  1. 1. Be honest, when you say, "you're a grown man, do whatever the f@$# you want, " you really don't mean it.
  2. African or European swallow? A palindrome of Bolton would be Notlob. My rowboat is full of eels. Eat you? What, with a gammy leg? Tiger brand coffee, it's a real treat, even tigers prefer it to real meat.

    $40K TV

My son sells electronics, 4K programming plus clarity on monster screen size sells...ridiculousness.
  4. His role in the new Maverick with Mel Gibson was priceless!
  5. In the Christian faith we are called to help others, what has gotten lost is helping those who need a hand up not a hand out. The most un-Christian card to play is for the looter to use guilt to get the producer to provide for his or her needs. The Bible is filled with God's Word to produce and take care of one's self as long as one is able. We can only do our best and know even if we are taken advantage of by a looter that we are rewarded in the spirit of doing the right thing.
  6. Time of day, body language, attire - all comes into play when a stranger steps onto our porch.   I will say, our 25# Jack Russell mix would be the first line of defense, she goes INSANE when a stranger comes a knockin' and we have not raised an aggressive guard dog!   This includes pest control, pizza guy, UPS / FEDEX guy, repairman, etc - we've got to crate or lease her to open the door) If my wife is home by herself, there is no doubt my dog would lay down her life for "Mom"   Highly unlikely someone we know would show up unannounced or unexpected after dark, so I govern myself accordingly.   Need to use the phone - we no longer have a landline, but with a cell phone, predicated upon behavior, I may or may not give access to the phone, but they WILL NOT be allowed into my home to use the phone.   I would also be on the lookout for a second / third person who could get the drop on me.   Erratic or aggressive behavior, I'm calling Five Oh for backup as soon as I retreat back inside / close the door (note all during this time my insane dog is trying to get out to "meet and greet" the stranger and I would probably mention, 'yep, she'd bite the snot out of you')   Desperate people do desperate things.
  7. Thanks for all the replies! Now to make a decision :o
  8. What should I spend on acceptable quality parts? $600? $800?
  9. Frozen pizza of your choice, we like Tombstone or Tony's   Add home grown, garden fresh Roma tomatoes and basil   Supplement toppings with your choice of extra cheese, pepperoni, etc.   Bake   Devour
  10. My title was misleading, I'm not currently building one, just starting my research. As far as cost, what will the parts cost?
  11. What can expect to spend for a reliable platform?   What mags do you use?   What is the effective range?   Any idea how ballistics would compare to a .38/.357 carbine?
  12. The next firearm I'll most likely buy will be a .22LR   I just don't know which one to get.   Looked at numerous:   1022s, from practical to tactical (Tuffus just posted a video on the 50th anniversary model which looks pretty cool)   Other semis   Lever guns   bolt action   AR-style   M1 Carbine style   It'll be for target / plinking and "survival" should the EOTW come a-knockin'   Suggestions, recommendations and opinions needed!
  13. Watched the video, pretty cool platform! Congrats on a good buy.
  14. Our cucumbers went from ones and twos to overwhelm, harvesting to start pickles!
  15. Randy, looks like we've got 15+ planning on attending...
  16.   +1000 on getting a good belt, made a HUGE difference for me
  17. Any lack of confidence should be in the gun, not your abilities to break-down and re-assemble.   With the new pin, you will be good to go, but I understand your concern...   Years ago I had an LCR, which had a mfg'er defect - the area on the strap directly above the forcing cone began to crater.   With all the research I did, I only found one other report where an owner had a similar problem.   Sent it back to Ruger, they promptly replaced it.   Loved that little gun, look, weight, trigger and shootability;  I was 99.9% confident my new LCR would be fine and would never have the same problem again.   It was the .1% lack of confidence that prompted me to sell it.
  18. What does bar stock of Ti cost? I know it's not the cost, but actually making it happen, thanks for posting!   I noticed when he was milling it appears all he did was hit it with compressed air to remove the shavings. I work with a buddy in an aluminum fab shop and was taught to use cutting fluid to keep the blades / bits cool and lubricated. Have seen CNC machines bathe the parts in fluid while being machined. Does Ti have different properties when being machined?
  19. Welcome Tim,   My first semi was a P95 and love my pair of Ruger SPs.
  20. Hi Mike,   I don't reload, but we definitely have some diehard re-loaders who are members and willing to share their knowledge.   welcome.
