Opinions about Lawman 230gr .45 FMJ

Recommended Posts

A local gunshop just got a lot of Speer Lawman 230gr and has marked them for $18.99/per 50. Is this a quality ammo for range practice? I've never shot it before & am not familiar with it, but the price seems good. How does it compare with Remington and Winchester for about the same price?

I can't compare it with anything but Blazer Brass but have had good luck shooting Lawman. It seems to shoot good groupings for me and not be any dirtier than the Blazer.

My Dept uses Lawman and aluminum Blazer for practice (we shoot at least 6 times a year and shoot alot of both in .40 and .45ACP).

Lawman is good ammo for its intended purpose, but I'd rather buy/shoot the aluminum Blazer...even at the same price.

We've had problems with Lawman (light primer strikes), and not Blazer.

Admittedly, most (if not all) of the problems have been with the .40 Lawman.

If you consider Lawman to be just practice ammo, then you're GTG...you might just get some malfunction clearance practice. :(
