Screw Joe Paterno and all his crying fans

The dude stood by and did nothing while boys were being raped by his coaching buddy. He was told first hand by an assistant coach who saw who something going on and he went back to his play book. Described it as horsing around in the shower. Well it was snapping wet towels wasn't it?

How may kids were raped because the pious JoePa turned his back on them kids? I hope he enjoyed his life knowing that he did nothing to protect children from Sandusky. The man damn well knew what kind of person Sandusky was before McQueary ( SP) ever walked into his office that day.

This whole thing pisses me off to no end, can't hold my tongue no more.

I am clueless how anyone can stand up and support the creep.

I am reserving judgement until more facts are revealed, but I have to agree with you from what I have seen so far. I have always had tremendous respect for Joe Pa, and I hope that it comes out that he did a lot more to curtail the situation. If not, then he is almost as guilty as Sandusky and should face jail time and civil liability.

He is a giant p.o.s. just like Sandusky and the rest of those sickos. He has already been quoted as saying " I wish I would have done more". That tells me he he knew and knowingly swept it under the rug. Or at the very least done the minimal he could do. Awful convenient that the undergrad that reported the shower rape to Joe p.o.s. is currently working as an assistant or something for Penn state.

I agree with Mike.357. The famous quote goes something like this: all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. When the school officials didn't take action he had three options: 1. go back to them and tell them to do something or he was going to the police, 2. go to the police because the school had its chance, or 3. do nothing. He chose #3 and it came back to bite him. The real losers are the men he allowed to be molested. He wiped out a great career with that decision. When you mess with kids or old folks you're history with me.

I don’t get it, and could not sit by idly if I even had inkling something was amiss. I know through me and my miss’s involvement in the booster club at both the elementary and middle schools here, you have to have a background check run if you are to be in direct contact with the kids. Even the book keepers for basketball have to have one run. Your 15 year old cannot help you during a practice if your assistant coach is out unless they have had one run. I would like to believe that this would be the case even at the university level.

Appalling and like quietguy I hope there is more to it than we are seeing but that makes it none the less disturbing.

While I agree that Joe should of done more all the blame is not on him in my opinion first of all the assistant coach seen it all and chose to do nothing. If I seen it happen I would of called the police on the spot, the assistant coach did nothing so I place the majority of the blame on him after all Joe didn't witness it and only heard the story second hand. If I were joe I would of escorted the assistant coach to the police so he could tell what happened.

I just cannot comprehend how Mike McQueary saw with his own eyes a child being raped and did nothing. Not a GD thing.

The poor boy being raped said they made eye contact, certainly he thought he was going to be saved, and the freaking coward McQueary backed out of the shower room and did nothing.

That SOB is every bit as guilty as Sandusky.

There is no way I will ever be convinced that Paterno did not know about it all. If there is even an inkling of suspicion you call the police. Good God, this is the time YOU call the freaking police.

Paterno just stuck his nose back in his damn playbook.

I think he did the right thing in reporting it to his bosses, BUT when they failed to take it to the next level and notify the authorities, that's when JoePa should have realized the problem wasn't being addressed and he should have informed the authorities.

I don't know how Penn State could even allow Sandusky to keep a "private back corner office", have late night access to the facilities, when an allegation like this was out there.

If they weren't willing to fire him back then, they should have moved his office to a higher traffic zone where he couldn't be "alone", should have had to share an office with another coach, AND be restricted from using the facilities after normal times (maybe a 9 am - 5 pm restriction), at least they would have a documented track record of doing SOMETHING to prevent this from happening.

instead, the guy had his own private quiet little office at the back corner of the building where he could practice his nasty deviancy, and access to facilities late at night when there would be little to no chance of anyone catching him in the act.

that to me is the same thing as condoning it. they didn't take the allegation seriously, they swept it under the rug, and looked the other direction. all involved should be fired, including the graduate assistant. how do you see this and NOT call the police? You just go to the coach, and then forget about it??? The graduate assistant that saw Sandusky in the shower with the 10 year old boy, needs to be charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and then needs to be held accountable for civil damages by the boy's family. He didn't intervene, he didnt call the cops, he just reported it to JoePa, and went on his merry way, while the abuse continued on the child. And anyone else who witnessed anything similiar and failed to report it to the cops should be charged too.

If I ever saw someone molesting a child, there would be a pair of bullet holes in the back of that sick ****er's head, and there would be no jail and no trial for that monster. I don't care if I got charged or not, because I doubt any jury would convict, and even if they did, I'd be well protected in the prison for take care of a pedophile in the most fitting manner.

I agree, but here's the thing that gets me...

If I understand correctly, he was RETIRED. I believe he had retired/quit back in '98 or '99, before the alleged incident happened in '02. He wasn't even on the coaching staff anymore. Now maybe he held another position at the school, but if he did I haven't heard of it. So why in the hell did this guy still have full access to the facilities for more than a decade? He was on campus as recently as a week ago (prior to his arrest). Maybe I'm wrong but I have yet to hear from anyone a single good reason why he needed to be in the facilities to begin with if he was no longer working for them.

he had emeritus status with the university.

For the record I agree with most of the sentiments but McQuerry's observation WAS reported to the police and they nor the DA pursued charges. This whole thing stinks. I can't imagine all these people protecting someone like it appears they did unless there is more to the story. I'm holding final condemnation until the rest of the facts come out.

From my perspective McQueary should have done more than just report the incident. He should have stopped it the instant he saw it happening. You can't tell me that a 28-year old man can't stop a 60-year old from raping a little boy. He should have boot-stomped Sandusky's head into the floor until he was unrecognizable. He is a cowardly POS and deserves everything that's coming to him.

If he had made an effort to stop, rather than casually reporting the incident, it would have ended this abuse. His failure to do something, makes him guilty as well.

Kinda my point. I have a hard time believing all these guys knew what is known now and not only looked the other way, but in some ways facilitated the cover-up and then intentionally looked the other way. Some one suggested McQuerry may have had some relation to Sandusky as a kid and that would make more sense than anything else I've heard so far. It just seems like somethings missing.:)

That being said if it is indeed how it looks now, I have no words for the amount of disgust and contempt I have for these "men".

Here's the grand jury finding. It is a disturbing read on many levels. Grand jury stuff isn't always right but I'd opine that it seems obvious that a lot of people knew about what Sandusky allegedly was doing.

One surmises that there are two ways to think about this. The first is that Joe Paterno, who obviously knew, thought he could control Sandusky and stop the behavior. Which I find a little bit hard to believe. The other way to look at it is to think that the reason they didn't report Sandusky is because he knew stuff that would be unfavorable to the program.

If you listen to Barry Switzer everyone on Penn State's staff had to know. I think a lot more will come out.

Offensive joke warning comb. DO NOT READ any further.

Didn't i tell you to stop reading?

If you're still reading you are on your own. I told you not to read. You are about to read a really bad joke. It's not just a bad joke, it is in bad taste. And it isn't even very funny. So stop reading.

Remembering I told you not to read....

Thankfully, UT doesn't have to worry about this stuff cause the Vols can't even score with college aged kids.

I read that there were a couple of janitors that saw the coach performing oral sex on a boy and they only reported it to their supervisor and not the cops because they were afraid that they might lose their jobs.

I know it's hard to believe but this is the reasoning I keep hearing behind their actions !!!!!!!

Really ? Cleaning the sh*ters at Penn state must be real f**king special. So much so it trumps sexual molestation.

Did I hear that the DA had knowledge but didn't prosecute? I'm not trying to stir up the rumor mill, but I thought I heard something to the effect this morning. I still say this will go deeper than people think. I'm trying not to watch too much of this stuff because its so disgusting.

Nothing like watching fox news in the morning to get your bright ray of sunshine B)
