  1. Could be an armory mark indicating which rack it should be stored in.
  2. Search through the list and get only what you need. The regulations are complicated and they make it difficult to figure that out. Lots of people spend the extra money to get the Sportsmans license as it's mostly a catch-all. I think that's intentional for revenue reasons.
  3. I would qualify the ethanol is ok statement with it depends on the design. Ethanol is bad for older seals and materials that were never intended for use with it. Most newer bikes were designed with E10 gas in mind so it's not as bad. And designed, not manufactured, is the key. They still build stuff that was designed 20+ years ago. My bike is an '07 but was designed in the 80's.
  4. 100% gas only in anything with a carb, especially if it doesn't get used regularly. I've learned that the hard way a couple times. Does it have a fuel filter? Backfiring and flakey idle sounds like a vacuum leak.
  5. This site has a reasonably concise explanation.... https://handgunlaw.us/
  6. Yep... feet, ankles, and knees become very reluctant to move. Makes stopping for a traffic light exciting. I also learned the trick of putting my gloved hand on the side of the engine to warm them up while riding. The left hand is pretty easy, the right hand takes some coordination. At my old job, there was a bread truck that went the same way I did in the mornings. When it was cold, I'd tuck in behind him to stay out of the wind most of the way. If you go the route of heated gear, get a vest. If your hands or feet get cold, crank up the vest and your body will naturally warm your extremities.
  7. We had several volunteer tomatos show up in the flower beds last year. I assume they were courtesy of the birds. I just let them be and had a few extra tomatoes. I also use my aquarium water on the garden and house plants.

    Mostly a rant

A friend had the same thing happen with his Audi. So he FaceTime'd with the engineers in Germany to show them he wasn't wrong. They spent 3 months working on it and eventually just replaced the entire electrical system.
  9. You guys are way ahead of me. My plan for this year is to wait until later than usual to start the garden. My idea is to try to avoid the rot problems I've had over the last few very wet Springs.
  10. That means its the John Wayne version.
  11. The dozer got stuck so he off'd himself. We welded himself inside it, so it took several days to get him out.
  12. Mine said banned, that got my attention for sure. Glad I'm not the one who made the booboo.
  13. I don't miss that... It took 4hrs to check the valves on my CBR and 2 days if they needed to be adjusted. It takes me about 30 minutes to adjust the valves on my XT.

I also don't like obscuring the target with the sights. Pumpkin on a fence post is how my rifles are sighted. I typically shoot handguns as center hold as shown above, maybe that's why my usual miss is low? I always thought I was anticipating recoil.
  15. Depends on which tag/title office you visit. Some don't care and will give you a tag when the title clearly says "off road use only". As long as it's got a headlight, brake/tail light, and 1 mirror, you're good. Turn signals are not required on motorcycles. You'll only get hassled about that if you've earned it by being an idiot or happen across one of the checkpoints THP sets up in the summer.
  16. Possible, but prices have jumped considerably over the past few years. Virtually every model has its own forum where you can find typical problems or modifications. https://www.msf-usa.org/downloads/t-clocs_inspection_checklist.pdf https://motofomo.com/buying-a-used-motorcycle-inspection-checklist/ If you've not ridden much. I highly recommend the MSF course. There's a dirt version that I'd really like to take. https://www.msf-usa.org/brc.aspx https://training.msf-usa.org/RES/dbs/enroll/dbsintro.aspx There's also the TTC. I'd also love to go to trials training days and watch the TKO. A few years ago they had a round of the FIM world trials championship. https://trialstrainingcenter.com/location-directions/ These guys have a great channel tons of instructional videos.
  17. The t-dub is a tractor, it'll go darn near anywhere slowly.
  18. Last I looked, you can only specifically hunt hogs on private property. There is no "hog season" anymore. If you see one while deer hunting (during deer season) you can shoot it.
  19. I'd save the hotel points and stay in a campground.
  20. Good bikes and very upgradeable. Lots of aftermarket. Another XT225, sweet! Mine's an '07. Everyone needs at least 6 motorcycles... A trials bike, MX bike, street legal woods bike, sporty street bike, touring bike, and a track bike.
  21. Advrider.com Hang onto your hat.... It's a huuuge forum, this will get you a little closer to home..... https://www.advrider.com/f/forums/southeast-the-lair-of-the-dragon-the-blue-ridge.63/
  22. That's a fair point I hadn't thought about until now. The term "vaccine" could be considered a misnomer in this case. It's more a targeted immune system booster than a vaccine as we think of the typical childhood vaccines.
  23. This one is lost to parenthood, but I still miss it.... But I succumbed to the dirty side and find that quite enjoyable on the rare occasions I actually get to play in the dirt.
  24. Not locked? Few people are stupid enough to steal a police car. Would you really want a cop fumbling with keys if they had to be somewhere in a hurry? Not a threat? More people are killed by cars than guns. He already initiated a wrestling match with a cop. He's in a police car that probably has a rifle and/or shotgun inside. He could easily impersonate an officer for nefarious purposes if he got away.
  25. I don't know of any either.
