I've got a buddy who has been an ammo hoarder for years. Every time he sees ammo at a fair price, he'll pick up 2-4 boxes. If he has a house fire, yikes. But he is not an opportunistic reseller. When he divested of .380 handguns he sold all his .380 at the height of the panic for 10% more than he paid (to cover tax and stamp)

I've always carried the 124+ Would I be better off with the 147 out of: Glock 17, CZ 75B, P01 and Kahr MK9.

If you're proficient reloading, 2 extra mags gives you 24 rounds.   I would hope that would be enough rounds of any caliber for an close range encounter of a bad kind.   The only reason I mention reloading was the first IDPA match I ever participated in...   Two shooters had 1911s, both performed flawlessly, shooter #1 had more experience, his reloads were smooth, shooter #2 seemed to fumble and lose time under pressure with the narrow(er) mag well as compared to my "ease"  with a double stack 9

I divested of my .22 long guns and substituted for a 9mm carbine (Hi Point) Always bought "higher end" .22 for my pistols ($5/50 price point) because it cycled better than bulk. Since no one shoots .22lr anymore in my family, I've got enough ammo to hold me over for a long while.
