  1. i read somewhere about someone suing about these cameras. in most municipalities, the law is written to where a police officer has to physically witness a misdemeanor in order for a citation/summons to be issued. the cameras are not police officers so the point is moot. i remember reading about it a while back, but i cant for the life of me remember where it took place.
  2. it should be on the list. it is part of the national forestry service.
  3. i beat this very subject to death in my local forums here in chattanooga. it pissed off several people including police officers. the problem is with the law. that much is very correct. i can say that if a police officer is sitting down eating, the radio is always on. so if there was a huge explosion or shooting somewhere, chances are that police officer is going to drop his utensils and run for the car. i have seen this happen before. the carry laws in Tennessee need serious rewrites, but that is going to take time to do it correctly without screwing them up more than they already are. i work with a police officer and he sees both sides of this arguement, and his exact question to me was can you define on or off duty? being a visual deterrent against illegal activity is an official part of the job, so while he/she is sitting there eating, you can bet no one is gonna f-up while the LEO is present. like i said before, i would be willing to bet that 50% of the police officers out there do not know the carry laws as well as they should. that should be a yearly program taught at one of the many in service shooting days they take to do shooting/tactical practice. my 2 cents.
  4. o0 what model is that 44 mag? that is sweet.
  5. you should have done it on the internet through tennessee.gov. when you do a change of address there, it updates the state computers for both your drivers license and handgun permit. you just have to tell the LEO that your address is not correct on your DL but it is correct in the system. i have yet to encounter a problem from doing it this way. and the best thing about that is it was free. i will wait until my handgun renewal comes up before i have the address changed. that is nothing but a waste of money.
  6. yeah i will take a couple as well. please post paypal/snailmail addresses a.s.a.p.
  7. yeah, thats what i meant. i knew there was paperwork involved. about 200 bucks too i believe.
  8. amen to that. i do the same thing. those of us who work in the auto service/repair industry see what garbage has been sold for the last 15 years. honda, toyota and nissan are NOT in that category.
  9. i have shot that Taurus 1911 that Strick has. very nice gun. shoots very smooth. i had no idea the .45 ACP could be fired out of anything smooth.
  10. your choice to inform or to not inform is a personal choice. the same goes for boxers, briefs, thongs or commando. so if it floats your boat, go for it.
  11. i just voted and it is 58% yes, 40% no and 2% unsure.
  12. well i guess i can always have a wish list. i was thinking maybe a couple grand. but not 10 to 12. that is insane.
  13. ouch. thats high lol i knew the HK MP5 was around 25g's but damn thats crazy.
  14. i guess this is the correct section, if not, please move it. i was looking around and from what i can tell, and someone correct me if i am wrong, but i see nothing that prohibits someone from owning a fully automatic pre ban AK47 in tennessee. is my research correct? i am looking at a couple of different AKs to waste my tax refund on, but i want to be sure on knowing the letter of the law on this subject. if i can legally own one of the fully autos, then by god i will lol. links work well for yay or nay on this subject. thanks alot.
  15. i fund it funny how the state allows these laws to be passed, then they attemp to blatantly defy what they passed. freaking morons is what they are.
  16. they asked to see a birth certificate again? i showed them the darn thing when i applied for the freaking permit to begin with.
  17. wow. sad news. so sorry for your loss. you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
  18. goodbye you overpaid homo is how i feel about him.
  19. yup. Aetna Mountain, Prentice Cooper, Taylor's Ridge are a few of the places that we can go here in Chattanooga. i do it on a 1999 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4. its cheaper than a 4wd truck =)
  20. if there is a glitch in the system that is causing a pain in the arse for many people, it makes sense to me to revert back to what was not broken. i am among the few that despise the new layout. i do not go in that section near as much as i used to (which used to be 2 or 3 times a day, down to maybe once every 2 weeks). it is too much of a pain to do some casual browsing. now it got way too involved, so i just stay out of there all together.
  21. let me put the state firing test in perspective for you. in my class there was a little old lady in her mid 60's. she stated that she traveled and lived alone so she decided to get her permit. her revolver was a S&W that was 50 years old and had not been fired in over 35 from what she said. she passed with no problem. that make you feel any better?
  22. would having the trigger springs changed make this problem go away?
