.
  19.     Good thing it's neither racism nor a hate crime.  Because that would be wrong...   :shake:             Linked in the fox article...   http://www.kmov.com/news/crime/Homicide-investigation-underway-after-man-hit-in-head-in-south-St-Louis--284248091.html     And yes, getting out of the car was the last thing he should have done.  Not to make light of it but..  "Our lady of blessed acceleration, don't fail me now..."
  20.   ORSA has a 1000 yd range, but you have to be or know a member and have to qualify to shoot the full distance.
  21. Put a coffee can or a small bucket under the drain tube coming from the valve. In my experience, once you open that valve it'll never seal right again and will leak occasionally. And speaking of that, y'all see the myth busters where they disabled the valve and blew up a water heater? Yikes! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jbreKn4PoAc
  22. Fair enough. I'd like to think that something useful might be done with the pelt (assuming it had a decent looking pelt) but I don't know how much getting it tanned would cost. I wouldn't want to spend much on it.
  23. Skillet left out to rust?!? :O
  24. Nice. Chambering?
  25. I'd hit it with compressed air. And keep in mind, American Water Heater makes water heaters right here in Johnson City, TN.
