Just Wondering

Recommended Posts

I got a question that maybe ya'll can answer sensibly. Im not wanting to start an argument or debate. I want to know why the President is called an African American. He is just as much white as he is black. It seems that all "Colored" people want to be african americans. So does that make other people German Americans, English Americans, Russian Americans, Canadian Americans...ect. The way I see it is that your either American or your not.

I was thinking about this exact thing earlier tonight. He's actually only 1/4 African. His mother was 100% caucasion, and his father was 1/2 black + 1/2 mid eastern.

Why not say Arab American and appease the middle easterners? He's just as much that as African.

Better yet, why not just say Black American? He's the president of the United States of America, which requires that he be a naturally born citizen. Why bring African into it at all?

Still better, why not just say American? We can all see he is black. Haven't we made it past subdividing ourselves? I thought we were going to "change" for the sake of "unity".

Technically there are only 3 main "races". Caucasian, mongoloid, and negroid. It is thee epitome of ignorance that we have people running around talking about race when they are usually in the same "race". African-american, Asian-, etc are not races they are people groups that are usually mixed races. Obama's father was 3/4 Arabic (caucasian) and his mother was American (caucasian) so technically he is less than 1/8 negroid and 7/8 caucasian IIRC. Of course this is all mute becasue people want to believe in illusions, ala socialism.

to whit: Kenya.

We have many legitmate reasons to attack Obama over, especially the fact that he's a marxist black radical with domestic terrorist ties.

The silly Kenya allegation just makes us look silly.

Way back when you were considered black if your blood was only 1/6 or 1/8 black (Can't remember the exact fraction). But basically even you didn't appear darker skinned you were still considered of Negro heritage.

We have come a little ways from that point in that we don't go strictly by heritage, but we still pretty much go by appearance. So while Obama may not be as dark as Wesley Snipes, he is dark enough, with enough heritage for many to call him Black. And in the PC world, Negro/Black = African-American.

Whether any of this is right or wrong or even the right attitude to have was not my intent to prove or disprove, simply my opinion/answer to the original question.

He's going to fix EVERYTHING in society....and make everyone equal (well some more equal than others). The guy is so too good to be true that it surprises me how many people are fooled by him. At least most of the southern and western states weren't fooled.

From Wikipedia:

The word octoroon means one eighth black. Half black is a mulatto, a quarter black is a quadroon.

I remember this from on old play I read.

Just sharing. Now continue on with your daily business.....

Firstly, I don't want to attack anyone. I DO however have a problem with his policies, lack of experience, failure to release his birth certificate, associations with known domestic terrorists, known connections to the corrupt Chicago political establishment..

as for my statement that he is Kenyan/American..

lets see here.. Kenya held a celebration when he won and declared that day a national holiday.

His AUNT is an illegal immigrant...

these are ALL things I have a problem with.

I personally don't care what tag anyone wants to hang on themselves. It is not important in relation to the office he now holds. Like it or not the guy is the president. Does not matter what his heritage is. There are plenty of legitimate beefs to have about him being the chief, lets focus on those.

I consider myself a native american btw.
