  1. I believe state law says that, yes. But that's the point, what the law says isn't worth much until it gets argued over in court and decided on by a judge. Laws are one thing, legal precedent providing interpretation of that law is something different. It's far more complex and gray than it should be.
  2. My great uncle Bob was a belly gunner in a B-17 in Europe. He didn't keep his gun, but I can imagine shipping the whole turret home may have been problematic.
  3. I sautee squash, zucchini, potatoes, and onions in the skillet or on the blackstone pretty regularly. I usually use more herb based seasoning because my wife likes that better. There's a lemon rosemary that's really good.
  4. What do you want to make? There's usually craftsmans guilds for furniture makers, wood turners, etc. Surely there's a few of those around your area. Dad was always a hobby wood worker. He got deep into wood turning when he retired. He's in 3 guilds around Chattanooga and goes to symposiums a couple times a year. The guild folks are usually very welcoming and happy to help a newbie. You might also try the maker spaces. They have classes for various things as well.
  5. If the corn itself hasn't really formed yet and so isn't particularly heavy, the stalks may recover if not broken.
  6. Maybe it spins freely because there's a compression release? That would prevent it launching you into the bushes if it hits compression mid kick.
  7. It's always seemed like this would be super easy for any decent lawyer to refute in court. A basic knowledge of statistics says its all total nonsense. Even calling it "science" bugs me. Some universities offer a degree in forensic science, I hope there's more to it than this bullet matching silliness.
  8. I've never been good at kick starting bikes. Push it slowly around until you feel a lot of resistance. That should be on the power stroke. Then kick it as hard as you can. I'd also definitely be in neutral. It can get away really fast. I also didn't know there was much single track up there. That would be nice to stay away from the ATVs and SxSs.
  9. Same as them, Hiawassee lake or mountain streams. I just feed the fish everywhere else. Give em a meal, make em work for it and they'll be bigger and stronger next time.
  10. I finished the Mars Hill podcasts recently. Very interesting. I'd never heard of Driscoll but did enjoy some of the music that came from there. Some of the stuff they did and put up with was just plain nuts. It also struck home in some ways as the church we'd been attending collapsed and closed between Thanksgiving and Easter. While our church dissolution was for (thankfully) different reasons, I can sympathize with some of what those people are dealing with. It's exceedingly frustrating when the one entity you expect to be the most transparent turns out quite opaque. On a more positive note, it was encouraging to discover that actual journalism isn't dead after all, it just doesn't exist in mainstream media anymore. Anyway... so I've found I like a podcast on my way to work in the morning, something to engage my brain. Thanks for the recommendations, I have quite a list to work through.
  11. VIR, Road Atlanta, or Barber are the closest options.
  12. The ATF was involved because the business owner has an FFL. If millions unreported is the IRS accusation, taxes probably aren't the only thing this guy was cheating on. The ATF would be getting records from distributors and other retailers on what's been sent to this guy to compare to the 4473's.
  13. It's usually pretty obvious when they're bad. More acidic stuff lasts longer than fruit jams. I've got pickled jalapeños from 2017 that are still just fine. I've got some peach jam from 2019 thats also fine, but doesn't seem to last long once it's opened.
  14. Forgotten implies they ever knew in the first place....
  15. Given that open carry is legal here, I don't see that as brandishing. But I'm not a lawyer.
  16. Generally, if you're outside city limits, have a good (earthen) backstop, and know what's down range, you're good. The county sheriffs office can confirm. Expect noise complaints and a visit from a deputy most any time you shoot.
  17. Looks like a .22, airsoft, or maybe a squirt gun.
  18. The city's legal counsel telling them how much the lawsuit will cost and their chances of winning it. The laws are a hodge podge and most haven't been openly challenged or addressed in court, so we really don't know what it will look like if/when that happens.
  19. You should remove "from Florida" from the thread title. I'd bet there's someone not far from any of us who'd do something this stupid.
