  1. I looked but did not see you.  We were not there too long though and had a late start, vendors were packing up as we did a quick pass thru.
  2. I totally missed you last time, how can I identify your table?
  3. cool, the carry permit allows us to shoot inside city limits now?
  4. sti being excellent but pricy, springfield makes an EMP version.  http://www.springfield-armory.com/armory.php?version=137    I think para has one.
  5. yes, keep one in it.  The trigger pull is about 10 times heavier than a glock and longer as well.  It should not be possible to fire this gun by accident -- I can barely fire mine on purpose.  If glocks are safe (and they have been around for over 20 years now without any significant change in the trigger system) the nano is safer as it is harder to fire....
  6.   I have one he can practice on...!
  7. news is like trash, it gets recycled.  I hear the stuff I see on the internet 4 days later on the radio "news"   methinks she saw this and stole from it   http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324883604578398843653264474.html
  8. 9 is not correct, but 9/10 isnt bad and it was easy to miss this one.   He made several anti gun statements in his campaigning.
  9. I have been using cheap 90 ish grain 380s in  380, 9mm, and 38s with very good results --- all 3 guns are accurate as can be and this has provided me with a very cheap supply of ammo for punching holes in paper.   Off the top of my head I forget which bullet is bigger, but use the smaller size for both cartridges and it should be fine.  If the bullet does not expand to seal, you will have a leading problem, this can be solved usually with either softer lead (pressure will make it seal), stronger load data (just be safe), or using a hollow based bullet (might need a new mold).  You could also do gas check or paper patch if its giving trouble, but those are not worth it IMHO, if you just can't make it go make 2 types of bullets is going to be easier.
  10.   sure, truce so long as he does not attack the first again.  If he does that, I will continue to flame him.
  11. this is easy to defeat.  "you are correct, lets not make that law after all".
  12. Its simple enough, you phase out the limits as supply increases.   So say whoever gets 10k boxes of .22 LR bulk in 4 or 5 brands and is now well supplied.  Week 1, they keep the 1 box per person per day etc limitation.  If the supply is still strong, increase it to 2 boxes per day per person.   If the supply remains strong still, try 3 per day.  Still not sold out?  Drop the limit on week 4 to see what happens.  If they fall below 1k boxes, put the limit back on.
  13. WP probably makes about 20 times what I do yearly but the "nra is in DESPERATE NEED OF YOUR MONEY NOW NOW NOW".   This concerns me a lot more than where he stores his stash.  He gives me a PTL vibe, to be honest.
  14. AH my bad, then it isnt a law, they passed a.... statement?    The city council voted 9-0 that bacon is tasty?  Going to have to go with the pointless opinion then.  Hooray for them for making a statement.  Boo for not doing a darn thing.   No, I did not read it, I rarely follow external links at work due to the risk of setting of the virus scanner and having to deal with that.
  15. I think the antique palm pistol is pretty rough.  Neat idea, but its 100% function and 0% form.   http://www.genitron.com/Unique/palm-pistol-b.jpg
  16.   This is not legal unless you have done a lot of paperwork.  At the least, posting it here isnt too wise if you are not approved to make/sell ammo.  If you are certified, you can ignore the friendly warning.
  17. But it is not the right thing to do, at all.   It dictates that people spend their money to purchase a gun, which is like a new tax:  by order of the king ye must go forth and spend thy money to purchase a firearm lest ye be send to jail.   What??   This is EXACTLY LIKE OBAMACARE.     Supporting the 2nd is good, but this is very, very bad.    If they want to support the 2nd there are millions of ways to do that.  Step 1 is to repeal and remove all existing local gun laws, step 2 is to attack the state's gun laws, and step 3 is to attack the federal laws, for one obvious approach.  Constitutional carry is a good approach.   There are many other great examples of good pro 2nd laws and things to do.
  18. Most primer take 10+ pounds of impact in the exact center to fire.  Lacking any containment, a bullet going off from being dropped would lack the energy to do serious harm, most likely injury is shrapnel if the case shreds, minor burns.  I do not see it having enough energy to do more than leave a nasty bruise for most pistol calibers.   I suspect you would have to drop most bullets from several stories up to get the required impact.
  19. post got too long, redo.    9x19 trimmed and 9x18 ultra are virtually identical.  Both are for a smaller bullet but will stretch the small amount to take a makarov sized round. 380 brass is no good, emergency only use, it splits and is too thin for the job. naturally actual mak brass is superior to all 3.   9x19 is not the same size as 9x18, it has to be stretched.   all 4 cases will *work*.  All but the 380 work "very well".
  20. Heh, I can already tell you my call.   me) I was at XYZ and attacked, I had to shoot to defend my life.  He fell and I ran away and am at ABC now.  911) what is the status of the victim? me) I am breathing hard.  911) no the guy you shot me) No clue, I got away so he could not attack me anymore.... 911) is he alive? me) I do not know, try sending an ambulance to XYZ like I said to begin with.   I am not sticking around to render aid.  Attacker falls, I am moving out to get to safety in case he had buddies.
  21. If you can find it 9x18 ultra brass works fine.  I found 250 at a recent gun show (early feb?) and have had good success with it.   You have to run the 9x19 through the size die to take out the primer for the trimmer to work anyway so your method sounds about as efficient as it gets.    I have shot nothing but lead in my makarov (also poly barrel) for the past 3k or so rounds.  Its fine.  The poly & lead issue is greatly overstated and is probably more of a "be aware of the issues" thing than a "never do this" thing.   My load is 5 grains of accurate 5.
  22. don't say any more than you have to.  They routinely use 911 calls as evidence against people --- so say where you are, that you were attacked and had to shoot your attacker, and then avoid saying anything else at all beyond medical info Q&A that goes with such a call (is he alive, breathing, etc).
  23. So, as some of you heard, a man fell out of a small airplane this weekend.  I get to work and find out its a guy I used to work with.  Say a prayer for his wife, she needs all the help she can get.   He was a jack of all trades, minister, musician, machinist, computer programmer, pilot, and more in between.   Helped me develop my SAO makarov mod in the machine shop.  He will be missed.
  24. How much to bribe him to swap austin for NYC?   Then he can have a green light :bat:   Regular missiles now have the power of the wwII hiroshima nuke.   He might survive in a bunker, but he will be lonely when he comes out.
