  1. I was looking at their web site the have one dealer in Brighton and another in Henderson ,and another in Texas. They don't seem to offer a 5" pistol just commander size .

Ballistics speaking the .380 & the .38spl are virtually the same in a 2" barrel stick with a heavier .357 with good grips and use .38spl ammo. also something else to consider what about a ruger sp101 in .327 federal mag? It's newer caliber but supposed to have significantly less recoil. Ballistics are in the same ball park as well just has a lighter weight bullet .
  3. What would the PD do ? They would command the attacker to stop or you would be forced to defend yourself "STOP OR ILL SHOOT" ,if the attacker continued they would draw ,if they kept coming they would shoot. I think that it would be reasonable that if you followed that procedure you would be in the clear with the jury .You carry concealed you cannot be sure he is not carrying concealed as well and just has not drawn yet . If the attacker has been given fair warning and keeps coming then he signed his own death certificate .
  4. I get it now Thanks for the pic mikegideon It all kinda makes since .I do not have my HCP yet its on the list. But I used to carry before they had HCP several years ago mostly because of where I worked (security in a warehouse next to the projects). But haven't since. .I can understand how it must feel the first few times carrying until the jitters wear off .
  5. Listen to straight shooter he's right.Dry fire a bunch for at least 10 mins a day .I don't have that luxury. I drive a Truck over the road and I am not allowed to have a weapon on board .(I think I may buy a blank pistol for this come to think about it ) I have the same problem you do If I plan on going to the range before I go I do some dry fire practice for about twenty mins before I head to the range . That seems to help. Anticipating recoil plus grip and trigger problems are because of bad habits. By dry firing you have no recoil and your mind knows that . By making sure you stay on target when you "Press" the trigger will condition your mind before actually shooting until you've done it enough where it becomes second nature . here are some some articles that may help you out as well Articles About Shooting
  6. As long he has tags hes good. My brother shot 3 during muzzleloader Season year before last in the same day within an hour of each other and took all of em at the same time to the check station . No problems at all . 1 buck 2 does Shot the 1st one and reloaded walked to the deer ,and another one came up while he was standing over the 1st one.Dropped it then after gutting both of them another doe walked up on him and he took her too. My brother hunts to feed his family not for trophies not that he dosent have a couple on the wall. But two with one shot what luck
  7. TY Made the avatar Myself !! It was my "Gamer" Name years ago when I used to play online 1st person shooter games such as Unreal Tournament,Halo,Battlefield, Tribes ETC... jackdm3 The misspelling was on purpose long story short lost a password to a server and that was my log on name as well and had to change the spelling slightly. and it just stuck .
  8. Might have been a re-post but it was my first time seeing it . I'm glad he took the nut out.One less mouth to feed in prison .One more nutbag off the street. And most of all glad the cop made it out unscathed!
  9. Maybe I'm just stupid but what is a wally walk through??? What would going to wally world or any other public place bare any significance while carrying . Just wondering not trying to be insulting I just don't get it.
  10. I hope that Benz has flip down rear seats other wise He is going to have to play dodge ball to protect himself . But I like the rifle rack mounted in the trunk like that keeps it out of the way and out of sight .
  11. just always remember to keep your finger on the trigger while putting the bolt stop/mainspring back in and all will be well .

    Ruger 22/45

I've considered painting the front blade on mine to improve the visibility..A red dot and a /or pistol scope is next on the list for me because I'm squirrel hunting with it this fall .It is a great long range pistol already .
  13. Id keep the .357 and get another one was as well .I have had to sell all my guns in the past and have had regret every day since . No gun holds its value they all depreciate to some level . unless your into relics and custom guns but even that is questionable.

    Ruger 22/45

Ok so now assuming that you already have the blade type since you have yet to say what is on it now.(thats what I get for assuming)The only other option would be to paint the front sight with some hi-viz type paint. You only have two options with that gun the fiber optic or the blade type if you are having problems seeing the sight as much as your going to end up spending on a new one why not just put a red dot scope on top of it and be done. The gun already came with the scope mount base and the red dot will come with the rings/mounts. If you are looking for "fixed sights" that would be a down grade for that pistol as it comes with full adjustable target sights from the factory.

    Ruger 22/45

All you need to do is replace the front sight with a blade type if you are wanting a more standard type sight here is the front sight Front Sight A03612 MKIII & 22/45 MKIII models A03612-MKIII-Target-Front-Sight-Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. Front Sight Screw XR07600 MKIII & 22/45 MKIII models XR07600-MKI-II-III-Front-Sight-Screw-Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. Im guessing you have a bull or slab sided barrel.
  16. That would be a great choice that gun shoots very well but does have a thick grip if she has really small hands it might be a problem .
  17. If what we are talking about here is after an Apocalyptic event gold will be meaningless until a trade system is re-established if the monetary system is even precious metal based .I think that natural resources more than likely would emerge has the monetary system first .Food would primarily be the most common commodity bartered with and for. Refined items being highly prized would have high value such as fuel ,ammo ,medication. Man made disaster such as a nuclear bomb going off would be a centralized disaster and would make little impact on the world at large and recovery time would be less dramatic . I believe in that situation just making sure I have enough ammo to protect my family from looters and enough ready cash and food to sustain us for a couple of weeks would suffice in that situation.I don't believe we can really prepare for an apocalyptic event because we don't know if we would even survive it . so stock piling in that situation might mean your just creating a stash for some one else to survive or a very interesting archeological dig later . If we are just talking about our economic system collapsing with martial law being instituted would make ammo be a prized , expensive, and possibly illegal commodity. But look at our 3rd world neighbors that have nothing they seem to have no problem obtaining bullets for what ever their reason. seems every third world waring nation i see pictures of on the tube has no shortage of AK variant weapons and ammo because they are shooting them in the air every time the demon west takes a terrorist hit. Or a religious zealot says something they like .
  18. for the cat might even fertilize the garden a little A 750 fps .177 cal pump air rifle with scope will dispatch the critters quite well and not as noisy as the more powerful break action air rifles . But I like the latest offerings from Gamo great rifles very accurate but a little pricey.
  19. If she is just going to be carrying it she might want to reconsider. Obviously was not bought to be a range gun for her. She just needs to shoot it enough to be proficient with it . If you can't convince her to try it again you might consider something like a snubbie .38 revolver. Stay away from the air-weights and make sure you have a slightly over-sized grip most new ones come with one already the gun may have a little more muzzle flip but it will be less painful to shoot. My daughter loves shooting my Dads S&W .38 snubbie with hogue grips & she is 12 . I've shot it plenty of times and it is very comfortable my mother shoots it as well with no complaints. She shouldn't have anymore trouble concealing it than the Taurus. Especially if she purse carries.
  20. Businesses Opt out of allowing firearms especially for employees because of liability issues .I think if we didn't live in a sue happy world where cases are won that are devoid of any common sense .Most businesses would be neutral on law abiding citizens carrying for personal protection. My Father back in the 1970's was a manager of a Big Box retail chain store that sold electronics , jewelry, sporting goods and appliances . He was allowed to carry by his bosses .And one one occasion actually discharged his .357 in defense of one of his employees shooting the Perp in his shoulder .His company actually gave him an attaboy for his actions . In this era he would have been fired long before he ever had the occasion to use it and definitely if he did .
  21. You think crime and corruption are bad now hahahaha!!
  22. just a thought what about checking around with tool and die makers with cnc capabilities? still sounds pretty expensive to get a one off made
  23. He was using Wolf .22lr said it was more accurate than the match grade stuff and cheaper too.
  24. I doubt Remington manufactures it they more than likely got some one else that already makes one like the people at RIA to make it for them and stamp the Remington brand on the side . Hence the 200 buck mark up. It is more expensive so it s gotta be better . Right ?
