GT Distributors

Recommended Posts

I finally got the chance to go to GT Distributors in Rossville the other day with some coworkers during lunch. Their limit on ammo purchases is frugal though. I almost felt like a kid in a candy store with some of the things I saw. I ended up purchasing an UpLULA by Butler Creek. I missed the sale they were having Friday and Saturday though. I found some nice gun belts that I would like to buy as well as a "tactical carry shirt" that might hide my Glock 23 when I carry (which is 99% of the time when I am not at work). Has anyone been to the gun show at the Shriners off E. Brainerd Rd? I wish I could find some Winchester "T" series ammunition if it were available. Can civilians even buy that ammo anywhere even though it is only for LEOs?

I just bookmarked that site. Thanks for the hookup.

To the original OP. GT Distributor's isn't cheaper than the internets. But I've found the more you spend there, the less "stingy" they become... And I hate ordering stuff online. BUT I will be ordering some Rangers very soon.

I'm military and stationed in Atlanta but from Chattanooga with TN driver's License so I get the best of both worlds, guns from both states plus LEO prices. There is another place in Smryna Georgia alot like GT called SPD. They are oxned by Adventure Outdoors also in Smryna. I do like GT more and have bought about 10 firearms from them not including ammo, scopes and tactical laser devices. Yes, the more you spend there the more they throw in but it's kind of like a mom and pop store and it's operated by a woman who loves high end shotguns like my father-in-law. If you are a repeat customer and buy alot they are nicer to you then the window shoppers who can't buy everything in the store

They're a glock/sig/springfield LE/Military dealership so those brands are LEO only. All the smiths/rugers/used/kahr/FN that they have is fair game though. They just recently lowered the TN transfer fee to 25 dollars too.

They had Victoria marked 686 no dashes a month or so ago for 349....I'm still kicking myself for not picking one up.

Great store. Got a KAHR CW9 from them several weeks ago during one of their sales. Saved mucho denaro....like over $85 compared to everyone else.

Another little tidbit. They do get in a lot of Police trade-ins from time to time that also have great prices.

I have purchased at least 20 guns a year from them for at least half a decade now. They are great folks who know their stuff. I like to tell people about them, but that means there is less likelihood of me getting good deals in the future.

So forget everything you have read about GTs...they eat paste and they hate you.

Actually they can sell glocks to civilians now. If they know you or like they way you look that day they might sell ya a sig or Springfield. They know I am not LEO but were willing to sell me a sig anyway(not that I even want one).

Basically the only thing they wont sell civilians are light bars, sigs, and springfields. They do deal in SBR's etc... but I am not sure if they will work with civilians or not on theses.

I havent purchased as many guns from them as Pie has but I have bought a few.

and as he put so well they eat paste and hate you stay away from them

I was in Chattanooga today, one of my kids is seeing a eye specialist, anyway, had some time and visited GT Distributors for the first time.  Wow, is all that I can say.  It truly is a candy store for gun people like me.  There are some deals on police trade ins like Glock 22 and 21.  Most pricing was well South of $400.  They had huge inventory Glock oem magazines all around the $21 per mag price.  They appeared to be heavily stocked on ARs too.  They did have pistol ammo and 223, pricing was reasonable.  No 22.  I did pick up some 10mm ammo for my newest addition @ $24 box of 50.  If you have not checked them out, you need to.  I seldom if ever praise retailers, but this one is a good one.

Dont be fooled by all the pretty guns on the wall. They are the "display guns." They don't sell the displays and RARELY have the nicer ones (colt le901, scar, acr, etc.) in stock. Otherwise a pretty good place. I live about 6 mns away from them, but only go once a month or so. Its a smaller store, and ever since they opened to the public years back, they have shot up in popularity big time, so it gets pretty crowded at times.

The Shriners gun show is tiny and was disappointing last time.  Prior to that, it was great.  Small shows are my favorite.

As of yesterday they pretty much had every gun in stock. I did not see any 229s in stock but they did have two 226's

When I was there a couple of weeks ago they had very few firearms in stock. One couple was checking on a Glock that still wasn't in and they had been on a waiting list for months.

Glocks at GT's have been scarce except used ones. I asked about Glocks a month ago and all that was in stock were GAPs and a few G17s.. Everything else has been come and go. LCPs are out of stock as of last week. I have found some used Glocks at good deals though. I bought the salesman's sample new/unfired G26 gen4 for $480 OTD. I got a used G19 gen4 for 465 OTD. All in the last two months.
